Major Responsibilities:
Accountable for Performance of CT scans and post processing according to established clinical protocols, guidelines and department operating procedures
Transports patients to and from departments when necessary. Assist in transfer of patients on and off the CT table. Continually monitors patient condition during CT procedure.
Works with radiologist in the tailoring of protocols to meet patient exam requirements.
Follows correct CT Department Technologist workflow ( select correct scan room, identifies and documents two forms of identification on each patient, acquire history, verify orders, scan patient, send images to PACs, scan all paperwork and data sheets (eg. history sheet, med-reconciliation sheets, consent forms), start and complete the case in RadNet, address Q A issues, charge for contrast media and supplies, Verify that all images, series and data sheets have been sent to PACs- make sure the number of images is correct, verify exams.
Positions patients correctly, using proper immobilization techniques
Performs optimal scans using correct technical factors, shielding and protocols, based on the patient diagnosis, history and other relevant clinical information.
Use correct technical factors in accordance with the American College of Radiology (ACR) to use the lowest amount of radiation to get a diagnostic scan.
Performs CT angiography, 3D, MIPS, VR, Vessel Analysis, and MPR's, post processing of computer data to enhance exams for radiologist interpretation, using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest.
Operates support equipment for CT such as: Independent workstation, pressure injector, PACs and RadNet systems.
Initiates IV for administration of contrast media for CT in accordance with department policy and utilizing standard precautions - Is IV certificed within 3 months of hire.
Prepares patient for exams by explaining procedure and by encouraging questions and answering any questions the patient may have
Accountable for maintaining good relations when dealing with internal and external customers encountered in daily performance of job. (Internal customers - fellow staff members, physicians) External customers - ancillary departments, inpatients, outpatients, ER patients and family members
Associated is expected to follow the Advocate Standards of Behavior
Associate uses BOE's when interacting with patients, family members, visitors and staff
Address minor customer complaints. Tactfully resolves complaints, using service recovery
Refers difficult complaints or sensitive issues to higher authority
Provides explanation of delays for testing to patients who are waiting past their scheduled time.
Accountable for obtaining pertinent patient history to provide the radiologist with adequate information for exam interpretation and to ensure procedural criteria is met.
Obtains and documents, confidential history (eg. lab values - BUN/Creatinine, allergy screening, surgical and dialysis history, etc), from patient, chart or family member, to ensure the appropriateness of the exam as well as administration of contrast media
Obtains contrast injection consent form from patient or family member prior to the injection of contrast material
Accountable for documentation of and charging for supplies used during the performance of exams or procedures.
Accountable for documentation of all patient information on appropriate forms for department records related to preservation of patient records, patient statistics, billing information and supplies
Assists in scheduling of exams
Documents confidential patient history to ensure appropriateness of exam and contrast media
Documents patient charge data, modifying and initiating charges as procedure modifications are made per the radiologist or ordering physician
Documents any allergic reaction, iv extravasations and initiates incident report regarding staff or patient situations
Maintains appropriate inventory levels of supplies, notifies ordering personnel in a timely manner when supplies need to be ordered
Accountable for being compliant with established Accrediting Organization, IEMA and department safety safety standards to ensure patients and staff well being at all times
Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medical supplies. Performs daily quality assurance scans on all scanners prior to use to ensure safety of scanners for patients and staff - Documents daily QA in logbook
Promotes patient safety by reporting issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.
Use correct scanning protocols, guidelines and technical factors to obtain the best quality diagnostic scan using the lowest possible radiation
Maintains fire safety standards
Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition - Knowledge of when to call Code Blue/Rapid Response
Maintains knowledge of departmental disaster and evacuation policies
Maintains and constantly implements standard precautions
Maintains documentation of equipment malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel
Attends mandatory in-services and department meetings.
Completion of all applicable of safety modules
Accountable for keeping state licensure (IEMA), certifications (ARRT) and CPR card current
Copy of licensure, certification and cpr cards will be given to coordinator or manager immediately.
All current associates will be required to pass the advanced CT certification examination by January 1, 2010
All associates hired after January 1, 2010 will be required to have advanced certification in CT or required to be CT advanced certified within 1 year of hire.
Accountable for keeping abreast of current CT procedures and new developments in the field of CT and sharing of information with staff, new hires and students.
Responsible for attending in-services and education seminars when appropriate.
Responsible for instructing other technologists on new techniques, protocols or procedures learned
Responsible for training of new staff and students
Accountable for coordinating the scheduling of inpatients, outpatients and ER patients to ensure efficient utilization of CT equipment and personnel
Works with inpatient and outpatient scheduling to adjust schedules as needed
Performs examinations in the following order STAT, Pending Discharge, Current Day, completes Routine exams in the order in which they are ordered.
Accountable for documentation of and charging for supplies used during the performance of exams or procedures.
Associated is expected to charge for supplies used during the performance of exams.
Education/Experience Required:
1 year general radiology preferred. ARRT registry IEMA license
CPR within in 3 months of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Basic knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and basic CT procedures Good oral and written communication skills Computer competent
ARRT registry IEMA license CPR certification (within 3 months of hire) Advanced CT Certification within one (1) year of hire
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to work overtime when needed and respond to work at short notice (eg. Disaster Call back) Ability to be flexible in starting times to meet departmental demands. (weekend rotation, flexible hours, other shifts) Ability to work weekends and holidays Ability to participate in on-call programs and available to department needs with minimal notice Ability to show excellent technical competence Ability to show computer competence and equipment skill competence (eg. power injector) Ability to practice high quality patient care - very good communication skills - follows age specific guidelines Ability to demonstrate very good oral and written communication skills Ability to deal with extremely ill patients - can handle stressful situations professionally Ability to make independent professional decisions using good judgement skills Ability to function independently with minimal assistance in performing job Attends education and safety inservices - completes all safety modules May be exposed to hazardous chemicals Exposed to radiation - follows radiation safety guidelines Ability to attend out of town site visits/training if needed Ability to do light, medium or heavy lifting Light: Lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently Medium: Lifting up to 20-50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds constantly Heavy: Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly This position will recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging. Prior experience with various age groups is preferred.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

