POSITION SUMMARY & HIGHLIGHTS:
Saint Alphonsus is looking to hire aRN (Registered Nurse) for our Orthopedic Joint Spine Trauma Unit 9C in Boise, Idaho. This unit has 32 beds and is dedicated to higher acuity cases – typically associated with complex trauma-related injuries, including multi-extremity and compound factures.
Self-Schedule: Full Time. Three 12-hour shifts per week. 7 to 7. Rotating Weekends
Introducing a new care model.
The unit operates under the Together Care Team Model, which includes Virtual RNs, bedside RNs, and CNAs, fostering a collaborative and supportive learning environment. This structure not only enhances patient care but also presents significant opportunities for professional growth into other specialties, such as Emergency Room and Critical Care.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provides professional nursing care in collaboration with members of the health care team in the ongoing assessment, planning and treatment of patients and families.
Utilizes resources wisely while promoting physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
In addition to providing hands-on nursing care, works and serves in a broad range of capacities including, but not limited to, delegation, assessment, planning of care and treatment, teaching of the patient and the patient’s family.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A current RN license is required.
Multistate licenses must establish residency with the Idaho Board of Nursing within 60 days from hire.
At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS)

Summary:

Additional Job Information:
Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communications skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: One (1) year of nursing experience required. Other Information: ** Department specific credentials - See below- ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate Required for those RNs administering chemotherapy. APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card required within 12 months of hire for those RNs administering chemotherapy for oncologic indication within the pediatric setting. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas. PALS required for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU.- if RN is coming from a non-pediatric background, they have 30 days from date of hire to obtain PALS. NRP certification required for NICU – if RN is coming from a non NICU background, they have 30 days from date of hire to obtain NRP. Certification in Fetal Monitoring through National Credential Center or through AWOHNN (Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D RNs must be completed prior to completion of job orientation. RN Fellowship Program requires one (1) year of RN independent practice not inclusive of nurse orientation. RN Fellowship specialties require ACLS and BLS Certifications. Staff RNs are pivotal members of the care delivery team headed by the physician and have specialized knowledge, skills and ability pertinent to ambulatory care patient needs. Scope of performance includes prioritization and triage of care delivery, implementing established standing orders and protocols, and performing procedures and therapies consistent with training and licensure. This position requires specialized knowledge and increased accountability, specific to high acuity and/or specialized patient populations (i.e. Instacares, Obstetrics, Infusion services, Sedation monitoring, etc).
Job Essentials
Assessment - Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status (including cognitive, communicative and developmental skills as appropriate); seeks and evaluates information acquired from other members of interdisciplinary team: patient (e.g., family, physician, non-nursing disciplines, support staff).
Planning -Uses assessment information and critical thinking skills to collaboratively develop individualized plan of care; actively seeks patient and family involvement to develop plan of care; collaboratively plans and prepares patients for further support; prepares patients for further support needs once the current episode of care outcomes are met (i.e., teaching, referrals, and follow-up).
Implementation - Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
Evaluation -Evaluates patient response to interventions through review of achievement of goals, clinical outcomes, patient and family satisfaction; revises plan of care as indicated, and reassesses changes as appropriate.
Professional Development - Promotes the nursing profession and participates in development of others; promotes an appropriate professional relationship between the nursing staff and physicians; integrates legal and ethical standards into practice: comply with regulatory standards and Intermountain policy, practice within scope of licensure, provide accurate & timely documentation, and understand legal implications of care delivery; meets initial, annual and ongoing competency requirements for job functions that are outside of basic RN training (i.e. clinical procedures, pertinent laboratory tests, use of equipment and supplies).

