This 28-bed inpatient unit specializes in caring for older adults—primarily patients aged 70 and above—while also serving individuals of all ages with cardiac and neurological conditions. You’ll gain experience managing a wide range of diagnoses including congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, strokes, TIAs, and seizure disorders. If you're looking for a dynamic environment with diverse patient needs and a strong focus on compassionate care, 2MESG is the place to grow your clinical skills.
We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- New grads welcomed!
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
What You’ll Do:
- As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Coordinates and manages all resources necessary to provide optimal nursing care, including availability of staff resources, patient care supplies and automated patient care systems. Effectively manages resources through systems management and coordinates system issues to assure optimal patient care.
Maintains an optimal level of productivity, based on the coordination of efficient 24-hour staffing and scheduling patterns and labor management standards.
Evaluates the quality of patient care provided by department staff by using standards of practice, patient outcomes and other quality indicators to include peer review, incident reports, use of policies and procedures, evaluation of equipment, supplies and products; ensures appropriate resources are available for department performance improvement initiatives.
Develops service strategies and monitors service levels against indicators to demonstrate improvement in customer and patient satisfaction. Coordinates and integrates services with other areas.
Maintains and promotes effective relationships with and between patients, families, department staff, other departments, medical staff and their support staff, other health care facilities and vendors. Acts as a liaison between medical and nursing staffs as necessary.
Facilitates evidence-based nursing by creating an environment that encourages utilization of evidence in practice and decision-making to maintain quality, cost and customer service; ensures integration of evidence in congruence with departmental, organizational, and strategic goals.
Participates in shared governance councils and provides feedback as requested. Makes recommendations for changes in nursing practice to shared governance councils and promotes new approaches and concepts. Supports shared governance by holding staff accountable and by monitoring and counseling department representative(s) to ensure role compliance.
Responsible for attaining and maintaining department's compliance with the Joint Commission (TJC) on Accreditation and other regulatory bodies.
Develops and communicates change initiatives. Achieves care management targets in area(s) of responsibility and achieves target improvements in employee engagement. Plans for staffing needs appropriately meeting established productivity benchmarks and achieves patient loyalty targets
Assists physicians and other departments with development of new services, identifying potential new sources of revenue and/or assisting in the marketing of existing and new programs.
Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
Responsible for understanding and adhering to the Aurora Health Care Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to Aurora's business.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required: Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices and certification in specialty within 1 year of eligibility.
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Experience Required: Typically requires 5 years of experience in nursing that includes experiences in multiple areas. Includes 1 year of supervisory experience in managing a staff and budgets in a nursing environment at the supervisory/management level.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
- Advanced knowledge of nursing management concepts, clinical practice, and facilities policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to deal with conflict resolution.
- Strong aptitude in human resource management.
- Ability to handle multiple demands simultaneously.
- Sound decision making and critical thinking skills.
- Proficient in use of computers, software, and other electronic systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be willing to float and flex as the site and department needs.

Atrium Health Neurology is an outpatient practice providing comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. In addition to General Neurology, our clinic offers specialized services in Epilepsy, Headache, and Cognitive Neurology.
Medical Assistants play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care by rooming patients, coordinating provider schedules, managing patient communications, and addressing clinical messages to support efficient clinic operations.

Pay Range:
$21.85 - $32.80Major Responsibilities:
- Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures, and maintains training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care.
- Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings (depression, suicide, falls, social drivers of health, etc.).
- Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
- Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking. Point of Care testing (POCT) per standing order/provider order. Completes Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved waived laboratory tests and practice-specific diagnostic testing in adherence to CLIA standards.
- Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
- Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
- Cross trained to perform duties that are relevant to specialty or clinic practice within the scope of the Medical Assistant.
- Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation.
- Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately. Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order, and areas are appropriately stocked.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Education
Greater Charlotte:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
IL/WI Divisions:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
Wake Forest:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.

