2. Resolves problems associated with payables transactions.
3. Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

5. Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
6. Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements.
7. Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on invoices.
8. Provides accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the Accounts Payable function in accordance with records retention policies and procedures.
9. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

JOB SUMMARYThe CT Technologist performs Computed Tomography procedures in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered.

Shift Info:
The PRN employee is expected to work 2 shifts in a six-week schedule as follows.
1. Employee on a 8-hour schedule works 2–8-hour shift.
2. Employee on a 10-hour schedule works 2-10 shifts
3. Employee on a 12-hour schedule works 2–12-hour shifts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs all computed Tomography procedures according to established department protocols
• Perform appropriate volume of procedures according to patient load
• Ensures that the correct patient information, technical settings, and appropriate slice thickness are entered prior to scanning
• Prepare and administers oral and intravenous contrast media according to established guidelines
• Performs venipuncture when needed using sterile technique
• Completes appropriate patient documentation
• Displays working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Processes, records, and archives images for evaluation, interpretation, and maintenance purposes
• Completes filming of all cases in a timely fashion according to radiologists’ requirements
• Completes processes to send image data to PACS
• Performs all tasks associated with the proper execution of a CT examination in accordance with the established department and hospital policies and procedures
• Accepts assignments from supervisor in positive manner; recognizes and performs duties that need to be accomplished although not routine
• Restock and maintains assigned work area/equipment in an orderly fashion and ensures that emergency kit is accurately supplied and dated
• Performs necessary cleaning of room and equipment
• Assists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, beds and radiographic imaging tables
• Uses appropriate restraint devices as needed
• Performs all assigned RIS transactions to ensure that accurate patient and procedure information is recorded in a timely fashion for the patient medical record and billing purposes
• Completes patient exam in RIS
• Review’s materials and exam charges, edits/corrects as necessary
• Review’s patient exam information in WIZ, edits as necessary
• Performs visual maintenance checks on all equipment used and reports all malfunctions to appropriate personnel
• Perform quality assurance procedures
• Provides clear concise information regarding mechanical problems and service needs
• Records all equipment downtimes in department log and notifies appropriate personnel according to department procedures
• Provides radiation protection to patient, staff and self-according to prescribed safety standards
• Wears and maintains dosimeter badge in a proper fashion
• Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance to radiation safety practices
• Communicate with hospital staff and physicians in the performance of CT Scan procedures to exchange pertinent patient information

