Pay Range:
$22.90 - $34.35Downtown Health Plaza provides high quality, patient-centered care with a strong focus on addressing social determinants of health. Interprofessional collaboration is utilized daily to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care delivery. As a resident-based clinic, the practice offers valuable opportunities to develop knowledge and clinical expertise in the primary care setting while working alongside multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Major Responsibilities:
- Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures, and maintains training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care.  Â
- Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings (depression, suicide, falls, social drivers of health, etc.). Â
- Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.   Â
- Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking. Point of Care testing (POCT) per standing order/provider order. Completes Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved waived laboratory tests and practice-specific diagnostic testing in adherence to CLIA standards.  Â
- Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration. Â
- Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals.  Â
- Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation.  Â
- Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately. Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order, and areas are appropriately stocked. Â
- May assist with training and onboarding of other teammates. Â
- May serve as a role champion or on a committee. Â
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental standards.Â
Minimum Job RequirementsÂ
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program  required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required Â
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required within 1 year in select areas.
- Successful completion of Atrium Health’s competency assessment.
- Demonstrates professional practice advancement through professional governance, safety coach, super-user, vaccine coordinator, SPICE or OSHA/IP certificate holder for unitÂ
- Achieves 6 points from the list of additional market responsibilities
Current Medical Assistant certification from one of the following is required:Â
- CMA from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- CCMA from National Health career Association (NHA)
- NCMA from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- RMA from American Medical Technologists (AMT). Â
- RMA from American Allied Health
- NCMSMA from National Healthcare Worker’s Association (NHCWA)
- NRCMA from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
- NRMA from National Registry of Medical Assistants (NRMA)
Experience
- Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.Â
Knowledge / Skills / AbilitiesÂ
- Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills, within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.Â
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, team members and physicians.Â
- Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.Â
- Demonstrates customer service skills that support a positive patient experience.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other team member, when available.
- Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case- by -case basis.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.Â
- Will be exposed to the following hazards on a frequent basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids. Will be required to wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.Â
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.

Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.
- Provides basic patient education on the performance of tasks, skills, treatment and self-care.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services.
- Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $256,505.60 - $353,808.00 annually.

POSITION SUMMARY:   The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) has coordination and clinical skills required for the comprehensive management of family medicine patients, (including biological, social and psychological assessments). The APP coordinates involvement of medical specialty teams necessary to develop a comprehensive plan for the patient, and reviews the plan of care with the other members of the clinical team, participates in directing that care, performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and coordinates discharge planning (as applicable). The APP participates in the education of residents and medical/nursing students. Â
Provide healthcare services consistent with state law and the requirements of the professional licensing or certification authority and/or hospital privileges, where applicable. Such service may include, but are not limited to.   Â
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR NURSE PRACTITIONER:Â
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:Â

Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.Â

National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.Â

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $256,505.60 - $353,808.00 annually.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.

What you will do:
The Senior Registration Associate is responsible for performing and overall coordination of clerical duties related to the efficient and service-oriented operation of a medical practice. Responsibilities:
- Ensure distribution of work throughout the team is sufficient to meet daily schedules

- Schedules patient appointments to maximize patient access.
- Handles all incoming calls and directs appropriately.

Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.

Position Summary & Highlights:
This MA position will support a new physician to Saint Alphonsus and the clinic!

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group 12th Avenue Clinic provides convenient care close to home for South Nampa residents.
The family medicineproviders work closely together to provide a unique, care team approach to caring for their patients as life-long partners in their care.
What Will You Do:
In addition to primary MA duties, you will also perform phlebotomy, administer immunizations, perform EKGs, and prep injections.
You will set up and assist with minor procedures, complete POC and other tests, and also complete tasks and orders in the task inbox.
An ideal candidate will have previous experience in family medicine, pediatrics, OB/GYN, internal medicine, or urgent care, will be highly dependable and reliable and have solid experience with immunizations and phlebotomy.
You will enjoy working with elderly patients and have experience communicating with this patient population.
You will also have strong self-initiative and communication skills, a positive attitude, and be a team player - willing to assist in all areas of the clinic.
Epic experience is a plus.
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week, 4 - 10 hour shifts. Exact schedule is still being determined since provider hasn't started yet.
MAs in this clinic usually work around the hours of 7:00am - 6:00pm.
Work schedule start time and end time may vary based on provider's schedule and clinic needs and is subject to change.

Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
*Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
