Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Clinic RN at our MercyOne Clinton Medical Center Health Plaza.
As a Clinic RN at MercyOne, you will provide patient care in outpatient settings and are responsible for delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They coordinate care provided by other clinical staff, support patient and family education, and ensure communication across healthcare teams. They are accountable for clinical standards and may operate with minimal supervision.
Schedule:
- Full time 40 hours a week
- M-F 8a-4:30p
- No weekends or Holidays
General Requirements:
- Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
- Plans, assesses, intervenes, and provides direct patient care using critical thinking and nursing processes (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments (physical, psychosocial, nutritional, functional, safety, spiritual, cultural, educational). Makes nursing decisions based on patient status and care needs.
- Administers medications and treatments safely via multiple routes (oral, IM, SC, ID, IV, inhalation, topical, ocular, optic, sublingual, nasal) and documents accordingly.
- Performs nursing care, lab and diagnostic tests, specimen collection, phlebotomy, and limited radiology procedures following policies and universal precautions.
- Assists providers with patient care, phone/mail/fax communications, scheduling, consents, admissions, referrals, and outpatient procedures.
- Communicates and collaborates with physicians, staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding care plans and patient needs.
- Educates patients, families, and clinical staff on treatments, medications, test preparation, discharge, and health maintenance; documents education and evaluates understanding.
- Participates in staff meetings, committees, quality improvement, risk management, and performance improvement projects.
- Maintains documentation accuracy and completeness in EMR: assessments, vitals, symptoms, treatments, medications, education, charges, lab results, histories, and consults.
- Maintains and monitors supplies, equipment, medication stock, and office machines; follows maintenance and quality control protocols; reports malfunctions.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to urgent/emergency patient needs and initiates emergency procedures.
- Other duties as needed and assigned by the manager.
- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Education:
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Active RN License in the state of Iowa; Licensure from other states may be required based on location. Compact State License acceptable where applicable.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served within 3 months of hire.
- Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows environment, web-based navigation, email, MS Office).
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patient, visitors, and colleagues while performing their job duties.
- Completion of specialty classes or proof of other certifications required for some roles.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

Position Purpose:
The Hospice RN Case Manager provides professional nursing care to the organization’s hospice clients as prescribed by the physician, and/or requested by the client/family, and in compliance with the state’s Nurse Practice Act, any applicable licensure/certification requirements, and the organization’s policies and procedures. The RN is fully responsible for the client assessment, care planning, therapeutic intervention, and overall supervision of client care and outcomes, is designated as the case manager for hospice patients. The Hospice RN in collaboration with the physician and other Hospice team members anticipates and manages patient’s symptoms, assists in identifying pt/family/caregiver grief/loss issues and assists in implementing the Hospice plan of care. Provides functional support to Hospice Aides and LPN/LVNs as needed.
What You Will Do:
- Informs the client/caregiver about the agency, care/services available, client obligation for payment, and other responsibilities and rights, before care is initiated. Accurately explains/understands the Hospice Benefit.
- Develops and implements an individualized Plan of Care that incorporates realistic, and attainable goals that is also outcome-focused so that the services provided will improve the patient’s quality of life and promote dignity.
- Makes appropriate referrals for evaluation/care to other disciplines and services, and coordinates care with others to ensure effective and efficient care is provided.
- Utilizes interview, observation, and evaluation in assessing clients and applies nursing judgment, practice standards, in formulating nursing interventions and making recommendations to the physician, client/family and IDT/IDG.
- Reports changes in client condition as appropriate and in a timely manner, to the client’s physician and/or Case Manager/designee and obtains orders for changes in the plan of treatment to respond to the client’s condition.
- Re-evaluates and updates patient’s plan of care based on patient goals and progress towards outcomes.
- Assess patient and family learning styles and needs for teaching regarding disease process, self-care, end of life care, and dealing with ethical concerns as well as patient goals as part of plan of care.
- Responds appropriately to changes in patient’s physical, psychological, or spiritual conditions.
- Models’ teamwork to accomplish to accomplish organizational goals and provide quality patient care.
- Demonstrates respect for cultural diversity in all care delivery and communication with co-workers, patients, and families.
- Maintains and enhances knowledge of pain and symptom management in hospice and palliative care patients, utilizing evidence-based protocols and standing guidelines per policy.
- Adequately prepares patients and families regarding the expected disease process.
- Provides anticipatory education and guidance to patients and families regarding the death and dying process.
- Accurately documents observations, interventions and evaluations pertaining to client care management and services in accordance with agency policy and procedure utilizing the point of care information system. This will include assessments, visit reports, medication information, treatments, coordination of services, client progress or lack of progress toward goals, and contacts with physicians and agency and community providers.
- Takes appropriate steps to assure timely submission of client data to the office for inclusion in the client record (by timely electronic transmission of data, or when appropriate by fax or mail).
- Documentation reflects progress towards patient/family goals.
- Documents all collaborative contact with physicians and other members of IDT/IDG team.
- Assures that documentation and orders are up to date and completed in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Nursing education program
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice.
- Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience as a professional acute care nurse.
- Home healthcare/hospice experience preferred.
- Exhibits strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a special emphasis on grief/loss management.
- Must have current Driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work site.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate commitment to the mission and Organizational Code of Ethics and adhere to the Compliance Program.