Job Description:
Phlebotomy Student learns how to accurately and compassionately collect patient specimens for laboratory diagnostic testing while working in a professional medical environment. Caregivers in this role will become skilled at performing venipuncture, capillary sticks and other basic phlebotomy skills before advancing into a Phlebotomist I position within Intermountain Health. (Phlebotomist I job description available upon request).Phlebotomist Student will attend a four-week course, including two weeks in the classroom and two-week externship. Students will be taught specific care and interventions for all patient populations and will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide the appropriate care for all age groups during their externship. Before completing the certification course, students will successfully complete a minimum of 125 venipunctures, 10 capillary sticks, and four blood culture collections.
Intermountain Phlebotomists function as part of a dynamic and engaging team in a professional setting with a workload that ranges from fast-paced hospital settings and high-volume clinics to low volume clinics or doctor office settings. These caregivers interact directly with patients and other caregivers to provide extraordinary care and quality outcomes for patients.
All phlebotomy caregivers adhere to patient identification and specimen labeling policies and procedures with 100% accuracy. Caregivers completing this phlebotomy course will be at the forefront of patient care and enforce the standards for laboratory compliance and safety regulations.
The Phlebotomist Student will learn to perform specimen collection using many different techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections. Performance of these tasks are taught and completed while wearing appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment). Due to the nature of healthcare, some specimen collection may require operating under various levels of PPE and providing care for patients in isolation.
This position requires organizational skills, as well as the ability to navigate multiple computer systems, work well as a member of a team, and maintain a clean and standardized work environment. Job Description
The Phlebotomy student will learn the performance of venipuncture and capillary puncture along with other basic skills used to collect laboratory specimens for analysis and to aid in the treatment and care of patients in a confidential, productive, and professional manner.
Intermountain Healthcare has created an employment opportunity for selected individuals to be trained as Phlebotomists. Intermountain Healthcare will cover the cost of tuition and training materials, and pay a salary of $17.32/hr. while students are in training. Course time will count toward benefits eligibility. (Current Benefits Eligible Intermountain Employees will retain their benefits coverage).
How long is the course?
The training course is four weeks. During the first two weeks, students will spend time in classroom and at sites doing observation and hands-on training. During the final two weeks, students will complete a clinical externship at various Intermountain Healthcare hospitals. At the end of the first week of the course, students will be individually evaluated to see if their performance warrants the completion of the course.
What are the hours for the course?
Participation in the course requires full-time commitment (40 hours per week), as students, to attend all classes and on-site training and observations, during the training program. Schedules will be set before the course begins and do not allow for flexibility or part-time participation. Students will not be permitted to miss any classes or externship hours. Hours of the class range and vary from a 4:00 am start time to 5:30 pm end time.
Where is the class held?
Classes will be held in the Intermountain Healthcare Employee Services Center, 5245 South College Drive, Murray. Students will be required to attend sessions at Intermountain Laboratory Services sites as well as associated clinics and physicians’ offices at various times during the course and externship.
What happens when the course is over?
After completing the Intermountain Healthcare Phlebotomy Training course, students will be required to interview for open Phlebotomist positions within the Intermountain Laboratory Services and all outreach clinics associate within Laboratory Services. Available shifts may be full-time or part-time, must be willing to work flexible hours, and may include early morning, day, afternoon, night and/or weekend shifts. Specific shifts cannot be guaranteed at the start of the course, but are dependent upon job availability at the time the course if completed.
If I complete the program, what is my work obligation?
After completion of the training program, your commitment is to work as a Phlebotomist for at least 24 hours per week in an Intermountain Laboratory Services facility and complete one-year of work. If this requirement is not met, students will be required to reimburse Intermountain Healthcare $1500.00 to cover the cost of tuition and materials.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performing secretarial, reception, medical assisting and initial patient needs assessment functions. Utilizes special knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs registration processes, verifies insurance coverage and obtains authorization notification. Accurately documents information and performs data-entry to ensure maximum reimbursement. Obtains necessary signatures specific to patients' insurance plan. Calculates patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits. Collects deposits and co-payments. Provides financial counseling for patients and their families by explaining financial policies and providing available resources for alternative payment arrangements. Assists patients and their families with completing financial documents when appropriate.
2. Serves as a liaison between the patient, billing department, and payor to enhance account receivables, resolve outstanding issues and/or patient concerns. Enters charges for services delivered and does daily charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of the day and prepares daily bank deposit with necessary paperwork faxed to PBO. Adheres to all billing procedures including preparation of Medicare billing at the end of the month within specific timelines.
3. Responsible for scheduling of patients, families, procedures, and physician appointments. Assists in scheduling routine appointments within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Assists in obtaining pre-certification, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions refills and other medical testing as necessary. Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care.
4. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service communication skills utilizing kindness, tact and courtesy to ensure positive patient response to service. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills when relating to internal and external customers. Uses discretion and is attentive to issues of customer confidentiality. Demonstrates skills in pro-active resolution and attempts to resolve scheduling conflicts.
5. Provides support to include, answering the phones, returning phone messages, pick-up/prioritizing/distributing mail, completing purchase requests, ordering supplies/forms, coordinating/scheduling meetings, maintaining and re-stocking exam rooms and lobby. Monitors inventory including medication/injectables and immunizations, i.e., expired medications, recalls and patient tracking. Responsible for the medical records for the assigned area. Ensures medical records are pulled and ready daily. Initiates obtaining needed records from hospitals, practices, and other ancillary departments. Follows guidelines and assists in developing procedures to ensure that medical records are in compliance with all state and federal laws.
6. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vitals signs, symptoms, medication list, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of changes of the patient’s condition to the clinician. Assists providers with exams and minor office procedures and acts as a chaperon if needed.
7. Performs office-based testing and treatments related to patient care under supervision of a clinician. Performs and records daily/monthly quality control on all office based testing and treatment. Maintains a log book of results and lot numbers. Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory testing including phlebotomy. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed.
8. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures through Materials Management. Follow’s manufacturer’s recommendations and OSHA guidelines of handling hazardous substances. Performs and records daily/monthly quality control on all equipment.
9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers, following established procedures. Uses established knowledge and problem-solving skills with to work independently in a fast paced, multi-task environment. Responsibility for ensuring efficient coordination of billing processes, financial counseling, client scheduling, maintaining and handling of documentation, and patient flow. Interacts with all levels of staff internal and external, including patients and their families, physician offices, third party payors, vendors, clinical staff, ancillary staff, therapist, nurses and case managers. Also interacts with physician in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the response of the patient and family in changes in health status. Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient's response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
9.Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.
In a Home Health setting, team members must be able to operate personal vehicle and possess a valid driver's license. Auto insurance coverage is also required to be active and maintained.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral or BUMG, BUMCT in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees working at BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working in any Banner Staffing (BSS) Behavioral Health role in Arizona must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
