Major Responsibilities:
Interprets physician referrals and evaluates the patient's physical, perceptual, cognitive, social, and vocational abilities and their impact on the patient's activities of daily living.
Establishes a plan of care and implements individual treatment based on evaluation results, functional goals and by utilizing appropriate techniques. Provides and/or fabricates assistive devices and/or splints to enhance patient's functional independence. Monitors and evaluates outcomes and appropriately adjusts individualized treatment plan based on patient's response and provides status updates to physicians and other teammates. Identifies factors affecting patient's physical and psychosocial comfort and attends to these needs.
Plans for and completes patient discharge including providing written home programs, patient/family teaching, referral for community services, transition planning within the continuum of care and ordering equipment as indicated/appropriate. Communicates and collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to assist in achieving optimum care for the patient.
Completes all required documentation following department policy and accreditation standards with appropriate co- signatures, including patient evaluations, progress notes, team conference reports, and discharge summaries as appropriate. Record patient care and progress of each patient assigned. Completes daily statistics, billing, and scheduling. Applies insurance guidelines regarding authorization and number of visits. Responsible for maintaining site/department established productivity standards. Responsible for understanding and adhering to all billing and documentation policies, procedures, and timelines.
Responsible for cleaning up after patient treatment, putting away equipment, and keeping area neat and orderly. Performs various manual techniques, patient positioning, transferring and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique. Demonstrates skill in use of modalities, exercise equipment and other devices that are available in area worked per department orientation checklist. Demonstrates knowledge of indications and contraindications of modalities and exercise. Promotes patient safety by participating in safety initiatives as requested and appropriately follows all safety and infection control measures pertaining to the general working environment.
Participates in performance improvement activities designed to identify and resolve problems affecting patient care outcomes and to improve quality of care. Manages assigned caseload, informing site leadership of coverage needs and ability to cover; assists with coverage, based on department needs and regional needs.
Pursues professional growth through participation in continuing education courses, department in-services, and reading professional literature. Orients new staff to clinical and department policies as requested. Participates in the evaluation process of co-workers by providing verbal or written feedback as requested.
May supervise occupational therapy assistants following all applicable state and local compliance requirements. This includes delegating patients to assistive personnel while providing direction, recommendations regarding treatment and ongoing supervision while maintaining responsibility for patient plan of care and goals. May directly supervise occupational therapy extenders (rehab aides/techs) in administering treatments to patients and will teach them appropriate techniques to perform with specific patients. May supervisor occupational therapy students after completing one year of clinical experience.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school or educational requirements commensurate with the date of graduation; maintains continuing education requirements as mandated by applicable state professional standards
Certification / Registration / License
Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State upon which you work. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (obtained within 90 days unless department leader has determined is not required) by American Heart Association (AHA)

$38.20 - $57.30Atrium Health Kings Mountain 2 North/Progressive Care is a 33-bed medical-surgical and progressive care combined unit providing care for adult patients with a diverse range of acute medical conditions. Our patient population commonly includes pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, heart failure, chest pain, stroke, acute kidney injury, diabetes-related complications, electrolyte imbalances, infections, and other complex medical diagnoses. As the highest level of inpatient care at our hospital, our nurses develop strong clinical judgement through early recognition of changes in patient condition, close collaboration with providers, and timely coordination of transfers when a higher level of care is needed. Our nurses work alongside physicians, respiratory therapy, rehabilitation services, care management, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Experience

Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years demonstrated leadership experience including coaching, training, and change management is required. Experience may include non-supervisory roles.

Our patient population consists of preterms 32 week gestation and above, infants of diabetic mothers, sepsis, respiratory distress, feeding issues, and substance withdrawal. Our team consists of 24/7 on site Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, daily Neonatologist coverage, lactation consultants, OT/SLP rehab team, and dieticians. We have an amazing team that is passionate about providing excellent care for neonates and their family. Skills include lactation support, neurodevelopmental care, CPAP, ventilators, chest tubes, extended dwell IV lines, surfactant administration, delivery attendance with neonatal resuscitation.
Full time, 36 hours a week, nights, self-scheduling every 8 weeks. There is weekend and holiday requirements.

Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiothoracic Surgery - Denver, CO

Intermountain Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our highly respected Cardiothoracic Surgery program based at Intermountain Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside three Cardiothoracic Surgeons and a collaborative team of advanced practice providers while practicing at the top of your license in a comprehensive surgical role.
From first assisting in complex cardiac and thoracic procedures to managing patients across the ICU, telemetry units, clinic, and postoperative settings, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding surgical outcomes and patient experiences.
Clinical Practice Details
- You would practice at our CT Surgery clinic and Intermountain Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO
- Rotating schedule with 4 total PAs, including 24-hour call coverage and weekend rounding
- Occasional call and rounding at St. Joseph Hospital, a sister facility in Denver
- First assist in cardiac/thoracic surgeries; minimal vascular case load including dialysis access
- On average, one case per day
- MUSThave proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting
- Place foley catheters and invasive lines
- Team responsibilities include ICU/ telemetry rounding, discharges and first assist coverage for all cases
- Clinic coverage for post-op patients
What you’ll bring

Compensation:
- Our compensation consists of a base salary plus call pay (Q4 call). The salary is calculated on years of experience and can range from $140,000 - $193,000.
- Additionally, we are offering a $25,000 sign on bonus as well as relocation, if applicable (up to $7500).
- You would also receive up to $4,000annually to take CME plus an additional 5 days of time over PTO.

This hospital-based position provides leadership and strategic medical direction for gynecologic care occurring at St. George Regional Hospital. The Medical Director is responsible for advancing safe, highly reliable, consistently delivered, evidence-based, patient-centered gynecologic care across the hospital. The role provides clinical leadership for gynecologists, gynecologic surgeons, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeons, urogynecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, gynecologic oncologists, advanced practice providers, and other clinicians participating in hospital gynecologic care, regardless of employer affiliation.
The Medical Director will work collaboratively with hospital administration, physician leaders, nursing, operations, clinical programs, clinical shared services, quality, patient safety, medical education, research, and other supporting services. The leader will champion Intermountain Health’s mission, vision, values, Framework for Excellence, and Fundamentals of Extraordinary Care through clinical excellence, effective communication, innovation, continuous improvement, stewardship, and professional partnership.
Scope
The Medical Director - Gynecology, St. George Regional Hospital is a hospital administrative leadership role with regional and enterprise participation expectations as appropriate. The position reports through the hospital Chief Medical Officer and collaborates closely with hospital administration, nursing leadership, operations leadership, the OB/GYN Department Chair or equivalent medical staff leader, the Senior Medical Director for Women’s Health, and applicable clinical program and specialty leaders.
The role encompasses gynecologic care provided within St. George Regional Hospital, including inpatient gynecology, benign gynecologic surgery, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, urogynecology procedures, reproductive endocrinology procedures performed in the hospital, gynecologic oncology services, perioperative care, consultation services, and gynecologic emergency care. The role does not include accountability for outpatient clinics or clinic operations and does not include employment decisions or direct supervisory accountability for physicians or advanced practice providers. Employment-related matters remain with each clinician’s employer. The Medical Director may participate in hospital medical staff, credentialing, privileging, peer review, quality, safety, and professional practice processes within the authority of those established structures.
Leadership Model

- Oversee and advance quality, safety, stewardship, and patient experience for hospital gynecologic care provided by physicians and APPs with privileges at St. George Regional Hospital.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of quality dashboards, departmental key performance indicators, key process indicators, and patient outcome measures for hospital gynecologic services.
- Monitor and drive key performance outcomes; review results with appropriate hospital, department, nursing, operations, surgical services, quality, and medical staff leaders; and identify opportunities to improve care.
- Lead or support process improvement efforts and clinical program development directed toward achievement of hospital gynecologic quality, safety, utilization, stewardship, patient experience, and strategic goals.
- Participate in peer review, HEAT reviews, root cause analyses, rapid event investigations, case reviews, and other established quality and patient safety processes involving gynecologic care; communicate lessons learned and support resulting clinical or protocol improvements.
- Address clinical quality, safety, professionalism, or performance concerns through appropriate hospital medical staff, including the Department Chair and Medical Executive Committee, and quality structures. The Medical Director will not make employment decisions and will coordinate employment-related follow-up with the clinician’s employer when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution. Education is verified.

Coordinates any necessary Hospital items with nursing staff at the Hospital. Calls in surgical/procedure order for Providers the Hospital surgery/procedure scheduler day before cases.
- Meets with surgery/procedure patients to explain the process. This includes pre-op labs, tests, or any pre-requisite that needs prior attention. Coordinates with Providers and Medical Staff any red flag pre-operative health concerns for patient safety.

