PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Functions as a collaborative interprofessional team member by participating in care coordination rounds. Seeks guidance from others and collaborates with all members of the interprofessional care team by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information and data in a comprehensive manner.
- Uses therapeutic communication, which includes active listening and teaching, to establish a relationship with patients, families and interprofessional health care team to collaborate on the plan of care. Communicates regular updates to management, nursing, physicians, and other staff as needed to care for patients.
- Contributes towards improvement of department scores for employee engagement, i.e. peer-to-peer accountability.
SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Implements nutritional care according to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Nutrition Care Process (NCP) which includes, but not limited to, medical nutrition therapy, nutrition education, monitoring and reassessment of nutrition care plans, recommending consultation of adjunctive services (social services, speech pathology, immediate referral to RN re: pain assessment, etc.) as indicated, and termination of nutrition interventions as clinically indicated.
- Performs Nutrition Focused Physical Assessment (NFPA) as indicated, based on NFPA findings, identifying patients with malnutrition, degree of malnutrition and whether present on admission or hospital acquired. Collaborates with health care team to document correct degree of malnutrition in electronic medical record (EMR) to ensure adequate intervention for positive outcomes
- Ensures correct degree of malnutrition and whether malnutrition is present on admission or hospital acquired is documented in the EMR for hospital financial indicators.
- Contributes towards improvement of department score for patient satisfaction, through peer-to-peer accountability to service standards.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures continuity of care by completing quality monitors. Identifies and documents evaluation of outcomes by completing test trays of various diets to ensure quality, consistency and accuracy of meals provided.
- Provides care to patients and coordinates care with the interprofessional team. Manages usual patient assignments and other departmental demands, completes patient care responsibilities in a timely manner with accurate documentation. Uses evidence-based practice to support care and communicate directly with interprofessional team to ensure patient nutrition needs are met.
- Identifies opportunities for corrective action and process improvement. Identifies areas of practice improvements with research-based evidence to achieve patient safety outcomes, supported by accurate documentation. Contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Positively impacts quality and cost outcomes by assuring optimal medical nutrition therapy to minimize potential complications related to alterations of nutrition status. Adjusts nutrition care plan to provide the most appropriate and cost-effective therapy. Ensures correct degree of malnutrition and whether malnutrition is present on admission or hospital acquired is documented in the EMR for hospital financial indicators.
- Utilizes resources with cost effectiveness and value creation in mind. Self-motivated to independently manage time effectively, minimzing incidental overtime and prioritize daily tasks, assisting coworkers as needed. Meets labor productivity standards by effectively managing established patient load assignments.

- Maintains professional development competencies by reviewing research for application to practice. Maintains semi-annual professional portfolio for professional growth.
- Conducts interdepartmental training & mentorship to include: a minimum of one diet knowledge training session for nutrition assistants annually, mentorship of student volunteers and/or food service employees as applicable.

- Processes all orders/requests accurately and efficiently, verifying appropriateness of all drugs in reference to the patient’s diagnosis, allergies, height and weight. - Provides patient-specific and non-patient specific drug information support regularly.
- Serves as a member on one or more Medical Staff committees and actively contributes to accomplishing the goals of the committee.

Job Requirements:

Internal Medicine Asheboro is located on Rock Crusher Rd in Asheboro. This is a very busy office with 3 full-time providers.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e., chief complaint, allergies, and/or medications). Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/ Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assists the Physician/ Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APP orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.

Our PCTs support a diverse population of medical and orthopedic patients with an average PCT‑to‑patient ratio of 8–9:1 on night shift. Essential Functions
- Prioritize and deliver basic patient care, including toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, fresh water and ice, ambulating, comfort measures, and other patient needs, while providing excellent customer service when responding to patient and family requests.

Job Description:
The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in the clinical setting and participates appropriately in the patient care delivery process. The incumbent also orients to the RN assignment, excluding independent nursing care. This position may participate in medication administration under the direction and supervision of the licensed RN.
The Nursing Graduate job can be utilized for up to 12 weeks while employees are in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program and are working toward preparing, testing, and passing the State Boards examination (obtaining an RN license). Essential Functions:
- Supervise the technical and operational management of all pre and post analytical functions across multiple departments. Act as a resource in the daily operations and activities of multiple lab departments. Collaborate with the patient care department’s leadership team to evaluate service needs and volumes. Coordinate with transportation of specimens from submitting locations.
- Maintains continuous 24/7 hospital laboratory services requiring multiple shifts of support staff including nights, weekends, and holidays. Evaluate and maintain staffing levels, assign daily work schedules, and plan/coordinate around emergency/disaster/surge situations.
- Maintains competency across multiple disciplines. Monitor system for billing errors, making appropriate corrections and overseeing the operations of multiple disciplines within departments including exception handling, send-outs, registration, client services, waived testing, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g. CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, etc.), develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOP’s), participate in audits, inspections, and performance improvement initiatives. As of August 1, 2019, all Multi-Modality Technologist's hired on or after August 1,2019 will be required to have an advance certification by an accrediting body in a specialty if applicable. BLS certification required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience. Must be actively working in each certified modality, in accordance with the needs of the facility. The Multi-Modality Technologist I will be required to rotate and cover department scheduling as needed and required in areas where obtained certifications apply. - Contributes towards meeting department financial targets on unit-based scorecard through decreasing length of stay, optimizing efficiency and other areas according to department specifications.

- Identifies and presents areas for innovation, efficiency and improvement in patient care or unit operations using evidence-based practice literature. Offers innovative solutions through evidence-based practice/performance improvement projects and shared governance activities.
- Champions new care pathways or service line implementation to improve service to the community. Identifies trends for improvement opportunities or practice changes and supports initiatives. Researches the change and presents options to shared governance and leadership.
