Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.

The New Graduate RN Residency Program at Banner Health has received the highest accreditation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program® (PTAP). Banner Health’s New Nurse Experience (NNE) provides a collaborative learning environment where you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and transition from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health.
About our program:
The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships.
Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. We offer all of our New Grads multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities to achieve your long-term career goals. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there! The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! New Grads will also need to live within a reasonable commute distance of the facility they are hired into.
Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members.

Benefits/Compensation:
This is a full time, benefitted, and paid position. Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. All New Grad RN positions are eligible for Banner Health’s “Total Rewards Compensation Package”, which includes Health/Dental/Vision insurance (if employee desires), PTO/Sick time accrual, 401K, and a long list of other benefits. Unit Description:
The Cardiothoracic PCU Unit (6EW) is a unit specializing in the care of adult post-surgical cardio-thoracic patients. In addition, the patient population consists of those recovering from the standard coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) and valve replacements to the cutting edge minimally invasive robot assisted bypass and lung resection. Some of the surgical cases you will care for include those recovering from: heart and lung transplant, thoracotomy, major resections for cancer of the lungs and esophagus, Complex aortic surgery, including aortic dissection, Valvular heart surgery, endovascular repair of thoracic aortic aneurysms, and minimally invasive thoracic surgery, including video-assisted thoracoscopic (VATS) lobectomy for lung cancer and for resection of mesothelioma (extra pleural pneumonectomy). Staff on this unit have specialty training in the management of patients placed on the total artificial heart and left ventricular assist devices to treat end-stage heart failure. This program is Joint Commission Certified, and one of only a few in the state to offer this highly innovative treatment option. Patient care is achieved through teamwork from a dynamic group of highly skilled nurses and technicians and in conjunction with physicians from Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine, Vascular Surgery, and Oncology, licensed mid-level practitioners, case managers, social workers, and therapists to offer the latest in multidisciplinary care. This is for a Day Shift, 7:00AM -7:30PM.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Banner Estrella Observation Unit Description:
The Observation PCU Unit at Banner Estrella Medical Center strives to provide a highly coordinated experience for our patients; consistent care in providing ongoing short-term treatment, assessment and reassessment while a decision is being made whether further treatment is needed as a hospital inpatient. Seeing 50% of the patients from the ED, this is a fast pace unit where nurses and physicians work collaboratively to meet the needs of our patients. About our program:
The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships.
Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. We offer all of our New Grads multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities to achieve your long-term career goals. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there! The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! New Grads will also need to live within a reasonable commute distance of the facility they are hired into.
Most new nurses will work three 12-hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members.

About this Unit:
The position is for the 6th floor Medical/Surgical Specialty Unit. We have a 43 bed inpatient medical surgical high acuity unit. We care for medical surgical patients who could be here with a wide range of diagnoses: wounds, hospice, post-op gynecological or urological surgeries, peritoneal dialysis patients, infections, oncology patients, cardiac/telemetry patients, the list is expansive. All of our new graduate nurses will complete Med/Surg Academy, Progressive Care Academy, and Oncology Academy with many more learning opportunities available. Nursing to patient ratio, depends on acuity, and could be 5-6 patients. The RN is responsible for all care and has oversight to delegate tasks to PCAs and LPNs on shift when able. Ratio: 1:5-6 based on patient acuity.
Benefits/Compensation:
This is a Full Time Night Shift (7PM-7:30AM), benefitted, and paid position. Enjoy a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. All New Grad RN positions are eligible for Banner Health’s “Total Rewards Compensation Package”, which includes Health/Dental/Vision insurance (if employee desires), PTO/Sick time accrual, 401K, and a long list of other benefits. POSITION SUMMARY

