Education
Required – High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Experience
Required – Work experience in an inventory management or distribution role.

Certifications
Required – Forklift certification only required if working at Warehouse District Row location within 30 days of hire.
Preferred – Supply Chain or Inventory Management Certification(s).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Job Duties
Ensures all internal and external customers service levels are maintained by monitoring customer service email account and phone line.
Generates and analyzes monthly productivity and supply chain reports to improve department efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensures inventory and purchase orders are accurately received, issued, and returned.
Trains new employees on receiving and central supply duties and responsibilities.
Resolves errors with receipts, customer orders, and/or par levels.
Works to improve supply chain processes, metrics, and customer satisfaction.
Identifies and addresses internal and external customer needs.
Performs other related duties as required.

Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Heavy Work. (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. At Houston Methodist, the Radiologic Tech I position is responsible for a variety of routine diagnostic radiology procedures to include X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures (to include support for OR cases) of moderate complexity utilizing digital radiography and fluoroscopy techniques. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special X-ray procedures. The Radiologic Tech I position delivers exceptional patient care and adheres to radiation standards and guidelines established by governing agencies to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service. This position is a member of the direct patient care team.

SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Performs diagnostic radiology procedures to include a variety of X-Ray exams, including OR and Fluoroscopy procedures.
- Proactively assesses, identifies and responds to the needs of the patient for adjustment or intervention to optimize patient care, image quality and patient experience. This includes: positioning, physiology, procedure preparation, and technical factors. Modifies technical factors to achieve desired imaging results and recognizes complications and limitations associated with certain procedures.
- Provides direct assistance to physicians during diagnostic or special procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
- Provides accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members at an appropriate level utilizing verbal and non-verbal skills, terminology and language.
QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follows safety standards and conducts all imaging procedures accordingly. Uses ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to protect patients, staff and general public, and follows radiation safety standards. Maintains proper sterile techniques for procedures, regularly practices aseptic techniques, and ensures compliance with radiation safety and infection control procedures. Complies with job role, department and hospital safety standards, practices and policies.
- Reports “near misses” and inputs errors promptly into appropriate hospital patient safety reporting system to improve processes and identify trends. Contributes to identification of corrective actions and improvement activities, and contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
- Performs daily imaging equipment quality control (QC) ensuring all imaging equipment is in safe working order prior to use. Reports any malfunctions to management and regularly practices preventive maintenance procedures; calls for service if needed.
- Utilizes critical thinking skills to observe and proactively address patient reactions (i.e., contrast media and medications) or potential outcomes and obtains assistance, as appropriate.

- Provides accurate and complete documentation of patient procedures. Enters charges at the time service is delivered.
- Uses resources efficiently; does not waste supplies. Self-motivated to independently manage time effectively and prioritize daily tasks.

Job Duties:
Provides direct patient care and clinical support for physicians and other providers in the outpatient setting. Functions as an integral member of the health care team under the direction of the provider. Additional Job Description details:
- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated. Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices.
- Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of the patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection. - Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. - Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Coordinates tests and treatments with and between various departments for patients on nursing units. Maintains a working knowledge of functions and services offered by all diagnostic and treatment departments to facilitate the scheduling of tests and treatments. Maintains working knowledge of EHR system and other computer systems for ordering patient and unit supplies and equipment. Processes daily patient charges and/or related procedures through the system.

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Major Responsibilities:
- Completes area-specific work as outlined by standard processes, procedures and adherent to policies
- Serves as an expert with equipment and technology in specialized area
- Problem solves technical issues in the specialized area as they arise
