Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care and daily living support
Delivers basic patient care under the direction of the registered nurse, including assistance with activities of daily living (hygiene, bathing, toileting, dressing, mobility), meal set-up and feeding as indicated, skin care, positioning and turning, ambulation and range of motion, admission and discharge support, safe patient transport, and orientation of patients and families to the care environment.
• Support patient monitoring, data collection, and specimen collection
Obtains and records patient data such as vital signs, pulse oximetry, non-invasive blood pressure, height, weight, intake and output, blood glucose results, and 12-lead ECGs; performs bladder scanning and specimen collection using two patient identifiers; promptly reports changes in patient status or abnormal findings to the RN/licensed nurse.
• Prepare, use, and maintain equipment and the care environment
Retrieves, sets up, and cleans patient care equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, portable oxygen, pulse oximeters, suction systems, lifting equipment, scales) according to unit protocols; maintains a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment; follows equipment management and infection prevention practices, including standard precautions and hand hygiene.
• Promote a safe, healing, and respectful environment
Supports a Culture of Safety by performing hourly rounding, responding promptly and appropriately to call lights and patient/family requests, providing constant observation when assigned, using Safe Patient Handling principles, monitoring for and reporting safety concerns, and consistently demonstrating respect, kindness, and cultural sensitivity while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Document care and communicate effectively within the care team
Accurately documents assigned aspects of care and patient data in approved forms and the electronic medical record; communicates clearly and respectfully with patients, families, and all members of the interdisciplinary team; seeks RN assistance when needed to meet patient/family needs and to escalate concerns.
• Participate as an engaged member of the interdisciplinary team
Collaborates with nurses and other team members to meet patient, family, and unit needs; proactively offers assistance to others; performs delegated responsibilities within scope and adapts to changing unit demands; provides care appropriate to the age and condition of patients on assigned unit(s).
• Support learning, development, and mentoring
Participates in ongoing education by identifying learning needs, completing required annual training, and attending in-services; supports orientation and mentoring of new Clinical Assistants to help them meet performance expectations and adhere to unit and institutional standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of English language sufficient to read, speak and write accurately.
• Knowledge of simple math.
• Ability to lift and transport patients using the appropriate physical technique in a safe manner for the patient and self-according to the safe patient handling guidelines.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors, and personnel.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
High School diploma or equiavalent.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
Certification as a nursing assistant required upon hire, unless incumbent is a nursing student who has completed her/his fundamentals of nursing with a clinical component (clinical rotation or simulation lab). May not currently hold a valid nursing license.Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross required upon hire.

Position Summary
The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) provides comprehensive primary care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. In collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams, the PNP delivers preventive, acute, and chronic care services. The Prepayment Program Integrity Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of prepayment claims auditing programs designed to ensure payment and vendor accuracy. This role oversees prepayment review activities, vendor edit programs, provider appeal processes, and related auditing operations. The Manager leads a multidisciplinary team of clinical, coding, and audit professionals while partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors to optimize claim review performance, cost savings opportunities, and provider engagement. This position is accountable for ensuring that prepayment audit activities are conducted in a consistent, compliant, fact-based, and unbiased manner while balancing payment integrity objectives with provider experience and operational efficiency.Job Duties:
Manages day to day operations of Program Integrity Department. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and other regulations while maintaining the integrity of all auditing data and reports. Conducts periodic compliance and performance reviews of auditor cases and activity. Improves the balance of complexity versus-value to increase potential impact and returns. Successfully promotes and ensures audits are fact based, unbiased, comprehensive, and provides comprehensive informative findings.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the Prepayment Program Integrity function, including prepayment claim review and vendor edit oversight.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve prepayment auditing strategies that support organizational payment integrity and compliance objectives.
- Monitor program performance, audit outcomes, operational metrics, and financial impact to drive continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, workflows, and controls related to prepayment claims auditing activities.
- Prioritize and manage multiple initiatives while meeting regulatory requirements, business objectives, and operational deadlines.
Vendor Management & Oversight
- Serve as the primary business owner for prepayment audit vendors and editing solutions.
- Oversee vendor performance, service delivery, operational effectiveness, contractual obligations, and financial outcomes.
- Collaborate with vendors to implement new edits, optimize existing auditing strategies, and improve program results.
- Monitor vendor accuracy, consistency, turnaround times, and appeal outcomes through ongoing quality assurance and performance reviews.

