As a Family Medicine APP, you will practice at our large downtown practice. In this role you will collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, a nurse practitioner, care coordinators and integrated behavioral health providers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current state license as a Physician Assistant or Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
- Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Credentialing requirement).
- Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.
- Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
- BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
- Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) or more years of experience preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Master’s degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

- Manages patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, collection and cash receipting, arrival and/or departure desk activities according to standards and guidelines ensuring accuracy and an outstanding patient experience
- Encourages patient utilization of front-end technology during the registration process
- Enters and maintains confidential and accurate patient information including patient insurance, billing, and payment information throughout patient encounter Assists billing functions accurately and/or directs to appropriate billing office
- Demonstrates proficiency of emergency codes and appropriate responses as well as applicable federal and state healthcare regulations
- Monitors inventory and stock medications, narcotics, and emergency medications/equipment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced office environment. Should be able to bend and lift up to 10 lbs.
Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED require. Computer experience required. Customer relations experience required. Experience with Medical Records Software preferred, Front desk practice experience preferred.

$19.80 - $29.70Major Responsibilities: Completes patient order confirmations and modifications for item changes occurring after initial order ticket printing to begin revenue recognition and billing processes. 1)Reviews all paperwork submitted with equipment set up packets to ensure all forms are complete, signed and dated appropriately. 2)Any safety issues documented by drivers will be followed up with appropriate correspondence to patients, physicians or management, such as patient smoking in the home with oxygen, incorrect storage of oxygen tanks, etc. 3)Processes service maintenance tickets and resets the schedule for future service and maintenance of rental equipment. 4)Maintain a knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, Managed Care, PHO's and Advocate contract procedures and guidelines. 5)Verify that current and appropriate authorizations are in place for all managed care clients for supplies and for purchased items. 6)Identification, investigation and verification of sources of reimbursement. 7)Be proficient in the use of computerized resources and data entry programs involving proper processing and qualifying of patients with clients with HME/RT needs. (These include, but are not limited to OnBase, Fastrack, Carenet, ERMA and Care Connection). 8)Completes daily update by running the Confirmed Orders for Billing Report to identify and correct errors in order entry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages daily operations of a Medical Center residency program. Assists program director by serving as a liaison for the program trainees and ongoing program activities.
- Provides administrative support to program director and residents including program policies and procedures. Represents program director in meetings and other administrative affairs as needed.
- Understands the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements for program requirements. Analyzes and suggests specific changes and modifications.
- Coordinates completion of Program Information Form (PIF) for ACGME site review and Internal Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Review. Prepares and maintains program records for program accreditation.
- Coordinates the recruitment, orientation, and graduation processes in the residency/fellowship training program. This includes the interview process, ranking, and post-match administration. Utilizes the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS) process and submits rank list to National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and/or San Francisco Match.
- May be required to conduct resident orientations, provide Medical Center process training, and oversee or coordinate resident rotation schedules.
- Develops and maintains current resident and alumni educational records.
- Conducts annual compliance training for all residents and maintains records. Administers educational and residency performance evaluations as required by ACGME.
- Coordinates various human resources activities, including resident promotions, training verifications, vacation, sick leave, and leave of absence documentation. Initiates contracts and necessary documentation to Medical Staff office for incoming and outgoing residents.
- Schedules, coordinates, and participates in educational conferences and committee meetings.
- Monitors and reconciles residency program budget.
- Serves as contact for various planning committees.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse and/or licensed physician, and is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his or her direction. This position observes, contributes to the plan of care, implements, reports and documents patient care in accordance with department policies, standard of care and state scope of practice. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to contribute to the assessment of data and to plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Observes, compiles and reports the patient’s physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews available information obtained by health care team members.
2. Contributes to plan of care under direction of registered nurse, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of care. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews plan of care to reflect changing patient needs and provides input for updates as needed.
3. Implements care based on delegated interventions identified in care plan and medical orders, within scope of practice. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. May delegate and provide supervision in the provision of care to non-licensed personnel, in accordance with state scope of practice. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Reports condition of patient, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change in the patient’s condition to the registered nurse and/or physician. Observes and reports patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Observes and reports patient’s response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents observation, implementation and data in the patient record. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient’s response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. May plan, organize, develop and coordinate the completion of documentation and the input of patient assessment data as required by federal regulation. Maintains, updates and revises required documentation according to patient changes in condition, as regulated by federal and/or state guidelines. Effectively communicates and coordinates with members of the interdisciplinary team regarding appropriate functional/care level and transition to another level. Performs audits related to the reimbursement documentation and the quality management process. Reviews audit results and presents summary information for management utilization and review.
7. May coordinate the admission process including new resident evaluations. Provides verbal and written communication to residents, families and referrals sources regarding the process for admission to the center. Facilitates problem solving with residents, families, referral sources, insurance companies and clinical staff.
8. This position works under supervision, prioritizing data from multiple sources to provide quality care and support to the patient and family. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Interacts with staff at all levels throughout the facility, as well as patients, families and physicians.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid LPN or LVN license in state of practice, temporary LPN or LVN license in state of practice, or compact LPN or LVN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Completion of a state approved IV therapy program may be required in certain facilities and/or departments in accordance with state scope of practice, regulatory requirements or facility/ department policy.
Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a LPN or LVN in the specialty area. Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

The Nurse Practitioner can
- change the treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition, and determine if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725).
- Provide and coordinate the care of General Surgery patients,
- provide patient/family education, and promote safe continuity of care.
- Participate in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds,
- provide education and support as well as make appropriate referrals.

Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record that is utilized by all members of the healthcare team. Prevents creation of duplicate medical records that can cause treatment safety issues and billing problems. Follows and ensures compliance with the mandate of the organization’s accrediting bodies to use identifiers to positively identify a patient prior to the delivery of patient care to ensure patient safety.
Checks in and registers patients; obtains and verifies complete demographic, guarantor, and insurance information; discusses and collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket patient responsibilities. Obtaining accurate information at the point of registration helps ensure timely payment to the organization and prevents billing issues and patient complaints. Maintains complete confidentiality regarding patient personal/financial information and medical records in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Knows insurance basics and recognizes commercial and government plans. Understands which plans AAH contracts with and when a statement of financial responsibility is needed. Understands and discusses financial information and obligations with patients. Knows how and when to refer patients to Financial Advocates.
Has knowledge of which rules, forms and questions must be enforced to make sure AAH remains compliant with government agencies and regulations. Greets patients and visitors and responds to routine requests for information. Answers telephone, screens calls, and takes messages. Offers various assistance to patients to include: arranging transportation needs, providing directions, locating a wheelchair, coordinating interpreter services, etc.

Practice Support Assistant Full Time, 40hrs/week- Bronson Family Medicine -VicksburgThe Practice Support Assistant performs various duties including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling, patient check-in, preparing and retrieving files, and directing telephone calls. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3-6 months of related experience required.
- Previous experience working with medical insurance highly preferred.
- Must have keyboarding and computer skills, the ability to file accurately, possess professional communication and excellent customer service skills and be able to perform other light clerical duties as assigned
- Previous computer experience including hospital-based programs (i.e., Medic/Misys/Tiger or other practice management system) preferred
- Proficient in ability to organize, alphabetize, and file and prioritize multiple tasks
- Must have excellent math skills and be able to use basic office equipment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical information
- Must have excellent verbal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain positive customer service
- Ability to establish effective working relations with office staff and employees in a team environment
- Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality Work which produces very high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g. CRT work between 70 and 90 percent of the time, and work involving extremely close tolerances and considerable hand/eye coordination for sustained periods of time. The job produces some physical demands. Typical of jobs that include regular walking, standing, stooping, bending, sitting, and some lifting of light weight objects
- Registers patients/customers and confirms patient/guarantor demographic and insurance information.
- Completes all required fields in practice management system
- Determines patient co-payments (utilizing electronic insurance verification system) and collects payments on amounts due (current and past).
- Enter charges/payments into MISYS/Tiger system (or other practice management system).
- Prepares encounter form(s) for charge entry for services rendered using the correct ICD-9 and CPT codes as they relate to Codescan.
- Schedules and coordinates patient appointments, tests, and referrals according to office/provider preferences and the needs of patients.
- Answers telephones, takes messages, routes callers, and provides/relays information in a manner consistent with service standards.
- Maintains patient medical records according to current required standards.
- Obtains patient authorization for transfer of any/all private health information.
- Maintains patient confidentiality of data and information.
- Performs basic office duties such as sorting/distributing mail, copying, filing, faxing, ordering supplies, and completing forms, as needed.
- Performs basic composition of letters and reports. Formats, types and proofreads standard correspondence, reports, and other documents.
- Maintains a clean unit environment/work area and communicates any equipment malfunction/problem to appropriate personnel.
- Maintains accountability for special projects as assigned.
- Performs such individual assignments as management may direct. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships within the organization.
- Engages in continuous study to maintain the competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities. Completes required training and education, including department specific requirements.
- Ensures that required documentation for activities within areas of responsibility is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Ensures that patients, their families, visitors, customers, and employees are treated with kindness and respect. Demonstrates teamwork and integrity in all work related activities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of hospital safety and infection control policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Maintain provider schedules, including meetings, appointments, cancellations, re-schedules, add-on appointments, etc.
- Print Physician daily schedules.
- Run reports from MISYS/Tiger system (e.g., charge summary, missing ticket, etc.).
- Prepare deposit, completing daily deposit verification form, and verifying accuracy of deposit.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by the physician or practice manager/office supervisor.
- Maintains unsupervised access to the unit medication room(s) for stocking and/or retrieving supplies.
Practice Centralized Services: Additional duties may include; department focuses on demographic and insurance entry for all clinical patients, reviews accounts for missing and inaccurate information and communicates with office staff at each location to ensure accurate registration for patients who are new to Bronson, who have not been seen in over a year, have an account that raises a flag, has inactive insurance or is marked as an auto/workers comp