This position demonstrates advanced Medical Imaging Assistant knowledge within multiple departments. This position is responsible for assisting clinicians, technologists and nursing staff by performing non-technical, patient and procedure-related duties and providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience for an assigned patient care area which promote an organized, efficient delivery of care to patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance to Clinician, RN or Technologist with exams and clinic procedures which may include obtaining necessary supplies, ensuring procedure rooms are stocked appropriately, escorting patient to exam room, acting as a chaperone, taking patients vitals and history, as well as performing phlebotomies, IV insertion and discontinuation, Point of Care Testing (POCT) and setting up sterile procedural trays to assist in procedures with the Clinician. Adheres to radiation safety policies. Responsible for clarifying orders and monitoring patient schedules for accuracy prior to time of appointment.
2. Works within multiple departments including, but not limited to; MRI, CT, PET/CT, Breast IR procedures (MRI, US, Stereo, wirelocs, radioactive seeds, tag placements, FNA's, cystic drainage, etc.). May assist in IR procedures such as breast biopsies (MRI, US and mammography), thryoid biopsies and arthrograms. Maintains proficiency with the biopsy procedure manual for all biopsy exams. Is responsible for the handling and documentation of all tissue/fluid specimens as well as supplemental pathology documentation needed by affiliated labs. Properly disposes of all needles, medications and bodily fluids. May be required to perform ABI as well as participate in LSTAT training.
3. Assists in researching patient history and reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the Clinician, RN or Technologist and would adjust the procedure. Proposes orders to primary care clinician as needed for continuation of care.
4. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer and discharge information, progress notes, consent forms and enters patient information in the computer. Digitizes, formats, and uploads film-based or digital images into PACS. Provides support in the acquisition and distribution of digital patient records by fulfilling requests for images and reports ensuring availability in system, hard copy (film), and/or CD as required and follows proper protocols for releasing confidential patient information.
5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exams rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer’s recommended and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs. Adheres to radiation safety policies, uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times as well as personal protective equipment as needed.
6. Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas including frequently used patient education materials. Monitors inventory including medication (e.g., expired medications/equipment and recalls).
7. Performs and provides documentation for safe procedure checklist and Time Out with technologist.
8. Performs all post procedure care and education including bandaging area, aftercare instructions, follow up results and treatment.
9. This position assists in the operations of the medical imaging department under direct supervision with technologists and nurses in department. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Must navigate a variety of separate computer programs at any given time and handle multiple demands on time. Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, non-clinic providers and facilities, vendors, patients and family members.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Certification for BLS is required.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients' nutritional needs, to include nutrition-focused physical exams as appropriate, with at least 50% of patient case load in designated specialty area. Obtains timely and appropriate data and analyzes/interprets data based on evidence-based standards and established practice guidelines.
2. Demonstrates and maintains competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols and oral nutrition management standard of practice as demonstrated by successful completion of initial competency exams and ongoing evaluation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess knowledge of nutrition and dietetics demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent coursework. Must be a Registered Dietitian based on academic and professional requirements as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Effective January 1, 2024, CDR requires a minimum of Master's degree to be eligible to take the registration examination. Must hold current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and be able to maintain ongoing registration while providing verification of registration annually. Maintains current licensure as required by State law.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Identifies medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. Receives, checks-in, and restocks medications ordered through the wholesaler and other vendors verifying all quantities against invoices. Assesses practical ways to deal with shorted items and short-dated or unusable items.
2. Manages users within the automated dispensing technology database as per policy. Investigates discrepancies and troubleshoots malfunctions in automated dispensing technology.
3. Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills and is customer service oriented in all contacts with patients, visitors and staff. Responds to standard requests from internal customers. Interacts primarily with department personnel, cross-department personnel, internal customers, patients and physicians.
4. May use automated dispensing technology or requisition to restock medications to nursing and ancillary areas after checking by a pharmacist. When allowed by law and policy, and upon completion of proper training/competency assessment, may restock automated dispensing technology using barcode scanning verification devices. Restocks medications to all areas outside automated dispensing technology which may include but not limited to trays, code carts and emergency boxes.
5. Compounds non-sterile medication products. Understands and appropriately follows all product worksheets/recipes for documentation and check processes. Understands and adheres to all applicable USP compounding guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently performs calibrations of equipment and accurately measures components for compounding. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of medications compounded and repackaged per policy.
6. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
7. Ensures the proper use of garbing and compounding techniques in accordance with policies and has knowledge of basic principles within USP <797> and USP<800>, laws, policies, and procedures that pertain to compounding. Performs compounding and labeling of intravenous compounds and hazardous agents to include chemotherapy using proper sterile and aseptic technique as appropriate to the site of care. Understands the different product lines in sterile compounding (patient specific and non-patient specific batch) and the differences between the various populations (Adult, Pediatric, Neonate). Completes all required environmental cleaning procedures. Documents all required tasks and other information per policy. Understands the safe handling of hazardous drugs and demonstrated the correct receipt, storage, labelling and transport process.
8. Handles narcotic medications following all federal and legal requirements as set through policy and procedure. Understands all regulatory requirements for receiving, compounding, repackaging, and distribution for controlled substances. Consistently adheres to all storage and inventory movement documentation requirements for controlled substances.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. 5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. 6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. POSITION SUMMARY

Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
6. Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.
8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. 3A is a 24 bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that serves patients with medically complex cardiac needs. The vast majority of the patients in the PCU require continuous cardiac monitoring. Ratio flex between 1:4-5, however most of the time ratios are 1:4. The Progressive Care Unit at Banner Estrella Medical Center is currently seeking experienced PCU Nurses, but at this time we are accepting application for those that have Telemetry, ICU, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Medical/Surgical or any other acute or critical care background. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards for professional practice and certification. The position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. This position delivers lactation education and provides individualized direct patient and family education. Works in coordination with staff to select and deliver current patient education materials based on identified needs. Provides community and staff education in the specialty area of lactation. Acts as subject matter expert for patients and staff.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and outlined in policy.
2. Provides care and works collaboratively with patients, family and staff to formulate individualized lactation plans of care, education and intervention.
3. Delivers continuing education programs related to lactation. Suggests updates to educational materials based on needs assessment, advances in theory and technology as well as changes in standards of care related to lactation.
4. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goal for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family.
