Trinity Health Of New England is seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) to support our growing Outpatient Oncology & Infusion Services team across Hartford and Glastonbury, Connecticut. This is an exciting opportunity for an oncology nurse leader who is ready to advance their career while helping drive exceptional patient outcomes, team engagement, and operational excellence.
As the Assistant Nurse Manager, you will partner closely with clinical and operational leaders to support day-to-day operations of our outpatient cancer and infusion centers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care for oncology and hematology patients.
What You'll Do
Support daily clinical operations, staffing, and patient flow across multiple outpatient oncology and infusion locations.
Assist in leading, mentoring, and developing registered nurses, medical assistants, and support staff.
Promote a culture of patient safety, quality, service excellence, and evidence-based practice.
Provide clinical oversight and serve as a resource for complex patient care situations.
Partner with leadership to achieve quality, compliance, patient experience, and operational goals.
Facilitate staff onboarding, education, competency validation, and professional development.
Monitor performance metrics and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Foster employee engagement, retention, and a collaborative team environment.
Maintain a visible leadership presence while supporting patients, families, providers, and staff.
Qualifications
Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
Oncology, infusion, ambulatory, or outpatient specialty experience strongly preferred.
Prior Charge Nurse, Lead RN, Preceptor, or Leadership experience preferred.
BLS certification required.
Strong communication, organization, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Epic or other electronic medical record systems preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures proper patient identification and maintains patient safety, privacy, confidentiality and follows guidelines under HIPAA.
• Obtains and records vital signs, pain screens, weights and heights accurately into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).Reports changes and/or abnormalities in vital signs; findings that are outside of defined parameters; and changes in patient’s conditions to the nursing/medical staff in a timely manner.
• Obtains specimens (urine, stool, sputum, etc.) and ensures accurate labeling in presence of patient.Instructs patients/family members in collecting specimens.
• Performs phlebotomy and EKG as applicable and is competent in the two patient identifier practice.
• May precept with specific training.
• Assists with disease center specific procedural needs as applicable.
• Transports patients, medical records, specimens, blood components, equipment and supplies in accordance with Institute policy.
• Ensures that all patients on schedule are accounted for and communicate with providers/patients and colleagues as to approximate wait times.
• May be required to assist with research specific patient data entry as required.
• Assures that all clinical areas have an adequate stock of medical supplies, equipment, and forms.
• Assist with medical record preparation.
• Properly cleans and maintains equipment and patient care environment.
• Maintains a working knowledge of current computer systems used in clinical areas.

