Job Description:
The Transporter provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation to patients throughout the medical complex. The employee will receive training and must demonstrate competency in moving of patients, including neonatal, pediatric (birth - 11 years), adolescents (12 - 17 years), adults (18 - 65 years), and geriatric (66 years and older).
The Transporter must be knowledgeable of department/hospital policies and procedures. They will guide their own professional growth and continuing education.

• Prior hospital transport experience (preferred)

7:00Am - 3:00PM Rotating weekends and holidays. This position will primarily support the Emergency Room with cleaning tasks and other duties as assigned.
Pay Range:
$18.85 - $28.30Major Responsibilities:- Cleans patient care areas, surgical areas, public/private restrooms, conference rooms, lobbies, offices, elevators, and stairwells.
- Cleans all environmental surfaces including ceilings and vents, walls, doors, furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, and windows. Assists in cleaning emergency spills as requested.
- Dusts and damp mops floors in patient and exam rooms, corridors, stairwells, restrooms, and other areas of the facility.
- Replaces cubicle and window coverings.
- Gathers and disposes recyclables, trash, and medical waste. Collects hazardous trash following established infection control guidelines.
- Sorts, stocks and delivers linens. Gathers and prepares soiled linen for transportation.
- Cleans and prepares dismissal and transfer units and certain equipment used in the care of patients and distributes non-medical supplies to specific areas.
- Fills and cleans supply dispensers.
- Inventories linens, cleaning supplies and paper supplies and orders additional in a timely and cost effective manner. Keeps housekeeping closet organized and clean.
- Reports any mechanical failures or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to:
- lift up to 35 lbs. from floor to a maximum 5 ft.
- lift and carry up to 20 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to:
- push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach above shoulders, and crawl to complete tasks.
- Must also be able to push/pull/drag equipment such as hospital beds, and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to be on feet the majority of the time with both walking/standing throughout the shift.
- Must have ability to wear protective clothing as will be exposed to strong germicidal solutions, cleaning chemicals, temperature changes, soiled linen, infectious waste (blood and body fluids). Requires that incumbent be familiar with policies on handling infectious and hazardous waste.
- Must have ability to operate vacuum cleaners, mopping equipment, buffer or burnisher, automatic scrubber, up to six-foot stepladder, and other cleaning tools.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job, including telephones, zone phones, and pagers.

Job Description:
The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.
The Nursing Graduate job can be utilized for up to 12 weeks while employees are in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and are working toward preparing, testing, and passing the State Boards examination (obtaining an RN license). After that 12-week period, or if the Nursing Graduate fails the State Board exam a second time, the employee can no longer remain in the Nurse Graduate job. These employees can apply for any open jobs they qualify for, including jobs requiring a certification the employee currently holds (i.e., CNA, etc.). Failure to either pass boards or to be hired into another job will result in termination.
Registered Nurse graduates must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program before providing direct patient care (including direct patient care supervised by a licensed RN).

Essential Functions
- Demonstrates understanding of the steps in the nursing process and how the patient plan of care is developed, implemented, and revised to meet the needs of the patient (under direct supervision of an RN).
- Assessment: Collects patient data (e.g., vital signs) under the direct supervision of the RN and reports significant changes in patient condition. Completes accurate documentation also under the direct supervision of the RN.
- Planning: Observes and discusses with the RN the prioritization of patient needs among all patients assigned to their care during any one shift, and observes the development and modification of the interdisciplinary plan of care used to care for individual patients (under the direct supervision of the RN).
- Implementation: Observes the implementation of the patient plan of care, giving consideration to specialized needs of patients such as their physical, emotional, and social needs, age, ethnic origin, and other factors (under the direct supervision of the RN).

Phlebotomy Technician Lab Assistant II collects, accessions, and processes patient specimens in preparation for testing in the various sections of Laboratory Medicine. The role functions in a technical and non technical capacity to assess fitness of specimens for all levels of testing. This role also performs waived testing where designated.
- Performs venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
- Exhibits knowledge of adequate and correct collection requirements.
- Performs accessioning procedures appropriately and accurately to ensure positive identification of the specimens.
- Safely handles potentially infectious blood, body fluids, body tissues, and other patient specimens in compliance with regulatory standards.

As a phlebotomist, you'll support Geisinger’s mission of providing exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services. At Geisinger, our phlebotomists are the friendly faces that collect samples to be analyzed by our state-of-the-art labs. Supporting a varied patient population, you’ll be responsible for venipunctures/skin punctures on patients in our inpatient setting.
There are many other tasks our phlebotomists complete, such as troubleshooting physician orders, processing specimens for testing, as well as aiding our patients.
We have many different skill levels in our labs, from new to experienced phlebotomists, and all skill levels are well utilized. Geisinger employs phlebotomists in roles I, II, and III. We also have numerous staff members who pursue their ASCP certification and become trainers for our department!
Phlebotomist I, II and III qualifications will be considered at appropriate compensation. Salary commensurate with experience.
- Experience as a nursing assistant (NA), certified nursing assistant (CNA), medical assistant (MA), certified medical assistant (CMA) or similar will be considered!

Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Techs are asked to perform the four basic departmental functions (decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch) with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy. The SPD Tech will display resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism while adhering to the standards and procedures associated with the preparation, sterilization, storage, and delivery of surgical instrumentation per Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Associates of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN), and CDC guidelines.

• Assembles supplies and places into case carts for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures

Position Summary and Purpose
The primary purpose of Sterile Processing is to assist in direct patient care by ensuring the OR staff has correct, fully functional, sterile instrumentation delivered in a timely manner consistent with the highest standards of customer service. Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Techs are asked to perform the four basic departmental functions (decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch) with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy. The SPD Tech will display resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism while adhering to the standards and procedures associated with the preparation, sterilization, storage, and delivery of surgical instrumentation per Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Associates of perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN), and CDC guidelines.
Essential Functions:
• Answers telephone promptly and assist caller with obtaining items needed
• Assembles supplies and places into case carts for scheduled and non-scheduled procedures
• Makes rounds throughout the hospital to deliver sterile and non-sterile instrumentation, supplies and equipment, and to pick-up contaminated or credit instrumentation, supplies and equipment
• Delivers scheduled case carts to the Surgery Department
• Inventories and delivers back-up case carts to the Surgery Department and required areas
• Maintains responsibility for returned instrumentation and supplies (if applicable) that is unused, and the integrity of packaging has not been compromised
• Performs cleaning and decontamination duties, working quickly and safely and thoroughly addresses all instrumentation taking into account any unique cleaning demands
• Inspects, assembles, and packages all decontaminated reusable instruments and sets ensuring for cleanliness and functionality of all instrumentation
• Operates all processing equipment used within the department
• Performs sterilization and all associated monitoring activities
• Observes all safety and security procedures; Reports potential unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly
• Assists in keeping the department organized, neat, clean, and fully stocked while providing quality customer service to all customers, including co-workers

SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs CT (to include cardiac CT where applicable) examination to provide cross-sectional images and complex data processing of images for determining medical treatment and diagnosis. Provides in-depth and complete case synthesis of patient files to promote expedited and timely interpretations by physicians
- Performs the duties associated with the operation of the nuclear pharmacy as defined in the Radiotherapy Policy and Procedure.
- Provides care for the physical needs of patients by executing various nuclear and CT imaging scan concepts to maximize performance. This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors. Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications / limitations associated with certain procedures. Proactively identifies how to address these for optimum outcomes.
- Schedules nuclear & CT imaging procedures appropriately and performs other administrative tasks related to the development of new diagnostic procedures and/or imaging areas as assigned. Moves between modalities as needed for the most efficient and effective service and outcomes.

- Follows radiation safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Properly utilizes patient radiation protection and immobilization during diagnostic procedures.

Schedule/Hours:
10 hour DAY shift 0730 - 1800 with flexible start times based on surgical schedule with a rotating day off. Weeknight, weekend, and holiday call is divided equally among staff. Must live within 30 minutes of the hospital for On Call

Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures (e.g., assistance with gowning and gloving; preparation and draping of the surgical area; provision of a sterile field, instruments, suture and related materials; anticipation of the Surgeons' needs; passing of instruments and/or supplies; holding of retractors, observing and reporting possible breaks in aseptic technique; and assisting in maintaining a sterile, dry, unobstructed field).
- Performs all types of procedures and maintains basic knowledge of a variety of procedures.
- Ensures the environmental disinfection, safety and efficiency of the operating room. Speech Therapists on the float team work across multiple hospital and rehabilitation sites, supporting patients with complex medical and post‑acute needs. Job Description:
Provides direct speech‑language pathology services to patients across the age spectrum, as appropriate. Evaluates patients, interprets assessments, establishes individualized plans of care, and implements appropriate treatment interventions within scope of practice to restore function, prevent disability, and promote maximum independence. May provide therapy services under direct access when permitted by applicable state licensure. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and caregivers to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Major Responsibilities
- Age‑Appropriate Patient Care
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served across the lifespan. - Treatment Implementation
- Implements therapeutic interventions to address communication, cognitive‑communication, and feeding/swallowing impairments. Adjusts treatment approaches based on patient performance and response while ensuring safe, effective care within defined scope of practice.
- Goal Setting and Outcome Monitoring
- Establishes functional goals in collaboration with patients and caregivers and monitors outcomes to enhance communication, cognitive‑communication, and feeding/swallowing abilities. Modifies treatment plans as appropriate and communicates progress and plans of care with providers, clinical staff, referral sources, and interdisciplinary teams. Coordinates patient schedules across disciplines as needed.
- Patient and Caregiver Education
- Provides education to patients and caregivers based on assessed needs, preferences, and learning barriers. Educates regarding diagnosis, progress toward goals, treatment interventions, and home programs. Supports discharge planning by providing written instructions and recommendations to promote continued functional communication and safety.
- Professional Communication
- Communicates professionally and in a timely manner with patients, caregivers, providers, staff, and external customers. Responds to staff inquiries, promotes open communication, informs supervisors of issues and resolutions, and may participate in patient care conferences and multidisciplinary meetings to support coordinated care.

The Surgery Scheduler manages the complex logistics of booking surgeries, acting as a central coordinator between providers and provider office teams, patients, hospital departments and facility sub-specialties to ensure that ORs, equipment, and staff are ready. - Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