In this highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide the very best care for our patients. The Chaplain is to provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff. You will be responsible for on-call duty and hospital rounding. Your Job Requirements:
• Masters of Theology (completed or in process) or Equivalent
• Minimum of one units of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE preferred) completed

Your Job Responsibilities:
• Participates in the ministry of the department by providing pastoral care, spiritual support, and emotional support to patients and families through regular rounding, clinical assignments and responding to all hospital codes.
• Coordinates and facilitates release and transport of deceased bodies to appropriate agency.
• Interfaces with external agencies/organizations inclusive of (but not limited to) funeral homes, Medical Examiners, Organ and Tissue donation, community support groups, religious organizations.
• Provides grief support and counseling as appropriate to deceased’s family and friends.
• Collaborates with local religious leaders, chaplain volunteers, visiting clergy, and spiritual caregivers.
• Participates in other pastoral and administrative duties as assigned under the direction of the clinical manager.

Our Boise Heart Care Clinic proudly cares for patients over the age of 55 diagnosed with conditions including coronary artery disease, hypertension, irregular heart rhythms, or congestive heart failure. Our clinic includes Electrophysiology, Echocardiogram, treadmill and nuclear stress tests, and lab services.
As an RN in this role, your typical day includes a variety of responsibilities, including treadmill stress tests, administering medication, triaging cardiac patients, education patients and scheduling cardiac procedures. RN's are also expected to serve as a mentor to clinical staff, maintain accurate documentation, and preserve confidential information.
Schedule: 4 10 hr shifts (M - F), varied day off
General Requirements:
Nursing experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
Education:
An associate or bachelor's degree from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
License/Certification:
Must have an RN license in the state of Idaho issued prior to hire date.
Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
All colleagues must provide licensure or proof of application in process for an Oregon RN license within 90 days of the hire date.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire

We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer focused teammate to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizations skills, effective communication, critical thinking and a commitment to excellent patient service while navigating complex insurance and authorization processes.
Essential Functions
- Completes referrals for patients and coordinates with referring and receiving practices and/or departments.
- May coordinate and prepare financial estimates for patients.
- Obtains all authorizations needed.
- Directs patients to providers in their insurance plan.
- Reviews benefits and educates patient on insurance coverage.
- Coordinates and schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, or other services within various departments with internal and ancillary providers.
- Reviews schedules and confirms schedules are accurate and time is properly allocated.

About the job:

SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communicates to nursing department to notify staff of patient transport which includes reviewing patient passport for completeness and understanding for clarification of handoff, checks patient identification using two-step verification, prepares patient for transport identifying IV bags, Foley catheters, or infusion pumps, etc., needing special handling.
- Maintains adequate supply of transport equipment in lobbies and equipment rooms, as appropriate. Clears equipment left on floors, in hallways and unauthorized areas by moving them to designated equipment storage areas or reporting the equipment to the dispatcher, as appropriate.
- Properly disposes of soiled linen on department and/or nursing unit and removes other items left on equipment such as urinals, bedpans, emesis basins, etc. Removes some equipment no longer needed for the patient care from the transport equipment and places it in the soiled utility room, as appropriate.
- Contributes towards improving department scores for patient satisfaction/experience on unit-based scorecard through peer-to-peer accountability and providing timely transports.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reports observations, conditions and problems of patients to licensed personnel to achieve desired patient outcomes. Provides for the privacy of patients and families, keeping the safety of the patient in mind.
- Disinfects equipment before and after each use, allowing sufficient time for the disinfectant to dry thoroughly.
- Transports and stores oxygen tanks in approved holders. In collaboration with clinical staff as appropriate, ensures that oxygen cylinders selected are appropriate for use to reflect the current airflow status. Completes patient handoff when returning to department.
- Operates all transport equipment in a safe manner. Tags equipment needing extensive repairs, takes damaged equipment out of service and delivers appropriately for repair.
- Reports any potential harm or conflicting information to management for input in Patient Safety Net (PSN). Supports initiatives to prevent conditions such as pressure injuries, patient falls, and hospital-acquired infections. Major Responsibilities:
- Reviews work queues to identify unscheduled ordered services and connects with the patient to schedule the appropriate service.
- Schedules appointments including complex specialty appointments and adheres to appropriate protocols. Communicates to the patient all pre and post appointment instructions (i.e., medication guidelines, food/beverage consumption guidelines, check in procedures, directions to facilities, etc.). Schedules the ordered medical service accurately and links order to appointment.
- Responsible for providing provider referrals to patients based on the ordered medical service and patient’s preferences.
- Responsible for documenting all contact attempts to schedule the ordered medical service in the patient’s electronic health record and adhering to department workflows and procedures for contact attempts. Responsible for notifying the ordering provider through telephone encounter in electronic health record when an ordered medical service is removed according to the department’s assigned removal reasons.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education Required:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
Experience Required:
- Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.

- lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
- lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
- carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to:
- push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
- perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Position requires use of foot pedals on carts or machines.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
