Job Description:
Provides secretarial support by performing a variety of office procedures (filing, record-keeping, inventory, answering phone, etc.). Promotes positive relations with other departments, physicians, and the public through accurate and timely communication (verbal and written) in a professional and confidential manner. Under broad direction, this position performs administrative/financial functions for the department and diversified office duties for Medical Imaging.
Essential Functions:
- Screens and refers all incoming calls and department visitors to ensure that accurate and timely departmental communication is facilitated and that the department is presented in a positive manner
- Proactively oversees schedules and maintains schedules for appropriate areas
- Distributes mail to appropriate individual
- Maintains departmental records and establishes departmental filing system to ensure the expeditious retrieval of information
Other Functions:
- Attends all UofL Health required educational programs as well as all KNOW modules
- Contributes to the efficient operation and monitoring of the department and utilizes our resources efficiently
- Demonstrates complete working knowledge of equipment within assigned area
- Responsible for ensuring required certifications are up-to-date
- Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
- Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned
Additional Job Description:

- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field (preferred)
Experience:

Job Description:
Position Summary and Purpose
The Radiologic Tech performs all radiographic examinations according to establish protocols set forth by the medical director. The Radiologic Tech maintains a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique. The Radiologic Tech maintains knowledge and awareness of radiation protection and safety during all radiographic examinations. The Radiologic Tech prepares for and assists the radiologist with intricate radiographic examinations. The Radiologic Tech will prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with hospital policy and procedure as well as state and federal regulations
Essential Functions:
• Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information pertinent to the examination being performed, including correct patient identification and order verification.
• Assess patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
• Performs pre and post exam patient education pertinent to exam being performed.
• Produces images according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, at patients’ bedside, ER, and surgery with a high degree of accuracy,
• Demonstrates good radiation safety practices during radiographic examinations to include use of lead shields, collimation, and determining pregnancy status of women of childbearing years
• Prepares for and assists Physicians with intricate radiographic examinations.
• Ensures examinations are performed, completed, and ready for physician interpretation.
• Attends and participates in department staff meetings and in-services.
• Takes an active role in gaining and maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems needed in performance of job responsibilities.
• Instructs Radiologic Technology students in the radiographic positioning, technique, and film critique.
• Presents a positive image of the hospital and department.
• Assists in quality improvement programs in the department
• Maintains appropriate credentials and certifications related to clinical performance and ensures a current copy is on file with the appropriate department.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains current BLS and ACLS certification. Coordination of Patient Care Ensures the utilization of the nursing process by all staff members. Demonstrates an understanding of Nursing’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Demonstrates an understanding of Nursing Professional Practice Model and the role of the Registered Nurse in providing Relationship Based Care. Makes rounds to review work activity on nursing units and serves as a resource to staff. I. Major Responsibilities:

2. Reviews incoming applications for appointment and reappointment to ensure completeness, check for adverse or questionable information, discrepancies, and that appropriate supporting documentation has been received.
3. Processes queries (electronic or written) for verification of education, training, practice history, malpractice history, licensure, specialty boards, criminal history, sanction and discipline history.
4. Processes queries to National Practitioner Data Bank, American Medical Association Physician Master file, Federation of State Medical Boards, Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and American Board of Medical Specialties or equivalent, Office of the Inspector General, Excluded Parties Listing Service, and Criminal Background check. 5. Prepares findings for review and recommendation by chief/chair, Credentials Committee, Medical Staff Executive Committee, and Patient Care Assessment Committee.
6. Prepares applications for UMass Memorial Medical Center practitioners who are seeking appointment/reappointment at member/affiliate hospitals. Works with practitioner and member/affiliate hospital in collection of data, ensuring completeness of information, electronic submission of application data to member/affiliate hospital. 10. Works extensively in Echo credentialing database. Maintains provider information, including demographic information, specific clinical privileges approved, confidential data, licensures, certification, education, training, practice, history, status. Enters, edits, scans, runs reports and letters.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and lifting throughout the workday. Must safely lift up to 35 pounds and perform patient handling tasks, including pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds and assisting with 150-pound sliding transfers. Requires functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine motor skills for clinical procedures, as well as the ability to operate equipment foot controls. Must be able to respond quickly to changing patient conditions and perform patient safety interventions, including verbal de-escalation and restraints when necessary. Exposure to blood, body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, and hazardous waste may occur; appropriate protective equipment must be used. 0.8 FTE position (40 hours per biweekly pay period) on second shift, working 8-hour shifts between the hours of 2:00 p.m. to 3:30am. Position will start out in the emergency department and work 3-11:30pm, with the potential of learning other areas that could change the start time. The position includes an every-other-weekend rotation and participation in a rotating holiday schedule.

