A clinically competent Surgical Technologist, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, is responsible for the care and safety of the patient during the intra-operative period and assisting with preparation of surgical patient by performance of routine and delegated duties according to standards and policies of the hospital. Included within this assignment is assessing and providing basic patient care needs while maintaining patient care standards. The Obstetric Surgical Technician should be self-motivated and able to function as a member of a health care team.
What you will need:
Education: Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program or Surgical Technology program. Certified Surgical Tech Certification through The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Must be able to read and write English.
Experience: Must possess a minimum of one-year current operating room experience (student experience allowed). Possesses a service orientation, should possess the ability to understand and react effectively to the unique needs and care for all patient populations. (i.e. neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, geriatrics).
Special Qualifications: Knowledge and understanding of basic principles of asepsis, simple biology, leadership qualities, the ability to work independently, demonstrates effective communication and organizational skills.

As a Medical Assistant at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
- Providing Patient Care: Under the direction of the Clinician, providing care to patients by assisting the provider to gather information that is relative to the patient’s visit and condition.

Minimum Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of Medical Assistant Experience or a current RN/LPN license
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA
Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Family-centered maternity care is unique to our practice. We provide prenatal care, delivery, and newborn care for your baby. The office features 22 exam rooms with specialty areas for colposcopy, IUD insertions and removals, circumcision, skin procedures, joint injections, osteopathic manipulation, toenail removals and counseling.
As a LPN in this clinic, you will provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician, and be accountable for the quality of services delivered by yourself or others who are under the physician's direction. This position observes, compiles and reports the patient’s physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and other needs. Experience with pediatrics preferred. This position provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse and/or licensed physician, and is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his or her direction. This position observes, contributes to the plan of care, implements, reports and documents patient care in accordance with department policies, standard of care and state scope of practice. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to contribute to the assessment of data and to plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Observes, compiles and reports the patient’s physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews available information obtained by health care team members.
2. Contributes to plan of care under direction of registered nurse, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of care. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews plan of care to reflect changing patient needs and provides input for updates as needed.
3. Implements care based on delegated interventions identified in care plan and medical orders, within scope of practice. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. May delegate and provide supervision in the provision of care to non-licensed personnel, in accordance with state scope of practice. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Reports condition of patient, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change in the patient’s condition to the registered nurse and/or physician. Observes and reports patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Observes and reports patient’s response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents observation, implementation and data in the patient record. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient’s response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. May plan, organize, develop and coordinate the completion of documentation and the input of patient assessment data as required by federal regulation. Maintains, updates and revises required documentation according to patient changes in condition, as regulated by federal and/or state guidelines. Effectively communicates and coordinates with members of the interdisciplinary team regarding appropriate functional/care level and transition to another level. Performs audits related to the reimbursement documentation and the quality management process. Reviews audit results and presents summary information for management utilization and review.
7. May coordinate the admission process including new resident evaluations. Provides verbal and written communication to residents, families and referrals sources regarding the process for admission to the center. Facilitates problem solving with residents, families, referral sources, insurance companies and clinical staff.
8. This position works under supervision, prioritizing data from multiple sources to provide quality care and support to the patient and family. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Interacts with staff at all levels throughout the facility, as well as patients, families and physicians.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid LPN or LVN license in state of practice, temporary LPN or LVN license in state of practice, or compact LPN or LVN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. What You Will Do:
- In supporting the provider you will room patients, collect vital signs, medication review, perform phlebotomy, and administer immunizations/vaccines.
- You will also complete injections, complete chart prep, complete in-basket tasks and orders, including prior authorizations.
- You may help cover for lunches and sick calls.
- You will enjoy learning more about the provider and related preferences and takes feedback in stride.

Key duties include:

Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e., chief complaint, allergies, and/or medications). Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/ Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assists the Physician/ Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APP orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.