The Preop/PACU/PAT/PHASE 2 departments at Mount Carmel Dublin are unique. Position Purpose:
The Medical ICU at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s has a total of 12 beds with overflow available to SICU. This team sees a variety of patients, the majority of which have a diagnosis of one or a combination of the following: Sepsis, CHF, STEMI, Shock, Pneumonia, COVID, Multi-system Organ Failure, and ARDS. The goal ratio is 2pts to 1 nurse, with 1:1 or 3:1 on occasion. The team works closely with the dedicated ICU providers to ensure that patients receive top quality, multi-disciplinary ICU care during their stay in the unit.
The Registered Nurse RN, within the scope of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, will provide care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The Registered Nurse RN, collaborates in the spirit of teamwork is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the Organization.
What you will do:
Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.
Assesses and evaluates patient care for an assigned group of patients, utilizing evidence based practice. Collaborates with patient and family to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components.
Accurately communicates pertinent information to appropriate team members in a timely manner. Keeps patient/family apprised/updated.
Documents accurately and completely pertinent assessments, interventions and outcomes for patients in accordance with documentation standards, policies, procedures and/or guidelines.
Assumes responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed care givers as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from school of nursing.
Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
For Casual RNs 2 years of experience is required.
All new graduate nurses with less than one (1) year of clinical experience are subject to participate and will be automatically enrolled in the Nurse Residency Program.

- Uses facility/provider information and established policies and procedures to seamlessly link the patient experience between PACT and the practice site.
- Uses resources and critical thinking skills to assist inbound callers. Makes outbound calls when required or when follow up is deemed necessary.
- Has the ability to recognize complex problems and questions and escalates for resolution when needed. Performs basic technical troubleshooting in connection to online applications, systems, or access as requested to resolve issues.
- Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments and coordinating cancellations, reschedules, and additions to schedules. Obtains demographic and insurance information and verifies insurance coverage. Ensures insurance and patient information obtained is complete and accurate, updating information if necessary, applying acquired knowledge of government and third-party payer requirements.
- Completes all essential forms, obtains necessary information, such as patient demographic and insurance information. Verifies and updates the medical record with patient information.
- Identifies emergent calls based on information provided by caller and department procedures. Follows the process for immediate transfer to Registered Nurse for triaging. Responsible for competency in and adherence to guidelines for emergency situations and critical call handling.
- Determines the needs of patients calling the call center which results in routing patients for triage, scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling appointments, submitting medication refill requests for evaluation, and paging providers and facilities as appropriate.
- Provides customer service per established departmental standards as measured by patients on post call survey. Asks clarifying questions, presents options or solutions, and understands the level of complexity of the call, escalating only those situations necessary for resolution.
- Assists with organizational marketing efforts by providing associated information and referral to customer, while maintaining appropriate records for documentation. Conducts regular reporting and updating of the provider and marketing databases.
- Performs additional duties based on department needs.
- Maintains knowledge and efficient utilization of all information systems utilized by the department.

Evaluates, plans and performs treatments to alleviate physical dysfunction using manual, functional and physical agent modality techniques. Participates in departmental activities to assure smooth operations and facilitate program enhancement.I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Administers therapy evaluations and develops treatment plan for physically, developmentally and/or functionally disabled patient populations, including adults, geriatrics and frail elderly, inpatient and outpatient as assigned.
2. Analyzes and interprets data and assesses individually current functional ability. Researches specific problems as required and makes a differential diagnosis when appropriate. Consults with physician regarding any contradictions or alternative forms of therapy. Assesses patient's progress, as related to their rehabilitation potential.
3. Provides individualized treatment plans designed to prevent, restore, remediate or compensate for movement dysfunction including therapeutic exercises, progressive ROM, neuromuscular education and strengthening, manual therapy, cardiopulmonary conditioning, wound care, application of physical agent modalities, and functional mobility training. Evaluates need for bracing, supportive and positional equipment.
4. Educates patient, family and other caregivers in therapy program and goals. Participates in patient care meetings, collaborates with team members, assists with discharge planning. Documents care provided in medical record and completes therapy billing.
5. Completes departmental statistics. Assists in maintenance of orderly, safe and efficient working environment. Assists with inventory and purchasing as assigned.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from accredited PT school or equivalent.
2. Current license to practice physical therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. New graduates and out of state licensed physical therapists are
expected to obtain Massachusetts license within 6 months of hire date. Will need to work under the direct clinical supervision by a licensed physical therapist and have all notes co-signed until license has been obtained.
3. Successful completion of National Physical Therapy Board Examination.