Position Purpose:
The PCA, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care.
Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. The PCA assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.
The Inpatient Rehab units at Chelsea Hospital care for patients requiring comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation after traumatic brain injuries, cerebral vascular accidents, amputations, debility, poly trauma or spinal cord injuries. Inpatient Rehab is a collaborative program between Chelsea Hospital and University of Michigan Health, staffed by a team of award-winning U-M Health rehab physicians and Chelsea Hospital nurses, therapists, and specialists.
Our Inpatient Rehabilitation unit has recently expanded to a 40-bed unit and is now accepting higher acuity patients. As part of our commitment to excellence in patient care, we are proud to be participating in the Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model System.
Shift Available: 6:30am-3:00pm
Status Available: Part time, benefit eligible (48 hours per pay period – every two weeks)
Weekend and holiday commitments required
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Recent experience desired.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, lifting greater than 35 pounds using mechanical assistance

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position operates diagnostic imaging equipment to obtain quality digital images of designated body portions for interpretation by physicians.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Confirms patient identity is correct, checks in patients, schedules appointments. Creates Radiology Module. Greets and courteously escorts patient and other guests to examination room. Interprets patient histories and physician instructions. Prepares patients for procedures utilizing aseptic and sterile technique. Positions patients for radiologic examination. Selects exposure factors, takes exposure and processes images. Practices radiation protection. Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures through the application of ionizing radiation to produce digitized images. May operate diagnostic bone density equipment to obtain pertinent information and images necessary for interpretation by physician per ISCD (International Society of Clinical Densitometry) criteria. Records pertinent information on requisitions. Directly enters medication, laboratory, and/or radiology orders into the electronic medical record per state, local and professional guidelines. Responds to patient emergencies as needed. Cleans work area, examination rooms and equipment as needed; performs limited maintenance of equipment. Performs image-management duties within the PACS system and NextGen, as required. Documents patient information in a timely and accurate manner to ensure continuity of high quality health care. The Surgical Technician is responsible for preparing the operating room for the surgical procedure including the instruments, equipment, and supplies. They must maintain the sterile field during the surgical procedure. Will scrub more general cases which may include general surgery, gynecology, urology, podiatry, and plastics. May also be 2nd, 3rd or 4th scrub in all surgical specialties. About the job:
Multi-skilled Technician under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities. - Maintains and monitors supplies, equipment, medication stock, and office machines; follows maintenance and quality control protocols; reports malfunctions.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to urgent/emergency patient needs and initiates emergency procedures.

- Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
Education:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- You will support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination.
- You will perform various nursing care services and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients, as those of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) under the direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho OR complete the Trinity Health Nursing Assistant Program required
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
- Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).

The Waterloo Birth Center consists of labor & delivery, postpartum care, and a Level III NICU. We are a 23 bed unit, with 19 of those rooms being large LDRP that allow for families to stay in one room for the entire stay. We have a two room OR suites for patients needing a c-section. We are one of a very few integrated neonatal intensive care units in the nation. Our NICU infants remain in the LDRP room with the family. This allows for true family centered care and bonding while both recover after delivery. We are blessed with a team of providers that consist of OBGYN doctors and midwives. We have a below average primary c-section rate and a high VBAC success rate.
As a Level III NICU, we provide care to infants 28+ weeks gestation. We also have a NICU transport team that typically will help transport infants from smaller hospitals to our NICU when a higher level of care is needed.
As a NICU RN at MercyOne, you will provide specialized, evidence-based, and outcome-focused care to critically ill and premature newborns in a dynamic and supportive environment. Using advanced critical thinking and neonatal expertise, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care while supervising and coordinating the NICU nursing team.
You will collaborate with neonatologists, pediatric specialists, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and optimal outcomes for vulnerable newborns. By conducting thorough assessments, identifying patient needs, and developing goal-oriented care plans, you will support neonates through critical stages of growth and development. Your ability to monitor and respond to complex conditions, provide family education, and adjust care plans as needed will help ensure the best possible outcomes for every newborn in your care.
Education:
Associate degree required, BSN preferred. No prior experience required. Current Iowa RN license, BLS, Mandatory Reporter. NRP. ALCS