Inpatient Oncology Float Pool
Shift: Days
Schedule: 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends
This position is eligible for full time benefits
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct oncology nursing care, including comprehensive assessment, individualized care planning, symptom management, and evaluation of patient outcomes for adult oncology patients and families.
• Administer antineoplastic agents and supportive therapies per protocols and ONS standards; verify orders, complete independent double checks, and monitor for and manage infusion reactions and adverse events.
• Manage central venous access devices (e.g., ports, PICCs); perform access, maintenance, blood draws, and blood product transfusions per policy; ensure safe use of infusion equipment and PPE.
• Provide patient and family education on diagnosis, treatment plans, self-care, side-effect management, and discharge instructions; coordinate multidisciplinary resources and community referrals.
• Document care in Epic in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards; maintain accurate medication administration records, flowsheets, and patient education documentation.
• Participate in quality and safety activities (e.g., safety huddles, infection prevention, hazardous drug handling, Joint Commission readiness) and support clinical research protocols as applicable (e.g., protocol adherence, specimen handling, adverse event reporting).
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, social workers, and research staff; contribute to effective team communication, handoffs, and patient throughput.
• May serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or mentor; provides functional direction to licensed and unlicensed support personnel in accordance with scope of practice and institutional policies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency in chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration per ONS guidelines; working knowledge of oncology pharmacology and side-effect profiles.
• Competence in central line care and infusion therapy; ability to administer and monitor blood products per policy.
• Ability to recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies (e.g., infusion reactions, febrile neutropenia, tumor lysis syndrome) and escalate care appropriately.
• Strong patient education skills with ability to tailor communication to diverse populations and varying health literacy levels; commitment to culturally competent, trauma-informed care.
• Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic preferred); accurate and timely clinical documentation and electronic medication administration.
• Knowledge of infection prevention, hazardous drug handling (USP <800>), PPE requirements, and universal precautions.
• Effective triage, prioritization, and time management skills for varying acuity in a fast-paced ambulatory environment.
• Collaborative team skills; ability to work across interdisciplinary teams and support clinical research activities.
• Critical thinking, clinical judgment, problem-solving, and ability to function effectively under stress.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Associate degree, Nursing.A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is strongly preferred, and candidates with an associate degree must complete a BSN within 4 years.1 year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.Acute care nursing experience preferred; oncology/hematology experience in an Inpatient or ambulatory infusion clinic setting preferred. Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., Epic) preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
Current unrestricted Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required.ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate required or obtained within 6 months of hire (role-dependent).Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred depending on work area.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
With direct supervision, the Registration Specialist:
- Pre-registers new Adult and Pediatric patients by making/receiving patient calls or receiving/sending messages via a Customer Relationship Management tool.
- Collects and accurately documents patient demographic, financial, and other relevant personal information into Epic.
- Verifies patient identification, and confirms and updates patient demographics, patient contacts, insurance information, and PCP.
- Completes the Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaire with all Medicare Beneficiaries.
- Assists patients with sign up for Patient Gateway and obtains signature for Registration consent forms via eCheck-In when possible: General Consent for Treatment, HIPAA Notice for Privacy Practice, Patient Rights and Responsibilities, New Patient Information, and DFCI Virtual Care Consent.
- Manages insurance coverage questions for patients, potentially working with the DFCI Financial Counselor.
- Works eligibility work queues to identify invalid insurances for patients and escalates patients as needed to a Financial Counselor for assistance.
- Complies with all Dana-Farber and HIPAA confidentiality policies.
- Manages eligibility and coordination of benefits claim denials as assigned through daily work queues and documents activities into the hospital information system; may require contacting the payer and/or the patient to obtain the correct insurance information.
- Updates changes to patient insurance and/or demographic information as needed.
- Reviews daily error reports and makes necessary demographic updates in Epic.
- Implements downtime procedures during planned and unplanned system downtime events.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Care
- Provides expert genetic counseling services for adult patients and families, including collection and interpretation of personal and family history, risk assessment, test selection, informed consent, result disclosure, psychosocial support, and development of management recommendations across hereditary cancer syndromes.
- Serves as a lead clinician for complex and high-acuity cases involving common and rare hereditary cancer conditions.
Clinical & Institutional Strategy
- In collaboration with Cancer Genetics & Prevention division leadership, designs and refines care delivery models that extend beyond traditional genetic counseling pathways to support access, quality, and appropriate follow-up.
- Develop strategies to manage increasing patient volumes while maintaining strong standards for informed consent, triage, and continuity of care.
- Partners with information technology and operational stakeholders to improve integration of family history tools, pedigree software, and clinical decision support resources within institutional systems and workflows.
- Develops, standardizes, and updates evidence-based institutional guidance for genetic and genomic testing criteria, tumor / germline testing, referral pathways, and high-risk screening and management practices.
Operational & Financial Management
- In collaboration with program and administrative leadership, evaluate operational efficiency and recommend workflow improvements that support high-quality patient care and sustainable service delivery.
- Monitors and helps advise on billing and reimbursement practices related to genetics services, including workflow design, payer-related processes, and institutional compliance considerations.
- Reviews institutional utilization of genetic testing and ordering patterns to identify opportunities to reduce redundant, inappropriate, or inefficient testing and to support responsible resource use.
- Works closely with relevant data, operations, and administrative partners to ensure genetics-related tools, data workflows, and systems are used efficiently and appropriately for clinical and programmatic purposes.

- Provides expert consultation and cross-functional collaboration on the development, implementation, and refinement of institutional policies involving genomic information and genetics practice.

Works with clinical and/or study participants, via in-person and telehealth training sessions to support exercise training.

6. Work as co-sign to Intrathecal Chemotherapy administered by APP.
7. Assists in emergency nursing procedures necessary for prompt control of changes in patient`s physical condition.
8. Maintains awareness of procedural suite activities and works with the Procedure Suite team to maximize workflow.
9. Keeps abreast of changing techniques in procedural nursing and maintains a high level of expertise in critical care.
10. Responsible for intraprocedural monitoring of patients not limited to maintain active airway, assesses effective circulation and respiration via capnography and telemetry monitoring.
11. Safely recover patients post sedation, perform discharge teaching, and evaluate safety of patient discharge.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures proper patient identification and maintains patient safety, privacy, confidentiality and follows guidelines under HIPAA.