• ED Unit Clerks are responsible for calling and initiating hospital call downs for the ED. This includes tier 1 and tier 2 trauma calls, AMIs, and Strokes, as well as calling down Code Black Level 1 and 2 for the hospital.
• Monitors and operates the 13 bed camera Patient Safety Surveillance program for patients who require extra visual and auditory monitoring.
• Responsible for scanning all encounter level documents into patient charts for emergency room physicians, nurses, and ED Techs. Also provide encounter scanning for Case Management/MSW, for all law enforcement documentation and subpoena information, and for the ED Pharmacy Department. This ensures the proper documentation is compiled for patients, creating the most accurate and complete medical record.
• Arrange and facilitate all patient EMS transfers out of the ED including transfers to nursing facilities, home to patients’ current residence, to KNI for imaging not offered at Bronson, and to KPEP for those patients who qualify. ED Unit Clerks are the only ED employees trained to use the Bronson Transfer Tracking Application.
• Facilitates and monitors the ED’s admission process. Responsibilities range from ensuring the ED Physician pages the correct admitting provider, to broadcasting to the team when the patient has a clean and ready inpatient hospital bed assignment. This helps ED staff expedite moving patients to inpatient status in a timely manner in order to reach SBAR and GEMBA goals, as well as provide the best possible care to patients.
• Facilitates ordering priority 1 blood and initiates massive transfusion protocols with the blood bank. ED Unit Clerks also do the “running” for massive transfusions, which entails retrieving the products from the blood bank and delivering back to the ED.
• Responsible for obtaining medical records from any and all outside hospitals for continuation of patient care for ED Physicians. Collects and encounter scans all requested records into the patients chart.
• Create a daily Physician call schedule for all consulting and emergent services offered by BMH. This involves maintaining and collecting all on-call schedules for all relevant offices and medical groups in the Kalamazoo/BMH area.

Function as a Patient Safety Assistant for suicide precautions only, which includes,
- Safe patient handling required.
- Responsibilities include observation and reporting patient activities and behaviors and appropriate response intervention to assure patient safety. The Patient Safety Assistant will demonstrate appropriate communication skills with patient/patient family and other healthcare providers, and practice confidentiality and safety procedures as defined by agency. The Patient Safety Assistant provide services in accordance with policy and procedure manuals. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
- Maintain appropriate knowledge level to assist in patient turns and assist in patient transfer to commode/bathroom.
- Uses correct body positioning, proper body mechanics to avoid injury, utilizes safe work practices (e.g. pushing vs. pulling, patient transfer/lifting devices, etc.) and uses personal protective equipment when necessary.

- Hemodynamic monitoring of patient during procedure and reporting values to performing physician
- Monitors delivery of radiation dose to patient to achieve safe delivery with minimal exposure to staff.
- Transmit, archive, and retrieve digital images in picture archiving and communicating systems (PACS)
- Performs quality control standards by using the optimum diagnostic imaging and performing regular maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

Principal Accountabilities
- Performs MRI procedures on patients: Prepares patients for MRI exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the MRI scanner, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
- Enters and monitors patient data.
- Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
- Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
- Takes emergency call within the department.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.

Job Duties:
Assesses plans, organizes, performs, and evaluates nursing activities to meet the needs of the patient. Promotes adaptive responses of patient and family to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize patient satisfaction. Exhibits compassionate care during patient-nurse interactions. Coordinates patient care and interaction of staff. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in their assigned nursing unit. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all interactions.
- Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards.
- Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
- Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards including, patient and family education, family needs and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Provides direct patient care including, treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
- Evaluates effectiveness of nursing interventions and revises plan of care based upon patient response to interventions.
- Initiates collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and other interdisciplinary team members and acts to proactively resolve and facilitate patient needs.
- Problem solves, troubleshoots and takes corrective measures in the care and handling of equipment.
- Participates in unit-based decision-making regarding the utilization of evidence- based practice.

Unit Details:
Advanced Acute Care Orthopaedics (HFAM6) is a 30 bed private room, post-surgical care, mostly orthopedic, medical/surgical, telemetry unit offering a challenging and professional work environment. We care for a diverse adult population that may include trauma, orthopedic, and/or general medical/surgical. We have (2) bariatric rooms with overhead lifts, (2) negative pressure rooms, and an on-site patient gym to partner with physical and occupational therapy.
