We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Psychiatrist / Medical Director to lead our Community Behavioral Health programs, including the Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse (CABHA) services and Community Support Team (CST). This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with executive leadership, overseeing the delivery of exceptional patient care while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for mental health treatment, strong management skills, and a comprehensive understanding of healthcare systems, research, and practice management. *Duties*
* Provide medical leadership and consultation regarding behavioral health service delivery, medical necessity, clinical risk, and coordination of care.
* Consult with clinical staff regarding complex psychiatric presentations, co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions, medication-related concerns, and other cases requiring physician-level input.
* Review and/or sign service orders and other clinical documentation when physician authorization is required and sufficient clinical information has been provided.
* Participate in review of significant clinical incidents, hospitalizations, adverse trends, high-risk cases, and quality or safety concerns when physician consultation is appropriate.
* Assist with the development, review, and revision of clinical policies, procedures, protocols, quality-improvement initiatives, and risk-management practices.
* Support coordination and referral relationships with psychiatric providers, primary care providers, hospitals, pharmacies, crisis providers, and other specialty providers.
* Participate in approximately one leadership or clinical-governance meeting per month and staff consultation at least quarterly, as required within the agreed scope.
* Provide reasonable review of complete non-emergency consultation and documentation requests, generally within 24–48 business hours.
* Support CABHA certification, accreditation, payer, credentialing, audit, and compliance activities requiring Medical Director involvement.
* Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, 42 C.F.R. Part 2 when applicable, NC Medicaid requirements, payer requirements, professional standards, and North Carolina law.
*Requirements*
* Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license.
* Psychiatric training and experience appropriate to the behavioral health Medical Director role.
* Active National Provider Identifier (NPI) and ability to meet Medicaid, payer, credentialing, and exclusion-screening requirements.
* Must complete required NCTracks affiliation/linkage with Kapital Connections, LLC within 14 calendar days of the effective contractual date.
* Must provide all required credentialing and onboarding documentation, including current license, NPI, W-9/contractor information, and Certificate of Insurance.
* Must maintain individual professional liability insurance of at least *$1,000,000 per claim and $3,000,000 annual aggregate*, subject to commercially reasonable availability.
* Ability to exercise independent medical judgment and identify when documentation, treatment, or requested physician authorization is clinically unsupported or outside the physician’s scope.
* Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Psychiatry; post-residency experience is strongly preferred.
* Valid medical license in the state of practice; DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
* Demonstrated experience in hospital settings or community mental health programs with a focus on treating patients as a physician.
* Extensive knowledge
Pay: $95.00 - $150.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8.0 – 10.0 per week

*JOB SUMMARY:*
* Conducts psychiatric assessment of Consumers, including both children and parents/guardians who are being served by the program.
* Participates in regular intervention reviews and ongoing treatment planning for all consumers.
* Meets regularly and as needed with consumers for medication monitoring/management; consults with families as appropriate.
* Provides regular psychiatric/medical consultation and direction to clinical staff.

* Participates in community collaborations and planning efforts.

* Completes all paperwork and record keeping required of position.

*WHAT WE ARE SEEKING IN A CANDIDATE:*
* Psychiatrist should be: licensed to practice medicine in Washington State; license and DEA certificate in good standing; ability to meet necessary privileging and credentialing criteria (JCAHO and NCQA). Board Certified as Adolescent Psychiatrist (or BE certification).
* Nurse Practitioner should be: Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and licensed to practice in Washington State; license and DEA certificate in good standing; ability to meet necessary privileging and credentialing criteria (JCAHO and NCQA).
* Two years’ experience working with children and families in a clinical setting with strong knowledge of child and adolescent development and family involvement.
* Demonstrated competence in assessment, diagnosis, medication evaluation and current, sound prescriptive practices for seriously mentally ill children.
* Commitment to strengths-based, family-centered, and individually-tailored clinical approaches.
* Ability to understand and work with multiple client-serving systems (mental health, child welfare, education, juvenile justice/courts, public health, social services).

These are professional clinical positions that enhances access and continuity of care through the provision of mental health services to clients by focusing on conducting clinical holistic intakes for programs with capacity that align with client needs. The Access Center Clinicians will provide screening to clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions within the clinician’s scope of practice, and will facilitate the initial treatment phase, intended to enhance positive treatment outcomes.
The primary role of the Access Center Clinician will consist of completing comprehensive intake assessments, providing appropriate clinical recommendations for care and collaborating with team members for ongoing treatment. After the comprehensive assessment is complete, the Access Center Clinician will refer the client to internal treatment programs; typically, the Access Center Clinician will not carry a long-term caseload. The Clinician will be an active member of a multi-functional team to promote client well-being and will partake in supportive supervision with their clinical supervisor.
