SHIFT DAYS/HOURS: This position has 24/7 accountability of the department. Typical work week is M-F with day-time hours. Occasional nights or weekends may be required to effectively supervise and manage staff. Subject to change based on business necessity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Ensures that the department complies with all certifications, accreditation, and licensing standards.
Serves as the Trauma Program Manager and maintains the Level IV Trauma Registry
Develops and maintains departmental policies and procedures and interprets them to personnel, patients, medical staff and the public.
Develops annual budget, anticipating needs, trends and staffing requirements.
Maintains accurate records, reports and pertinent statistical data regarding services provided and performs a continual needs analysis and evaluation of the Nursing Department which includes QHI Emergency Department Data and STRATUS import monthly.
Develops, implements, and monitors ongoing quality assurance program for the Nursing Department. Creates PACE forms to document quality projects and maintains quality calendars for the department.
Supervises Nursing personnel, insuring they provide patient care and treatment according to Hospital Policies and Procedures.
Maintains correct and continuous identification of all patients. Works with the nursing staff to provide guidance in proper documentation in the electronic health record and any other patient documentation
Ensures accurate consents and releases prior to treatment and emergency treatment.
Makes recommendations to the CNO, CFO, CEO, and Medical Staff regarding the purchase of new equipment and necessary to maintain a high level of patient care.
Ensures that equipment is maintained in optimum working condition
Attends nurse executive, peer review, nurse manage meetings. Attends other meetings as necessary.
Determines the appropriate staff mix for department and develops processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff. Ensures on going staff development. Manages and resolves human resource, employee and department safety, and risk management issues while evaluating performance and assuring clinical competency and, if needed disciplinary action.
Completes department staffing schedule and ensures that the department is staffed at a level safe for quality patient care.
Teaches and instructs patients and family in patient care.
Supervises charting of patient electronic health record and other documentation
Functions as a staff nurse when needed and is a clinical expert in the department on all equipment, standards, policies and procedures.
Maintains effective working relationships, communication and collaborative decision making with medical staff, other departments, leaders, staff, and others.
Other duties as assigned.

About Speak Up Speech Therapy
Speak Up Speech Therapy is an established pediatric private practice located in Clackamas, conveniently located just off I-205.
Our clinic serves children and adolescents with a wide range of communication and feeding needs, including:

Responsibilities
* Complete comprehensive speech and language evaluations for pediatric clients.
* Develop individualized treatment plans and functional goals.
* Provide evidence-based speech, language, communication, and/or feeding therapy based on your areas of competency.
* Complete timely clinical documentation.
* Educate and collaborate with parents and caregivers.
* Communicate with physicians, educators, therapists, and other professionals as appropriate.
* Monitor progress and modify treatment plans based on each child's needs.
* Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with Oregon licensure requirements and ASHA guidelines.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
* Current or eligible Oregon Speech-Language Pathologist license.
* Pediatric experience preferred.
* Two or more years of experience preferred, although strong candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply.
* Strong Clinical Fellowship candidates may be considered.
* *Bilingual Spanish/English skills are highly valued and preferred.*

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide competency based training to staff, teachers, family members, and others as necessary on the implementation of behavior programming, including current BIP and required data collection
* Monitor the provision of behavior programming
* Assist staff to maintain a family home atmosphere and motivate to lead by example.
* Ensure compliance with all state, local, and funding source standards.
* Follow all safety procedures. Use safety procedures when moving individuals during behavioral crisis.

* Attend meetings and advocate for individuals to assist in the development of goals that are functional, obtainable, and chosen by the individual.
* Maintain communication and collaboration with, family members, social support systems, and service providers as appropriate.
* Attend, participate, and facilitate, as requested, Home-based services department meetings, required training, case reviews, staff meetings, and other meetings as requested. Self-monitor training records to ensure that all required certifications/validations are current. Check email account during each work day and respond to all communication promptly.
* Follow, model, and be able to train others in all Autism Therapeutic Services programs, policies and procedures.
* Available to parents, Senior Technician and staff by phone when there is an emergency or urgent need
* Support staff in meeting productivity requirements

This individual is principally responsible for intervening on behalf of children, adolescents, and adults of the Desert Sage Health Centers. C. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct a psychosocial assessment of the client and determine if the client meets criteria for Behavioral Health services.

3. Diagnose client using DSM-VTR criteria, and if appropriate, psychometric tools and records.
4. Develop a treatment plan that identifies both short and long term need of the client.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Speech Language Pathologistevaluates, plans, and provides treatment and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring physician. Works with family and team members regarding patient’s abilities and goals.

Adheres to Oregon State Speech-Language Licensing Board Standards.