Audit & Claims Review Management
- Oversee prepayment claim auditing activities involving professional, facility, and ancillary claims.

- Responds to telephone inquiries to assist providers, nurses and other caregivers with lab test, test requirement and result inquiries.

- Utilizes electronic system for faxed tests results from reference laboratories.

Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing direct clinical behavioral health and/or substance use services to child, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patients and families. Services include: group therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, psycho-education, discharge planning and coordinating with community, government and/or other behavioral health agencies for aftercare services.
Essential Functions:
Under the direct supervision of a board approved supervisor, this position will provide therapeutic and case management services, including:
- Adheres to respective Board mandated professional development and CEU requirements needed to maintain active provisional licensure
- Demonstrates screening and assessment skills needed to obtain essential information from patients, their families, or collateral sources to develop person-centered care and discharge plans
- Documents and communicates key information needed to collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized and developmentally appropriate care and discharge plans. Provides rational for prioritization and/or deferment of problems
- Displays proficiency in providing therapeutic interventions to families, individuals, and groups. Offer specialized treatment interventions such as sexual offender therapy, play therapy, EMDR, or other if certified/credentialed to do so

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Participates in day-to-day operations of the program including patient education and call triage
2. Participates in program evaluation and development of strategic goals consistent with DFCI’s mission and professional values.
3. Participates in the QA/QI projects for the program.
4. Supports the research activities of the program.
5. Exhibits professional commitment through individual integrity, honesty and accountability to self and others
6. Delivers expert clinical care through evidenced-based practice partnerships with patients, families and colleagues.
A. Assumes nursing care responsibilities for a defined group of patients within the program, including but not limited to assessment, education, coordination, and documentation.
1. Facilitates individualized care within the context of functional status, cultural consideration, health literacy, psychosocial, reproductive/fertility, and spiritual needs for patients, families and caregivers.
2. Supports a smooth transition of patients from active treatment into survivorship, chronic cancer management, or end-of-life care.
3. Assists patients with cancer with issues related to treatment goals, advanced directives, palliative care, and end-of-life concerns using an ethical framework that is nonjudgmental and nondiscriminatory.
4. Acts as a liaison between the patients, families, and caregivers and the providers to optimize outcomes.
5. Advocates for patients to promote patient centered care that includes shared decision making and patient goals of care with optimal outcomes.
6. Provides psychosocial support to and facilitates appropriate referrals for patients, families and caregivers.
7. Contributes to ONN program and role development, implementation, and evaluation within the healthcare system and community.
8. Participates in the tracking and monitoring of metrics and outcomes, in collaboration with administration, to document and evaluate outcomes of the navigation program.
9. Functions as the primary nursing contact for care delivered within the physician practice setting.
10. Engages in collaborative decision making, utilizing available data expertise and wisdom of the collective.
11. Manages patient care across the continuum, including new patient calls, and making appropriate referrals as necessary.
12. Works collaboratively and functions as an effective member of the health care team.
13. Monitors the environment of care with attention to patient safety, and assures compliance with regulatory agency standards.
14. Maintains clinical practice that is evidence-based and consistent with nursing policies, procedures and standards.
15. Provides care based on age-specific needs of the patient.
16. Adheres to the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements (ANA, 2001) in all aspects of professional practice.
17. Complies with accepted standards of professional nursing practice that is evidence- based and consistent with policy, and procedures determined by DFCI as well as with all licensure/registration requirements applicable to the nursing role.
18. Fosters an environment that is sensitive to the needs of diverse populations, including but not limited to culture, ethnicity, gender, and age.
B. Professional Development:
1. Identifies areas for professional growth.
2. Formulates professional goals, objectives and methods for accomplishing these.
3. Serves as representative on Nursing and Institute committees, including the Program Nurse Committee.
4. Supports research activities within the Nursing and Patient Care Services and the Institute.
5. Meets all annual evaluation requirements and competencies within the established time period.
6. Collaborates in preparing professional reports, articles, and presentations for colleagues and the public.
7. Pursues active membership in local and national professional organizations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: Associate Degree, Nursing. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing strongly preferred. If Associate Degree in Nursing, must complete BSN degree within 4 years. Experience: Completion of the Oncology Nurse Residency Program (ONRP) or 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse. Ambulatory and/or oncology experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or State of New Hampshire as appropriate required. AHA BLS required (AHA ACLS accepted as minimum requirement). Professional nursing certification preferred (OCN, BMTCN, CPHON, AOCNP, CRNI, RN-BC).