Under the direction of the Manager and Supervisor of Imaging Support Services, this mission critical position is responsible for departmental administrative tasks, such as patient reception duties, organizing necessary materials for the patient’s imaging procedure, review of complex patient appointment sets, ordering lab work and additional tests associated with imaging procedures. - Check-In/Administrative: Verifies complex appointment sets across modalities for oncology patients in accordance with scheduling guidelines. Acquires, enters, and links lab orders from Ordering Providers. Assembles screening forms and worksheets for each imaging modality. Works with Access Management to ensure pre-authorizations have been obtained. Facilitates patient and staff flow for patients needing lab work. Maintains confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI). Performs past-pending reconciliations. Provides superior customer service to all patients, family members, physicians and staff in accordance with the DFCI Customer Service Standards. Performs front desk check-in functions verifies patient identification; prints patient wristbands; assigns Real-Time Locating System (RTLS) badges; and asks patients screening questions. Prints and reviews appointment schedules for patients. Notifies nursing and lab staff of issues as needed. Answers telephone and provide general imaging specific information to callers within the scope of knowledge and authority. Reviews missing labs reports and works with staff from other departments to resolve missing labs. Identifies inconsistencies with, or outstanding questions regarding lab panel orders. - Image Library Responsibilities (Chestnut Hill ISC only): Creates orders and imports outside images from digital media into Enterprise Picture Archiving and Communication System PACS. Understands and uses PACS, applicable image upload software, and computer equipment to import images from digital media to PACS. Exports images to CD or via electronic transfer Troubleshoots images and collaborates with the Image Library, when necessary, to resolve and successfully import images into PACS. Manages and reconciles all patient CDs from intake to upload completion. Works collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient completion of daily work queue. Mails requested CDs back to patient or discarding of CDs per departmental guidelines. Maintains a level of competency in all operational systems such as: QuickBase, Visage, LifeImage, PowerShare, and ETIAM.

This unique program brings together expertise in cancer care delivery research (Dana-Farber’s Center for Outcomes and Policy Research), along other Population Sciences pillars (DFCI’s cancer genetics, health communication, clinical computational oncology), and health policy (BIDMC’s Health Policy Section at the Smith Center for Outcomes Research), providing an exceptional environment for postdoctoral fellows to develop and carry out research at the intersection of oncology and health policy under shared mentorship between these programs.
The goal of this program is to develop the next generation of leaders in oncology and health policy by providing rigorous training in the use of big data, advanced biostatistical methods, and econometric approaches, paired with dedicated mentorship from experts to advance innovative, high-impact research.
A two-year joint post-doctoral training program between the Division of Population Sciences at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Center for Outcomes Research at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Responsibilities:
Post-doctoral fellows will spend two years (starting July 2026) conducting mentored research.
The fellow will be housed within the Division of Population Sciences at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston, Massachusetts, which will provide space, salary support, the support of an experienced mentor in the Division, and opportunity to participate in seminars on cancer care delivery research, genetics and prevention, and/or clinical computational oncology.
The fellow will also receive joint mentorship and training at the Smith Center for Outcomes Research (BIDMC), including support of an experienced mentor in health policy, participation in seminars focused on health policy and statistical methods for causal inference, access to diverse national data sources, and analytic support.
Based on interests identified at the time of application, the fellow will be guided toward appropriate mentors who will provide research oversight and supervision.
The mentors will work closely with the fellow to refine research questions, develop study designs, and create rigorous analytic plans.
They will provide ongoing guidance to fellows to ensure successful execution of the research and will actively support dissemination of research findings through talks and publications.
During the two-year fellowship, we will encourage submission of a K series or other career development award to ensure a successful transition to an independent faculty position upon completion of the program.

3. Create patient specific premedication regiment in collaboration with procedure APP.
4. Obtain IV access and preprocedural lab work.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree, Nursing. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing strongly preferred. If Associate degree in Nursing, must complete BSN degree within 4 years. Experience: Completion of the Oncology Nurse Residency Program (ONRP) or 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse. Ambulatory and/or oncology experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registration Required:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or State of New Hampshire as appropriate required. AHA BLS required (AHA ACLS accepted as minimum requirement). Professional nursing certification preferred (OCN, BMTCN, CPHON, AOCNP, CRNI, RN-BC).

Under close supervision, will perform the following:
- Provide administrative support for the department, clinicians, and/or faculty.
- Perform administrative duties that may include, but not limited to, answering phones, maintaining office supplies, incoming and outgoing mail management, managing resource calendars, and submitting work orders for maintenance issues.
- Manage meeting planning and schedules for individuals and teams within assigned department group.
- May liaise between patient and clinical staff to provide scheduling support.
- Draft communications for members of the department or individuals that the position is supporting for review.
- May be responsible for data entry.
- Provide email and phone communication with internal and external teams or collaborators.
- May serve as onsite representative for external groups, visitors, or collaborators.
- Prepare general correspondence, letters of recommendation, Excel spreadsheets, presentation preparation and editing.
- Financial responsibilities including P-Card charge review and reconciliation, expense report processing, vendor payments, invoice creation or general office supply ordering.
- Coordinate travel arrangements as required/needed by department staff.
- Maintain high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality regarding a variety of highly sensitive topics.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, and Adobe.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with peers, leadership, and external contacts.
- Must possess the ability to identify and work to resolve problems, maintain confidentiality, and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize, and follow-through.