$25.30 - $46.05Major Responsibilities:- Performs, evaluates, and monitors laboratory tests as authorized within established protocols, selecting and performing additional procedures when indicated. Monitors workflow and makes necessary adjustment to complete work in an appropriate time frame.
- Evaluates results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness. Follows prescribed policy in the reporting and notification of test results.
- Performs and documents calibration, maintenance and repair of instruments and equipment. Recognizes indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction; evaluates and implements appropriate corrections.
- Performs, documents and reviews quality control and quality assurance for improvement according to established protocol. Evaluates quality control results and takes corrective action when indicated.
- Ascertains that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. Collects specimens from newborn, pediatric, and adult patients according to established protocol.
- Provides general direction, training, competency review and technical l assistance to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomists, and support staff. Assists in the development of education and training protocols; instructs students, residents and new team members as assigned.
- Assists in improving the quality and efficiency of laboratory procedures, policies, and processes. Ensures compliance with all accrediting agency standards, supporting CAP Regulatory requirements in an acute setting.
- Performs internal and external proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples.
- Performs specialty testing in areas including transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation, and flow cytometry. Supports the disease specific accreditations of an institution by meeting turn- around time goals.
- Provides direct support and timely, accurate laboratory results for critical care departments such as the ED, ICU and OR during a high acuity patient event. This includes transfusion services, attending codes, performing testing on irretrievable samples, tissue grinding and gram stains, mass casualty procedures, and mass transfusion procedures.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. - Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice, follows all policies and procedures, and maintains training and competency based on area of specialty when providing patient care.
- Performs rooming/visit tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings (depression, suicide, falls, social drivers of health, etc.).
- Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
- Performs lab related duties such as venipuncture, specimen collection/labeling/packing, preparation of lab orders/requisitions, and results tracking. Point of Care testing (POCT) per standing order/provider order. Completes Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) approved waived laboratory tests and practice-specific diagnostic testing in adherence to CLIA standards.
- Administers medications and vaccines safely following the rights of medication administration.
- Performs other duties as assigned such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, safety/regulatory log completion, patient messaging, medication/supply ordering, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
- Demonstrates effective and timely communication, teamwork, and appropriate escalation.
- Maintains a clean work environment ensuring instruments and equipment are cleaned appropriately. Ensures equipment and supplies are in working order, and areas are appropriately stocked.
- May assist with training and onboarding of other teammates.
- May serve as a role champion or on a committee.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Greater Charlotte:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or may have completed structured military training which is clinical in nature per DD214 in lieu of a formal medical assistant program or EMT.
IL/WI Divisions:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
Wake Forest:
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Essential Functions.

Essential Functions
- Assists with all phases of pharmacy services while under the supervision of a pharmacist as required by state of practice and job duties.
- Answers phones and provides excellent customer service as appropriate to practice site.
- Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining appropriate records as required by regulation and policy.
- Utilizes pharmacy technology effectively to prepare medication orders for dispensing, performs calculations as necessary, and compounds medications for accurate compounding as appropriate to practice site, in accordance with state law, policies, procedures, and protocols.

This position is responsible for patient care in the emergency department as assigned under the medical direction of the base hospital EMS Medical Director. This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional paramedic practice. This position is accountable for the quality of patient services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Evaluates acuity level of patients and insures appropriate matching of patients care needs to unit and hospital resources. Demonstrates the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to their specific needs.
2. Performs basic patient care appropriately within scope of training: positioning, transportation, phlebotomy, ECGs, maintenance of spinal precautions. Administers or monitors medications when indicated and as ordered by a physician. Such medications are limited to those approved for administration and/or monitoring by a paramedic in the State of practice. Assists patient in transfer using proper body mechanics and transfer techniques. Starts peripheral intravenous lines, including external jugular lines, initiates infusion, and maintains and adjusts fluid administration per physician order.
3. Performs cardio-vascular monitoring and management within scope of training.
4. Performs airway management within scope of training and within state guidelines to include oxygen administration, tracheal suctioning, assisting with ventilation, positioning, end-tidal CO2 and pulse-ox monitoring.
5. Actively participates in the resuscitation of critical patients as assigned. Observes and monitors patients through the diagnostic phase of treatment.
6. Performs other duties as assigned based on competency and training.
7. Recognizes changes in patient status that requires notification of charge or primary nurse and physician. Keeps charge or primary nurse informed of patient status and current activities. Alerts responsible physician to changes in patient status.
8. Documents assessment and reassessments within unit guidelines on appropriate documentation forms. Documents the incorporation of assessment findings and appropriate standards statement to support desired Patient Outcomes. Documents patient progress toward outcomes and responses to interventions/therapeutic modalities example: Response to pain medication. Documents the discharge plan of care and services consulted during patient visit.
9. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Must possess a current and valid Paramedic certification or license within the state of practice and maintenance thereafter. Current BLS and ACLS certification is required. PALS is required if working in the Emergency Department or with Pediatric population. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on specialty of practice.
Moderate experience typically gained through 2-4 years relevant work experience OR 12-18 months in an educational program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
FP-C or CCT-P Certification if working in ICU, Burn or CVCU.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

$24.32 - $36.48 / hour
