Schedule Details/Additional Information:
This is a Per Diem (Registry) Registered Nurse position within the Outpatient Oncology Infusion Center.
Schedule and position requirements include:
During orientation and training, candidates must be available to commit to 2–3 shifts per week to support consistent training and successful completion of orientation.
Once orientation and training are successfully completed, the minimum scheduling requirement is one shift every other week.
Available shift options include:
12-hour shifts: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
10-hour shifts: 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Required participation in a monthly 4-hour Saturday rotation from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Required participation in a Sunday on-call rotation for antibiotic patients only, approximately every 2–3 months.
Candidates must obtain the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Certificate within 30 days of hire if not already certified.
Pay Range:
$38.20 - $57.30Major Responsibilities:
- Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families through the continuum of care.
- Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
- Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
- Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
- May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
- Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution, fostering team collaboration and appropriate delegation.
- Pursues professional development, completes required education, and maintains certifications.
- Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and practices ethical decision-making, respects interdisciplinary roles, and contributes to integrated, unbiased patient care.
- Appropriate delegation to other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and unlicensed assistive personnel (i.e., nurse aides, credentialed medical assistants, etc.).
- Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
- May be required to float to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
Certification / Registration / License
- Basic Life Support (BLS). Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required based on specialty.
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
Note: Licensed nurses practicing via telehealth/telenursing/virtual modalities are required to be licensed or hold the privilege to practice in the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located. Licensed nurses are responsible and accountable for knowing, understanding, and practicing in compliance with the laws, rules, regulations, and standards of practice of the state(s) where the client(s) is/are located.
Experience
Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Qualifications:
Registered Medical Lab Scientist - $35.60-$54.93 based on experience
- Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory/medical technology science or chemical, physical, biological, or equivalent. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Applicants with chemical, physical, biological science or equivalent bachelor’s degree will be subject to education verification which may include transcript/credit evaluation by Laboratory Services Quality Assurance leadership, Required.
- OR - Completion of course work and internship requirements in a qualified MLS program and eligibility to sit for the BOC. Certification must be completed and documented within 6 months of hire to remain in the registered MLS role, Required.
- Medical Technologist / Medical Lab Scientist ASCP certification or equivalent certification as approved by Manager and Human Resources. Certification must be maintained to remain in job, Required.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays, nights and on-call, Required.

Degree will be verified, required.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays, nights and on-call, Required.
- Bachelor’s degree within 30 days of hire. Must meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing, required.
- Montana applicants must have state licensure, required.
- Military training and experience may substitute for bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements:
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

As a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you will work with two plastic surgeons and another APP and see patients seeking skin cancer treatment and reconstructive procedures following cancer or trauma.
- This position includes up to $7,500 in relocation assistance based upon distance
- You will practice at the Park Avenue Clinic in Denver, CO with privileges at St. Joesph Hospital
- Your hours will be (4) 10.0 hr. days
- You will be seeing on average 12 - 14 patients per day in the clinic for pre, post op and some new patient appointments

This job is a member of the inpatient pharmacy team and work directly with the department pharmacists to maintain and improve pharmacy services for the assigned areas. Responsible for the maintenance of the Automatic Dispensing Machine (ADM) system for adult and pediatric inpatient areas at the Medical Center under the supervision of pharmacist.

Job Duties
- Coordinate the setup, installation, and expansion of Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) MedStation systems.
- Communicate the status of Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) product projects/activities/issues to pharmacy and nursing staffs.
- Review reports of nursing activities and discrepancies and refer to pharmacist or nurse manager according to policy and procedure.
- Participate in policy and procedure development and review of Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) MedStation system.
- Assist in resolving Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) MedStation system issues as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Manage inventory of Automated Dispensing Machine (ADM) MedStation systems and perpetual inventory system
- Review inventory levels in perpetual inventory system.
- Review and adjust inventory max and min levels.
- Review all Batch reports (e.g., Refill, Stock-out, All Station Events, Charges and Credits, Discrepancies, Overrides).
- Facilitate and monitor pharmacy staff training (new and current staff).

The coding process reviews and analyzes health records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures for distinct patient encounters. Coders are responsible for translating diagnostic and procedural phrases utilized by healthcare providers into coded form procedure codes that can be utilized for submitting claims to payers for reimbursement. A joint effort between the healthcare provider and the coder is essential to achieve complete and accurate documentation, code assignment, and reporting of diagnoses and procedures.Job Duties:
- Reviews the content of the medical records from multiple EHR’s and on-site for both hospital and professional inpatient or outpatient records to identify principal diagnosis, secondary diagnoses and procedures performed.
- Carefully reviews details of documents such as laboratory findings, radiology reports, various scan reports, discharge summary, history and physical, consultations, orders, progress notes and other ancillary services treatment records needed to ensure all pertinent diagnoses and procedures are recorded.
- Failure to properly identify diagnoses and procedures may have a dramatic negative impact upon payment received by The Health Plan.
- Assigns codes based on hospital and professional coding guidelines, Coding Clinic directives, federal regulations, CCI coding initiatives, CPT Assistant or other standard coding guidelines.

At Houston Methodist, the System Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN) PRN position is a licensed staff nurse, an experienced clinician, functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice. The System Float Pool RN PRN position provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. The System Float Pool RN PRN position provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently which may include patients with varied and complex needs. This position communicates and collaborates with the physicians and interprofessional healthcare team to facilitate, coordinate, and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes. The System Float Pool RN PRN position demonstrates clinical competence when providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures, and managing emergencies, acting as a patient and family advocate in order to monitor and maintain patient rights. At Houston Methodist, the Registered Nurse (RN) II position is a licensed staff nurse, an experienced clinician, functions at the Competent to Proficient stage of Benner's model of clinical practice. The RN II position provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. The RN II position provides direct patient care effectively and efficiently which may include patients with varied and complex needs. This position communicates and collaborates with the physicians and interprofessional health care team to facilitate, coordinate and maintain compassionate, efficient, quality care and achievement of desired treatment outcomes. The RN II position demonstrates clinical competence when providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies, acting as a patient and family advocate in order to monitor and maintain patient rights. This position assumes leadership roles with progressive responsibility including but not limited to participating in or leading unit and shared governance initiatives, serving as charge nurse or preceptor to students or new employees, and possibly contributing to service line or hospital-wide initiatives in partnership with management.

Required
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure - Texas Board of Nursing_PSV Compact Licensure – Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency) and
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association and
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association within 4 months and
- NIHSTROKE - National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (AHA) - American Heart Association within 4 months
Preferred
- Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification or