- Performs routine personal care activities for patients, which includes but not limited to; bathing, dressing and undressing, skin, nail, hair, osmotic, and simple wound care, shaving, oral hygiene, and care of catheter and drainage bag.
- Responsible for obtaining patient's temperature, pulse and respiratory rate and for obtaining patient's fluid intake and output. Documents/updates patient's care and health information.
- Assists patients with transfer in and out of bed, chair, bathroom, and/or wheelchair and with range of motion exercises of upper and lower extremities. Assists patient in using bedpan, urinal or commode, and in turning and repositioning.
- Assists patients with planning and preparing meals, feeding and testing of his/her urine for sugar and acetone.

Position: Public Safety Officer I - Armed
Location: ACL Labs; Rosemont, IL.
Full Time; 1st shift
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides security services with a customer-service approach, focusing on professionalism, fairness, and compassion even in challenging circumstances and in accordance with policies, procedures, and training.
- Inspires confidence in patients, visitors, and team members by presenting a professional, approachable, and service-oriented appearance and demeanor. Is alert, observant, and ethical. Complies with and enforces all safety and security rules and regulations. Maintains Department uniform and equipment in good repair.
- Performs routine responsibilities during interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security, including but not limited to inspections to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions, audits of Interim Life Safety Measures, patient valuables management, and thorough contraband searches. Assists team members, patients, and visitors by providing information, directions, and physical help. Ensures traffic control, monitors conduct of visitors on premises and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning.
- Prevents, responds to, and investigates workplace violence. Responds to service calls, such as combative or threatening patients or visitors and team member incidents.
- Serves as a primary resource for de-escalation, utilizing use of force when necessary (e.g. conducted electrical weapon (CEW), handcuffing.)
- Performs key responsibilities to plan, prevent, practice, and respond to emergencies such as lost or abducted infants/children, fire, and active threats.
- Responds immediately to emergency and crisis situations; physically intervenes in accordance with training to situations that have a potential for injury.
- Investigates incidents that occur on Advocate Health property and completes timely and accurate reports. Addresses and escalates complaints to the appropriate leader and provides supporting documentation.
- Performs liaison rounding duties to cultivate close partnerships with all departments and units. Delivers security awareness education to team members to leverage their assistance in the overall security of the site.
- Liaisons with federal, state, and local law enforcement and first responder agencies. Coordinates, briefs, and monitors every law enforcement prisoner patient guard to ensure policy compliance and prevent unsafe practices.
- Maintains current Department training standards in radio communications, verbal de-escalation, hemorrhage control (e.g. “STOP the BLEED”), CPR, application of clinical restraints, conducted energy weapon (e.g. TASER), to include training on any/all department-issued equipment and/or requirements identified in training academy and the Annual Training Plan.
- Assists with exterior traffic and crowd control, including parking enforcement, valet parking assist, and vehicular assistance.
- Utilizes Interview and Interrogation tactics to uncover information about incidents that have occurred.
- Completes patrolling with a community-oriented approach.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) issued by the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) must be obtained on a one-time basis within two years of appointment to this role. Recertification is not required.
- For North Carolina teammates, an Armed Guard License issued by NC Private Protective Services maintained through training and competency assessments.
- For Illinois teammates: Firearm Owners Identification Card (FOID) issued by the Illinois State Police.
- For Wisconsin teammates: Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) license issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ)
- For Illinois teammates, must meet State of IL Department of Financial and Professional Regulation licensing requirements and able to obtain a Firearm Control Card (FCC) for Proprietary Personnel within 90 days of hire.
- A valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicle.
- Certified in Conducted Energy Weapon (e.g. TASER) use within 90 days of hire and periodically thereafter.

- Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgment and sound reasoning while maintaining a courteous and tactful demeanor in dealings with teammates, visitors, and patients, even if they are verbally aggressive persons
- Demonstrated experience in quickly assessing dangerous situations and taking appropriate action.
- Demonstrated ability in verbal and written communications.
- Ability to use a computer to document work (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, navigating a web page, and database entry).
