As a Patient Service Representative, you will work in conjunction with physicians and clinical staff to take care of patients’ administrative needs. Your primary responsibilities would include checking in patients for appointments, collecting patient co-pays, answering telephones, taking accurate messages, scheduling appointments, and checking insurance eligibility. Patient Service Representatives utilize our electronic record system to verify and update patient demographic information as well as posting and balancing of payments collected. Patient Service Representatives are friendly and provide excellent customer service, assuring that patients are informed and well cared for while waiting for their appointment, creating a positive experience for patients.
Position Details: This position will support both the Boise and Nampa Pulmonary Clinics; mainly at Boise with the occasional need to help in Nampa (off the Garrity exit). This will be a full time, 40 hour/week and Day shift position! Hours TBD
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience required. Healthcare experience preferred. Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus. Medical terminology preferred
- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred
Our Ideal Candidate: is friendly, detail oriented, a quick learner and has a passion for providing a high quality customer service experience to our patients. They will also need to utilize excellent communication skills while communicating with patients and families both in person and on the phone. The ability to provide superior customer service while utilizing independent decision making skills will be essential in this position.
What You Will Do:
- Acknowledges and greets patients immediately, providing a positive customer service experience
- Registers patients for appointments and completes paperwork
- Verifies and updates existing patient and insurance information
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival
- Informs patients immediately of delays, explains why, and the anticipated wait time
- Collect, record, and communicate to patients their responsible balances for visit, diagnostic testing, supplies, etc.
- Maintain knowledge of different payer practices and deductibles
- Assist patients with all aspects of Financial Assistance Paperwork
- Control credit extended to patients via a payment plan
- Maintain business office inventory and equipment and order supplies
- Maintain a neat work area including the reception area
- Optimize patient’s satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
- Handles multiple telephone lines effectively and politely per clinic standards
- Updates patient personal and insurance information, and notifies patients to bring insurance cards, identification, and co-payment to appointment
- Mail patient paperwork to new patients prior to appointment
- Interacts with patients via Patient Portal
- Scan incoming patient related documents into EHR
- Ability to process incoming and outgoing referral requests
- Files incoming medical reports and correspondence
- Assembles new patient medical records in accordance with policies and procedures
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
- Receives, processes, and documents referral requests to and from the office
- Sorts incoming faxes via Right Fax and routes
- Receives and routes record requests from others and makes requests on behalf of providers/patients

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is looking to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our incredible nursing team.
This position is in our Clinical Float Pool located at our Regional Medical Center off I-184 and Curtis Rd. This position requires someone who has a "can-do" attitude and is a natural problem solver. We're looking for someone who can learn quickly and loves to take on a new challenge every day! You'll be supporting almost every area of the hospital, so the ability to be flexible and teachable will take you far in this position.
Schedule: This is a temporary PRN position. Hours are from 7:00pm-7:30am per week. Must be flexible to work a varied schedule, this includes weekdays, weekends, and holidays
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- You will support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination.
- You will perform various nursing care services and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients, as those of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) under the direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho OR complete the Trinity Health Nursing Assistant Program required
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
- Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).

Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.

Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.

May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.

- You will perform various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients under the direction and supervision of the RN.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing required
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- You will support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination.
- You will perform various nursing care services and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients, as those of the Nurse Apprentice under the direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho OR complete the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

The APP will join an established, collaborative team consisting of two physicians and one APP, offering the opportunity to build surgical experience while working alongside physicians with deep experience serving the Lincoln community.
Position Highlights
- Full-time, 1.0 FTE
- Monday-Friday schedule with no nights, weekends, or call
- Hybrid inpatient/outpatient general surgery position
- Typical schedule includes approximately: 3 days of outpatient clinic 2 days of inpatient care/OR assistance
- Outpatient clinic hours are generally 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
- Inpatient/OR days may begin at approximately 7:00 AM
- Assist physicians in the operating room

What You’ll Do
The APP will support the General Surgery team across the continuum of inpatient and outpatient care. This position provides a varied workweek for an APP interested in maintaining both clinical and surgical responsibilities rather than working exclusively in an inpatient or outpatient setting.
