Second shift fulltime.
Pay Range:
$18.85 - $28.30Atrium Health is seeking a full-time Environmental Services Technician. This position promotes environmental protection by maintaining healthy and safe medical facilities for employees and visitors.
Position Highlights:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following functions:
Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to:
- Dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures
- Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures
- Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors
- Vacuuming and shampooing carpet
- Re-stocking restrooms
- Replacing light bulbs
- Reporting repairs
Most of the work is indoors but may assist with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof. Various cleaning activities may include the use of a ladder.
Heavy contact with cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.
Removes waste by:
- Collecting and transporting soiled linen
- Emptying trash containers
- Changing sharps containers
- Transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors
- Recycling material
- Emptying cigarette receptacles in smoking areas
Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
Maintains safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
Qualified Candidates:
- Preferred: High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Preferred: One year experience
- Can prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner
- Can operate equipment
- Can establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers
Work Environment:
- Performs repetitive work according to set procedures
- Stressful, fast paced
- Works in contaminated, isolation, construction and renovation areas
- Occasionally works in extreme temperatures and around unpleasant smells
- Exposure to individuals with various degrees of mental, physical conditions and illnesses

Our 21‑bed Emergency Department provides fast‑paced, comprehensive emergency care for patients of all ages, treating a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions with an average daily volume of around 100 patients. Nurses maintain a 4:1 assignment, supported by nursing assistants at 10:1, with typical patient stays of 4–6 hours. We’re seeking nurses who can think quickly, work efficiently, and thrive in a highly collaborative, team‑focused environment. A strong sense of initiative, adaptability, and the ability to respond calmly under pressure are essential; experience is preferred, but motivated new graduates who want a challenge are welcome. Our ED is known for exceptional collaboration with providers, strong peer support, and a fun, energetic team culture—making it a great place to grow, learn, and build confidence in emergency care.
We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by American Heart Association within 6 months of hire.

Within this unit, highly skilled clinical professionals from various disciplines provide continuous, comprehensive care to patients following intricate neurosurgical procedures or facing life-threatening neurological disorders. We employ a patient-centered approach, offering extensive neurological services that support seamless continuity of care.
Patient-centered care in the Neuro ICU is achieved through effective teamwork, compassion, innovation, education, and research. Our nursing staff are proficient in operating diverse ICU equipment, such as tubes, lines, drains, invasive hemodynamic monitoring devices, and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT). Specialized interventions include management of EVD and SEPS drains, post-thrombolytic care, and post-interventional radiology care.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License

- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.

Major Responsibilities:

- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
- Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. 3K Medical Observation is a 22-bed observation unit. Our patients are here for a variety of behavioral health reasons requiring hospitalization. On 3K we do cohort most of the children at Levine Children's Hospital with a mental/behavioral health diagnosis. However, because we are a medical observation unit, we can also care for patients with a 1-2 day stay in the hospital. Majority of these diagnosis include IV hydration, rule out sepsis, ortho observation, and surgical observation.

10 Ardmore East is a 16-bed Medicine Floor that primarily serves our Family Practice service line. We thrive on strong connections with our providers, patients, and each other, making this a welcoming and exciting floor to be a part of. Family Medicine is a somewhat unique service line, in which our patients are already connected with a Primary Care Provider within our Atrium Network. When these patients need inpatient care, they are cared for by our team on 10 Ardmore East.

- Prepares patient charts and testing materials in coordination with the supervising neuropsychologist.
- Administers tests in a standardized manner, ensuring accuracy while documenting detailed behavioral observations throughout the testing processes to aid the neuropsychologist with their interpretation and the completeness of the patient’s evaluation.
- Participates in establishing proficiency in job duties at the desired level of competency i.e.; review and ensure timeliness and accuracy of administering tests and scoring patient charts.
- Utilizes computerized scoring software, word processing, and database programs to prepare a summary of test results.
