The incumbent has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to who care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is relevant to the patient(s) under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The incumbent also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)OR
Must possess current temporary RN permit as required by state board where services will be provided:
MD: No temporary permit issued. Requirements as follows:
Documentation of recent graduation from School of nursing
Must obtain permanent RN license within 90 days of graduation.
OH: No temporary permit issued. Ohio Nurses must be currently licensed.
PA: Current PA Registered Nurse Temporary Permit. Must obtain permanent licensure within one (1) year of graduation.
WV: Current WV Registered Nurse Grad Permit. Must obtain permanent licensure within 180 days from graduation.
NOTE: Temporary permits are valid only within the state of issuance; they are not multi-state licenses.
2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred OR Associates of Science in Nursing Degree (ASN) or Diploma, currently enrolled in a BSN program and BSN completed within 5 years of hire.

9. Determines/revises priorities for direct/indirect patient care activities based on patient acuity and available resources update to daily care plan to include appropriate algorithms for safe patient handling.
10. Uses established patient care support systems including documentation, communication, & information.
11. Responsible for educational instruction to patients and families with health care needs.
12. Identifies teaching/learning needs of patient.

1. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health recommends minimizing the need for employees to manually lift patients, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. $51.05 - $76.60Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute is looking for an experienced full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specialized in Hematology/Oncology to provide quality health services to the patients in the Charlotte and surrounding community. The Virtual Classical Hematology APP position at LCI Concord in Concord, NC is open to either a nurse practitioner (NP) and/or physician assistant (PA) and will see a variety of classical (non-malignant) hematology disorders.
Position Details:
- Outpatient consults and follow ups
- Clinic is open Monday – Friday; Schedule consists of 4 days/10-hour shift or 5 days/8 hour shifts
- 75% virtual and 25% in person
- 12 Physicians, 5 APPs in LCI Concord
This APP functions primarily in the outpatient setting caring for classical hematology patients and demonstrates appropriate critical thinking and interpersonal skills when working in a fast paced, high acuity work environment. Qualified candidates will be able to perform thorough history and physical assessment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Graduation from an accredited NP or PA program. Current license to practice as a NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS for healthcare provider from AHA required.
- Nurse practitioners are required to have a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice.

9ST is a 48 bed Adult Moderate Acuity Cardiovascular Surgical unit. Working closely with the CVICU, we provide care to those patients needing specialty services before and after their heart surgery, heart transplant and/or ventricular assist device (VAD). Orientation to our unit is completed in two phases. Phase one focuses on the care of the cardiac surgical patient with phase 2 centering on the more complex needs of the heart transplant, ultrafiltration or VAD patient. Ensuring that our patients always receive care from the most professionally trained nurse we. 9ST is proud of our quality and patient satisfaction scores. - Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated. Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices.
- Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of the patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection. Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required. Under direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care and perform bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Coordinates tests and treatments with and between various departments for patients on nursing units. Maintains a working knowledge of functions and services offered by all diagnostic and treatment departments to facilitate the scheduling of tests and treatments. Maintains working knowledge of EHR system and other computer systems for ordering patient and unit supplies and equipment. Processes daily patient charges and/or related procedures through the system.
- Facilitates communications required to support patient care, including the multiple-line telephone, unit/site paging and the hospital information system. Screens incoming telephone calls. Monitors department office equipment and troubleshoots minor problems. Arranges repair of major malfunctions.
- Compiles necessary chart forms for admissions, transfers, discharges and expirations. Obtains appropriate copies of medical records for transfers to nursing homes and other health care facilities. Verifies medical records contain complete and accurate patient demographic information, patient identification and registration in the medical record, including appropriate level of care.
- Establishes and maintains positive customer relations and contributes to a harmonious work environment. Quickly and courteously acknowledges requests, responds to call lights, demonstrates proper phone etiquette and fosters communication between the health care team.

Major Responsibilities:
Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by a physician
Accountable for the performance and documentation of all diagnostic procedures utilizing proper technical parameters to produce quality studies.
Knowledgeable in the safe use, maneuverability and operation of all general radiography, portable and fluoro equipment (if applicable to home site)
Proficient in the performance of general diagnostic procedures. If applicable to home site, is also proficient in general fluoroscopy procedures, including GI and Pain procedures.
Adheres to infection prevention, isolation and sterile techniques as it applies in patient handling and delivery of care
Adheres to ALARA principles in performance of exams to reduce exposure to self, the patient and others
Utilizes proper patient identification to ensure the correct exam is performing on the correct patient at the correct time.
Obtains and records pertinent patient history, explains the procedure to patient in a manner to ensure understanding, ensures patient comfort during performance of exam.
Adherence to department standards of radiographic quality.

Reports environmental/equipment problems to appropriate resource personnel.
Performs required computer function for RIS/HIS systems.
Labels all radiographs appropriately following department’s established criteria and standards.

1. Able to manually lift patients, and limit safe patient handling to 35 pounds. All transfers, lifts and re-positioning will be completed utilizing the lift equipment and/or other patient handling aids as indicated by the patient’s profile and appropriate algorithms.
2. Heavy/Hard work: Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying of materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs.
