The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator.
*FULL-TIME DAY or NIGHT SHIFT PCTs NEEDED*
Unit Description:
We specialize in Telemetry- monitoring heart rhythms. PCTs are cross-trained to the Telemetry tech role and all RNs are certified in telemetry. We care for a full spectrum of medical issues, including diabetes, infectious diseases, electrolyte imbalances, gastroenterological, respiratory, cardiac, kidney, and liver maladies. We are a fast-paced unit that increases your critical thinking skills and help you to pursue your career goals.

Essential Functions
- Prioritize and deliver basic patient care, including toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, fresh water and ice, ambulating, comfort measures, and other patient needs, while providing excellent customer service when responding to patient and family requests.
- Reports and records patient care findings and data in a timely manner. Reports changes in the patient condition quickly and secures qualified assistance as needed.
- May perform telemetry duties as required based on the unit, and function as a patient care attendant by monitoring patients, addressing patient care needs, and collaborating with other members of the patient care team as required.
- Transport medications from the delivery system to the RN as required when working on a clinical unit.
- Collaborate and consult with the RN and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
- May assume the responsibilities of a health unit coordinator, including answering phones, transcribing physician orders, managing unit records, organizing, stocking, and maintaining unit supplies.
- Implements plan of care as delegated.
- Performs assigned duties within Scope of Practice. Performs specialized procedures with skill validation and according to regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
At the time of hire, Utah candidates must meet one of the following:
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certification in the state of Utah.If CNA certificate is expired, must be renewed before start date.
- Completion of a recent Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program.Verification of CNA program completion is required (program must have been completed within the past (1) year).CNA certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
- Completion of a Fundamentals of Nursing Course.Must have earned a passing grade within the past two (2) years. Official transcript is required.CNA certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior CNA experience or applicable healthcare experience.
- Current enrollment in nursing school program.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Primary Children's Center for Safe and Healthy Families is an integrated medical and behavioral health clinic dedicated to serving children and adolescents who have experienced child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief. Safe and Healthy Families provides specialized, evidence-based outpatient mental health treatment within a multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare setting.
The Mental Health Therapist will provide assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children, adolescents, and their caregivers. Therapists work collaboratively with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support healing and resilience following experiences of abuse, neglect, trauma, loss, and other adverse childhood experiences.

Essential Functions
- Provide evidence-based outpatient mental health therapy to children and adolescents with histories of child maltreatment, trauma, and/or grief.
- Complete comprehensive behavioral health assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation.
- Deliver trauma-informed individual, family, and caregiver-focused interventions as clinically indicated.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Utilize evidence-based treatment approaches to address trauma-related symptoms, behavioral concerns, emotional regulation, grief, and family functioning.
- Engage caregivers as active participants in treatment and support implementation of therapeutic recommendations.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and payer requirements.
- Participate in clinical consultation, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive therapeutic environment for patients and families.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social work or related field. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified. Current state licensure (as required by state) as LCSW, CMHC or LMFT.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer Skills, i.e., email, word processing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with patients, families, and treatment teams.
- Dual licensure with current state licensure as LAC
- Montana Only: Current state licensure as a MHPP.

Minimum Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- With assistance, prepares and processes new IRB research proposals, amendments, continuing review applications and adverse event reports according to institutional and departmental policies and procedures and federal regulations
- Prepares and maintains documents required to be maintained and available internally and for regulatory authorities and/or the sponsor prior to, during and after the conduct of a clinical/translational trial. Participates in periodic site visits from sponsor, regulatory authorities and others to review research, source documentation and research procedures

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtains and documents a health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care.
- In collaboration, provides healthcare services for primary, acute and complex care of patients and manages patients’ overall care, identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses.
- Orders, performs, interprets and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.

The Department of Health Policy is seeking qualified health policy data analyst candidates to provide support for complex quantitative research projects in health policy, public health, or related disciplines under occasional faculty guidance. This position utilizes intermediate level research skills to perform a variety of quantitative research activities including data management, analysis of quantitative data, and report preparation.The ideal candidate will work well with multiple faculty members and projects simultaneously, be self-directed, think critically about complex data, proactively identify and resolve problems, and complete assignments in a timely manner. Familiarity with administrative healthcare claims data is requested, experience with T-MSIS analytic files in particular is desired.
In addition to creating analytic datasets from dissimilar data sources, the responsibilities of this position will include quantitative and written data analysis on issues of current policy interest, including health reform, Medicare/Medicaid spending and utilization patterns, health information technology, population health, and health care disparities. Examples of projects may include:

- Liaison of communication between front desk staff, nursing staff, physicians, and clinic manager
- Manage the care of the patient population by developing expected patient outcomes, defining appropriate resource utilization, and working with the provider to set patient goals.

The Ambulatory Clinic RN Care Coordinator is a licensed registered professional nurse who is a clinical expert who provides ethical, evidence-based, safe and compassionate nursing care. The Ambulatory Clinic RN Care Coordinator focuses on patient safety and the quality of nursing care by identifying and clarifying patient needs, performing clinic related patient care, conducting health education, promoting patient advocacy, coordinating healthcare services, and evaluating patient outcomes. The RN Care Coordinator will provide support to their assigned physicians by communicating with the patient/family/caregiver and relaying the information to the physician. They will provide support and nursing care services during the physician's clinic sessions and ensuring the patient/family/caregiver understands the plan of care. They will verify all orders placed during the clinic session have been completed and the physician has been notified of the results. This role will focus on navigation for patients new to cardiology including identifying appropriate provider, obtaining history and medical records, preparing chart to visit, and scheduling patient.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Responsible for management of patient flow, triage, and direct patient care.
- Liaison of communication between front desk staff, nursing staff, physicians, and clinic manager
- Manage the care of the patient population by developing expected patient outcomes, defining appropriate resource utilization, and working with the provider to set patient goals.
- Provide nursing support/coordination to the practice to optimize patient outcomes and to improve patient’s quality of life through clinical and educational programs and/or support services.

- Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.

Hematology/Stem Cell ClinicJob Summary:
This position is for a clinic RN in the Hematology Clinic. This RN is responsible for managing message baskets, triaging patients, assisting their provider in clinic, and ensuring patients labs, appointments, and treatments are scheduled and monitored. The PRN requirement is 2-8-or-10-hour shifts per week. No weekends or holidays.Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.

- Evidence-Based Practice (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully search for evidence to answer clinical questions. Generally works under the direction of others while accomplishing assignments.
- Care Planning (Novice): Demonstrates ability to anticipate resource needs, identify distinct tasks, set priorities, schedule activities, meet deadlines, and organize work within areas of direct responsibility. Competently handles multiple assignments often simultaneously by prioritizing work into manageable and measurable units. Ability to adapt to changes to patient care and area needs with minimal disruption and loss of productivity. Follows up to assure problems and issues are resolved.
- Nursing Patient Education (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency in providing patient education in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Conducts primary care patient interviews and physical examinations. Demonstrates sufficient acumen to recognize problems, ask questions and to contact the patient's primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team. Has experience in gathering pertinent clinical data that aid in referral, treatment, or other primary care pathways.