Position Summary
As a member of the Early Supports for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT) team at Children’s Village, The Family Resource Coordinator (FRC) is responsible for providing coordination of services for families of children with developmental delays as a family resource. The FRC will maintain necessary paperwork and timelines in accordance with the contractual ESIT program guidelines. As a member of the ESIT team, they will meet with families in their homes to ensure coordinated access to services and programs. The FRC will maintain information about available services from Children’s Village, partner agencies, and the community for the benefit of the children and families served and work in concert with ESIT and the other programs at Children’s Village.The FRC II position will provide an additional role on the ESIT multidisciplinary team as an evaluator and contribute to the Individual Family Services Plan goals and objectives. They will play a more active role in community relationships and coach and mentor new FRC staff.
Responsibilities:
- Gathers information from all sources to confirm the family’s needs are being appropriately addressed, including review of the medical record, communication with the team of providers and input from the family.
- Provides support to families through advocacy by assisting in identifying concerns priorities and resources, anticipating informational needs, assisting with completion of appropriate application forms, and assessing comprehension and engagement.
- Provides information to families about resource availability, costs, and coverage for care/services in a timely manner.
- Describes programs clearly to the parents of eligible children by participating in developmental evaluations to determine eligibility in appropriate programs, developing a plan with the family to coordinate community resource to meet the family’s needs, and coordinating referrals to local school districts.
- Monitors individual plans on an ongoing basis including reviewing progress toward outcomes, objectively and accurately identifying potential/real barriers, linking families to appropriate community resources, amending service plans as needed to reflect changes in frequency, setting, or duration. Facilitates collaborative team meetings and case conferences as well as works with multi-disciplinary team to provide family-centered services at Children’s Village. Participates in education opportunities to expand and improve job knowledge and skills as well as maintains knowledge of mandated reporting procedures to Child Protective Services and reviews any incidents with direct supervisor. Responds to changes in the work schedule as necessary; demonstrates flexibility in view of interruptions; functions as a steadily productive employee. Plays an active role in encouraging and communicating community development internally and externally. Travels to family homes, community locations or school districts to participate in evaluations, transition meetings or other complimentary activities related to the IFSP or Early Supports to Infants and Toddlers program. Carries a caseload as a member of the ESIT team as prescribed by the ESIT program contract.
- Conducts home visits to assess living conditions, patterns of parent-child interaction, and special instruction to child and family. Takes a lead role in partnership with assigned school districts. Conducts psychosocial developmental assessment of the child in the family context dependent upon degree. Provide individual support to families (i.e.; Promoting First Relationships) as a service in alignment with training offered through ESIT. Mentors new FRC’s to support adherence to the ESIT contract requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Education, or relevant field required.
- 2 years related experience preferred.
- Washington State registration as a Family Resources Coordinator obtained within 6 months of hire. Bilingual Preferred. Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e., chief complaint, allergies, and/or medications). Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/ Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assists the Physician/ Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APP orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with Physician/APP and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary. Effectively communicates accurate and timely information with the patient.
- May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty and appropriate competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a physician practice or clinic supports providers and registered nurses in delivering direct patient care in the ambulatory setting. The role rooms patients, gathers and records health information, measures vital signs, administers medications and immunizations, collects blood specimens, and performs simple diagnostic tests. The LPN prepares patients and rooms for examinations, assists with procedures, and provides patient education and follow-up instructions within scope. Working closely with the care team, the LPN helps manage patient flow, responds to messages and refill requests under provider direction, and may direct the work of medical assistants and aides. Accurate documentation in the electronic health record supports continuity, care coordination, and safe outpatient care.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION
Completion of an accredited practical nursing program leading to LPN/LVN eligibility is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience in an ambulatory or physician practice setting is preferred.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
One to two years of nursing experience is preferred, ideally in an ambulatory or outpatient setting. New graduates of an accredited practical nursing program may be considered.
MINIMUM REQUIRED CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE
Current, unencumbered state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) license is required. Successful completion of the NCLEX-PN examination is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
