Job Description:
This position performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician for identification of cardiac or venous abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. This role is designed for recent graduates of an echocardiography program and/or new to the field or have minimal experience.

Essential Functions
- Competency; Must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department.
- Prioritize and schedule exams. Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
- Prepare for the exam by following patient identification processes, educating patient and family on procedure, and transporting the patient. Perform ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and in a timely manner. Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
- Throughout the exam, identify patient needs and appropriately communicate and coordinate patient care with physicians, other caregivers, patient, and family.
- After the exam, return patient to room and ensure patient stability and safety.
- Mentor caregivers and students on basic equipment use and procedural technique.
- Appropriately document exam results and other needed information. Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
- Clean and maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies. Follow appropriate channels to coordinate repair or supply needs.
- Support team and quality improvement processes and initiatives.
- Participate in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence and develop additional skills and knowledge. Provide education for other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Delivers wholistic ministry of spiritual care for patients, families, team members and physicians. Provides spiritual care, consultation and short-term counseling to patients, families, physicians, and team members as assigned and in accordance with site and system policies, facilitates sacramental ministries.
Responds to codes, emergencies and/or crises. Assists families with their needs in relation to the patient’s illness so they can provide supportive care to the patient: assists family members in understanding procedures surrounding a death and in contacting families or other significant persons. Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating in safety initiatives.
Participates in the life and work of the department and patient service area to assure integrated efficient services; participates in providing overall site coverage, including weekends and holidays, conducts services as scheduled; serves on department, site, or system committees as assigned.
Participates in patient care planning, interdisciplinary team activities and development, staff and patient directed support groups, orients new team members; participate in grand rounds, case conferences, team meetings, identifying resolving ethical dilemmas in assigned areas. Provides consultation to team members to assess the role of a patient’s faith in recovery. Represents the values of the religious communities to health care professionals and hospital associates.
Collaborates with the clinical pastoral education program by mentoring and/or orienting students as assigned and providing feedback to CPE Supervisor regarding student performance and educational needs.
Supports and interprets the mission and values of Advocate Aurora Health in clinical and departmental responsibilities and team member engagement. Supports the hospital ministry of parish clergy through referrals, consultation and education.
Participates in educational initiatives and support groups for patients and families, team members, community and faith groups; provides spiritual health education, crisis support and debriefings.
Maintains good standing and ecclesiastical endorsement through active participation in the life and work of one’s faith group.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
4 units of CPE, at least three accredited by ACPE (CPE not required in Georgia).
Eligible for board certification as a chaplain: APC/BCCI, NACC, NAJC; completed within 18 months of hire.

Education Required:
Completed graduate degree (MA, MDiv) in religious studies, theology, divinity or related field.
Experience Required:
Prior clinical experience as a chaplain: 3 years

Must be able to participate in overnight and weekend on-call rotation per the department schedule, including moving between sites of care as needed.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.
Spanish Fork Women’s Center is a 20 bed unit (8 LD and 12 postpartum) with 2 Operating Rooms that functions as a modified LDRP. The staff cover LD, Postpartum and Well Newborn Nursery which offers great experiences for both staff and patients alike. We are a level 1 facility that delivers uncomplicated pregnancies 35 weeks and beyond. We offer a hydrotherapy tubs in labor rooms and can accommodate unmedicated, low-intervention deliveries as well as multiple other care plans and pain relief modalities. We believe that moms and babies do best when they are together as much as possible so our rooms are designed with that in mind. We staff with a primary nurse model and ratios are based on acuity and clinical guidelines. We have an IBCLC available for lactation concerns as well.

The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.
The Nursing Graduate job can be utilized for up to 12 weeks while employees are in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and are working toward preparing, testing, and passing the State Boards examination (obtaining an RN license). After that 12-week period, or if the Nursing Graduate fails the State Board exam a second time, the employee can no longer remain in the Nurse Graduate job. 6. Complete and document nutrition assessments on high-risk patients according to standards of care; including but not limited to: appropriateness of diet to diagnosis, adequacy of current tube feeding, infant formula, or parenteral nutrition orders; assessment of laboratory values, drug-nutrient interactions, medical history, current nutritional needs, nutrition education needs, care plan development and writing orders in the electronic medical record when nutrition intervention is needed for a patient.
7. The Registered and Licensed Dietitians (RD/LD) at WVUH have been granted Order Writing Privileges (with physician co-signature) which have been approved and established by the WVUH Medical Executive Committee and the WVUH Board of Directors.These privileges may be utilized whenever the physician orders the “MNT Protocol”.This allows the registered dietitian (RD/LD) to order Medical Nutrition Therapies within their scope of practice as defined by the American Dietetic Association and West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians (WBOLD).
8. The RD is considered qualified with current registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, current licensure through the WVBOLD, and clinical competency as verified initially and through the annual performance appraisal process. (See RD order writing privileges policy for specific guidelines.)
9. Complete and document follow-up to assessments and consults according to standards.
10. Attend local or national meetings/conferences specifically those that physicians request dietitian attendance or those meetings/conferences required to maintain accreditation of hospital programs or foster partnership with other facilities.
11. If applicable, provides guidance and supervise daily activities of nutritional therapy support team, i.e. difficult or unusual diet orders, tube feeding calculations, infant formula calculations. Document potential/actual errors or harmful interactions with patients or staff committed by NCA’s on assigned units where appropriate (i.e. personnel file, medical record, etc.)Provide intervention and participate in disciplinary actions as appropriate.
12. Work with Physicians, Nurse Managers and nursing staff on assigned units to improve medical nutrition therapy to the patient, including diet texture changes, providing appropriate foods/texture for aspiration risk (also work with speech pathologist), timing of medications to prevent drug-nutrient interactions, etc.
13. Act on any patient food complaints, provide alternative selections and/or arrangements. Follow-up with appropriate managers on food quality issues.
14. Review and update clinical rotation assignments annually to reflect changes in practice and feedback from previous interns, unless determined by student's university. Develop and teach classes regarding area of specialization to the interns (i.e. renal nutrition, oncology, nutrition support, etc.).
15. Monitor interns, making certain that they are functioning to standards before leaving unsupervised. Review and co-sign all intern documentation in the medical record. Correct assignments and evaluate progress within 2 weeks of the end of the rotation. Attend intern case study presentations, question interns, evaluate presentation.
16. As requested, develop and present in-services to other health care personnel, food service personnel, and students.
17. As requested, develop and present lectures to community groups.

Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located.
Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Job Duties
- Provide excellent customer service to all patients, guests, and family members.
- Create, activate, and complete the patient scheduling, clinic registration, or hospital admission process.
- Ensures all required forms are completed and other paperwork/documents are gathered and accurate.
- Efficiently and accurately gathers and inputs patient/guarantor demographic and financial information; explains insurance benefits and collects co-pays, deductibles and self-pay portions due.
- Performs financial analysis of each case and informs patient of financial responsibility
- Balances Cash drawer daily, prepares deposit slips and follow closing cash drawer process at the end of each shift.
- Demonstrates respect and cooperation in all staff relationships, and a genuine willingness to prevent or resolve inter-personal conflicts.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
