$25.30 - $37.95EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Successful completion of two-year college program for Physical Therapy Assistants approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). One year of previous experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current license in the State of applicable state to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant. CPR certification every two years.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Carries out physical therapy programs as planned and directed by the physical therapist in clinical and research applications. This involves training patients in exercises, ambulation, and activities of daily living. 2. Collects clinical assessment scores, radiographic scores and assessments, and health related quality of life information. 3. Performs a wide range of tests and evaluations in a clinical or research setting. This involves evaluation of developmental levels and functions, gross and fine motor skills, neurological-reflex testing, equilibrium, coordination, protective responses, muscle strength, muscle tone, joint range of motion, daily living skills and activities, and perceptual motor skills and defects. Screens for orthopaedic and physical defects, genetic anomalies, or idiopathic. 4. Maintains supplies and equipment. 5. Assists with research protocol and treatment development; ensures quality control of data. Develops and writes educational materials. 6. Participates in staff meetings, forums, committees, and in-service training activities. 7. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

This position facilitates laboratory organization and patient care, working closely with doctors, nurses, and medical laboratory scientists. Essential Functions:
- Utilizes Electronic Medical Record and/or Laboratory Information System to place orders, receive specimens, route specimens, track specimens, store specimens, label specimens using the appropriate policy and procedure, and query test results.
- Provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support to the department. Answers phones and provides information to nursing floor and physicians, office staff, couriers and patients. Dispatch of couriers, as required.
- Communicates test results and/or other reports to nursing units/physician offices. This may be in electronic form or printed form. This may include communication to providers, nurses, medical assistants, physician’s assistants or others working within the units or offices.
- Monitors and maintains supply inventory.
- Assists in the training and orientation of new associates.

- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Job Description:
The Surgical Services Support Technician is responsible for safely transporting patients to and from the operating room (OR) or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This role includes organizing and restocking equipment, cleaning surgical suites, assisting with room turnover, maintaining sterile technique, supporting OR and anesthesia caregiver requests, and transporting specimens and blood following safe verification policies.
The Surgical Services Support Technician is expected to be able to assist with prompt case turnovers prioritizing a clean and organized OR, SDS, PACU, or patient environment. Essential duties include working closely with the surgical team and adapting to dynamic situations. The technician may also need to respond to code situations and assist as required. Promoting the health organization’s mission, vision, and values is also a key expectation.
Expanded duties may include scrubbing into procedures and assisting by holding extremities, retractors, cameras, suction, or organs. Caregivers in this role are trained in Basic Aseptic Technique.
Shift Details
Full-time, 36 hours/week. Schedule will be determined when orientation is completed. Monday - Friday with variable start times and/or days with on-call requirements
Essential Functions
- Transports patients safely to and from the OR holding area, PACU or patient rooms, utilizing proper patient handling techniques, and assists with lifting positioning, and transferring patients as needed.
- Consults with the anesthesiologist and registered nurse (RN) to determine equipment, setup, and supply needs prior to procedures. In time, anticipates procedural requirements and proactively prepares the room with the necessary equipment and supplies.
- Processes post-surgical case carts by safely discarding sharps, emptying suction canisters, redistributing unused supplies, and sending carts to the Sterile Processing Department for reprocessing.
- Sets up fluid warmers, invasive lines, and sterile supplies for anesthesia procedures, when assigned.
- Ensures timely turnover of operating rooms by cleaning all surfaces, removing trash and soiled linen, mopping beneath the OR bed, and preparing the room thoroughly for the next surgical case.
- Transports blood products and specimens to and from the blood bank, OR, SDS, PACU, and laboratory/pathology departments, ensuring strict adherence to all verification and safety protocols.
- When assigned, stocks supplies such as masks and surgical attire in the OR, as well as dietary and storeroom supplies in SDS and PACU, or other supplies as directed by the facility.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the facility, which may include verifying and logging warmer temperatures, checking eyewash stations, maintaining the utility room, and other support tasks as needed.
- Maintains proper traffic patterns and adheres to sanitation protocols for surgical and anesthesia instruments and equipment.
- Expanded duties may include completing training in Basic Aseptic Technique, learning to scrub, gown, and glove independently, and attentively supporting the surgeon as directed, in accordance with the scope of practice for support personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice. Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Certified Nurse Midwife (Obstetrics/Gynecology)
As a Certified Nurse Midwife with Intermountain Health, you will join Southridge OB/GYN, supporting patients in our Riverton, Utah location. We are a group practice of 6 CNM's, 2 WHNP, 4 OBGYN Physicians, & 3 OB Hospitalist. Our midwives provide comprehensive health care for women, with a particular emphasis on wellness and patient choice. We support women in their childbirth decisions, whether it’s an unmedicated birth or epidural anesthesia.
The CNM will provide care in clinic, attend births, and round with mother/baby and antepartum patients in hospital. Our CNMs work at the top of their scope of licensure, admitting, caring for, and discharging patients from inpatient care. As a group practice sharing patients, we work in a highly collaborative model, consulting and collaborating with one another on a consistent basis.
This is a full time position and will be fully benefits eligible. Schedule will include outpatient clinic, and rotating call taken in 24 hour shifts.

$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities:
- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
- Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days, and
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
Education Required:
- Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or
- High School Graduate.

This is a multipurpose position in which duties range from carrying out basic patient care tasks as directed by a licensed therapist to overseeing a variety of operational activities for the department.

Scope
As a Rehab Aide you need to know how to:
- Assist with patient care by performing tasks under the direction and immediate supervision of a licensed Therapist.
- Assist with patient treatment with therapeutic exercise, functional activities, and/or modalities according to therapist direction.
- Report to therapist of record on patients status, progress and/or tolerance to therapy so that the therapist can modify the treatment plan/goals as necessary.
- Supervise and monitor patients for safety and patients are never left unattended.
- Perform assigned cleaning duties so that treatment areas and equipment are maintained according to infection control guidelines.
- Transport patients safely and in a timely manner without patient identification errors.
- Prepare patients/equipment for treatment according to therapist/assistant instruction.
- Effectively utilize critical thinking when problem solving.
- Recognize self-limitations and take initiative to seek additional resources or consultation.
- Successfully complete departmental competencies/audited skills.