$20.80 - $31.20A Patient Service Representative (PSR) is often a patient’s first impression of Advocate Health and frequently is the starting point and foundation for all Revenue Cycle functions. That work includes complete and accurate capture of information related to patient demographics, insurance coverage, and patient financial responsibility. The PSR helps prevent the loss of revenue and impacts operating margins through the accuracy and timeliness of their workflows. The PSR ensures mandated regulations are followed and patient satisfaction is optimized. The PSR plays a crucial role in connecting a variety of departments for the overall success of the patient’s experience and the organization’s financial success. Often works without direct supervision present.
Major Responsibilities:
Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record that is utilized by all members of the healthcare team. Prevents creation of duplicate medical records that can cause treatment safety issues and billing problems. Follows and ensures compliance with the mandate of the organization’s accrediting bodies to use identifiers to positively identify a patient prior to the delivery of patient care to ensure patient safety.
Checks in and registers patients; obtains and verifies complete demographic, guarantor, and insurance information; discusses and collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket patient responsibilities. Obtaining accurate information at the point of registration helps ensure timely payment to the organization and prevents billing issues and patient complaints. Maintains complete confidentiality regarding patient personal/financial information and medical records in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Knows insurance basics and recognizes commercial and government plans. Understands which plans Advocate Health contracts with and when a statement of financial responsibility is needed. Understands and discusses financial information and obligations with patients. Knows how and when to refer patients to Financial Advocates.
Has knowledge of which rules, forms and questions must be enforced to make sure Advocate Health remains compliant with government agencies and regulations. Examples are HIPAA, Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), Consent for Treatment, Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Important Message from Medicare (IMM), Medicare Outpatient Observation Notice (MOON), Notice of Privacy Practices, Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ), Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN). Obtains patient or guarantor signatures as required.
May schedule patient appointments: may also coordinate cancellations, reschedules, wait list requests, and recall requests. Provides accurate, detailed information regarding test preparations, patient arrival time, medication/food/beverage consumption guidelines, check-in procedures, directions to facility, etc.
Creates a welcoming and professional environment for our patients and visitors by demonstrating extraordinary customer service. Greets patients and visitors and responds to routine requests for information. Answers telephone, screens calls, and takes messages. Offers various assistance to patients to include arranging transportation needs, providing directions, locating a wheelchair, coordinating interpreter services, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Administers nursing care to patients; includes assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient’s care plan in coordination with the physician.

Pay Range:
$41.10 - $61.65This position will be responsible for debt management support for the Enterprise. The role will support transactions, ongoing disclosure and covenant monitoring, compliance reporting and analysis, and the support of other Treasury-related activities as required. The analyst will support multiple credit groups across Advocate Health as part of the Enterprise Treasury team.
Assist in financing activities and the issuance of taxable and tax-exempt debt, including request for proposal process and negotiations and the drafting of marketing materials or other documents as needed.
Monitor the compliance of all outstanding debt. This includes, but is not limited to, tracking the costs of issuance and the use of all proceeds, maintaining a private business use database and modeling for IRS reporting, retaining pertinent bond records, monitoring and measuring all debt covenants, and preparing ongoing compliance packages for stakeholders and distributing all quarterly and annual filings.
Review and approve invoices for debt service payments and other finance-related fees.
Prepare monthly debt tracking reports for rates, interest expense and other related financing costs including variance tracking to budget. This will also include preparation of forecasts and slide presentations for the Treasurer and Board.
Analyze and perform lease versus buy analysis on proposals (real property and equipment) and prepare term sheet and analysis on intercompany loans and joint venture financing strategies.
Maintain policies, procedures, and operational controls related to debt and derivatives, leasing, and compliance.
Assist in managing external relationships; interact with bankers, attorneys, and advisors to accomplish objectives.
