Education
Required - High school diploma or equivalent
Graduation from an approved EMT/Paramedic Program
Work Experience
Preferred – Two years of 911 experience as a Registered Paramedic.
Certifications
Required - Licensed in the state of practice as an EMT/Paramedic, Registered with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as an EMT/Paramedic, Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Current Driver’s License Class D in state of practice, Completion of Defensive Driving Course within 30 days of hire, and Completion of Haz-Mat Awareness Training.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to and experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
Ability to and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to adapt to change in a positive manner.
Job Duties
Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas.
Provides customer service to patients, families and staff.
Participates in activities for professional development, maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials and assumes responsibility for maintaining knowledge of departmental policies/procedures.
Demonstrates responsibility for the proper safekeeping and use of the advanced life support items used along with supervising other emergency personnel who may be present at the scene providing patient care.
Performs intake of medical history, performs physical exams, controls bleeding, provides airway control, restores and maintains circulation.
Consistently provides acutely correct and accurate documentation of patient care delivered to ensure accurate processing of billing to remain in compliance of departmental guidelines.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.

The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.
Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.

Job Duties:
Provides direct patient care and clinical support for physicians and other providers in the outpatient setting. Functions as an integral member of the health care team under the direction of the provider. - Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.

The Spine Center in Clemmons provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with neck, back, and spine conditions. Our multidisciplinary team is committed to delivering high-quality evaluation, treatment, and education while helping patients improve function, reduce pain, and return to the activities that matter most.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering/documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e., chief complaint, allergies, and/or medications). Monitors and completes Clinical Integration/ Quality Improvement measures with notification to clinician for opportunities within their scope.
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions/infection control guidelines.
- Assists the Physician/ Advanced Practice Professional (APP) with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers routine medications, under Physician/ APP orders or medical group approved standing orders/protocols, which may include but are not limited to immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with Physician/APP and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary. Effectively communicates accurate and timely information with the patient.
- May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty and appropriate competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. What you will do:

Collaborates with local and State fire officials, Facilities Managers and Construction / Real Estate team members to evaluate new codes / code changes that will impact Holy Cross Health facilities.
Coordinates and monitors Fire and Life Safety program elements in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations including, but limited to safety inspections for new construction, remediation and repair, and renovations projects.
Manages the Interim Life Safety Management (ILSM) program and all pertinent documentation for all Holy Cross Health facilities. Conducts Pre-Construction Risk Assessments to evaluate for life safety deficiencies during construction and renovation projects.
