Chang Family Dental is looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dental family! We are seeking either a part-time or full-time hygienist to work Monday–Thursday in our modern, patient-focused practice in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Our wonderful hygienist is still currently enjoying extra time with her new baby and we are looking for someone who would be a great fit for our team. Whether you’re looking for a long-term position or are interested in joining us while she is on leave, we’d love to meet you.

*Responsibilities*

* Conduct oral cancer screenings and update/review health history
* Provide hygiene services such as routine prophy, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing
* Be proficient in hand instrumentation, use of Cavitron and use of Airflow polisher
* Educate patients of all ages on proper oral care
* Take X-rays when needed
* Maintain documentation and charts on each patient
* Monitor supplies
* Sterilize dental instruments and perform universal infection control procedures
* Ability to administer local anesthesia

*Skills*

* Proven experience as Dental Hygienist
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA)
* Experience in preparing and maintaining dental hygiene equipment
* Outstanding communication skills and capacity to work well with others
* A patient and friendly personality
* Attention to detail
* Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job
* Diploma in Dental Hygiene
* Valid license to practice
* Valid license to administer local anesthesia

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
