Summary
The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, reconciling medications, collecting patient history, and facilitating patient flow. Medical Assistant Full time - Every other weekend included
The MA will be responsible for the coordination of direct patient care activities and providing clinical support to providers within one of our clinical practices.
Duties include:
- Check in patients, obtaining vital signs & medication reconciliation
- Patient medical history information
- Navigating electronic health record system (EPIC)
- Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians and will uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence.

- Or Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program, that includes hands on patient experience as part of the curriculum, required.

Baptist Health La Grange Paramedic Student Knowledge Program Application
Thank you for your interest in the Knowledge Program at Baptist Health LaGrange. We truly appreciate your enthusiasm for the program and your interest in Baptist Health. It is important that you take the time to read the following information before applying:
The Knowledge Program provides tuition dollars to healthcare students in order to assist them in obtaining a healthcare degree, followed by a commitment to join Baptist Health La Grange upon graduation. Knowledge Program monies are “forgiven” as the student meets specific tenure milestones.
The amount of funding provided depends on multiple factors including school, degree program, graduation date, career goals, and a demonstrated need for the funding. Current Baptist employees applying for this program must be in good standing with both performance and attendance to be considered. Generally, a one year work requirement for every $10,000 in Knowledge Program funding is required upon graduation.
*** Students must be accepted or actively enrolled in an applicable degree program, prior to graduation in the field of study, in order to be eligible to apply for this program. Individuals taking prerequisite classes are generally not yet eligible ***

- Dry mops, wet mops floors and vacuums carpeting.
- High dust vents, over bed lights and other items over shoulder height.
- Operates several types of vacuum cleaners and other miscellaneous cleaning tools.
- Expected at times to wear personal protection equipment to include rubber gloves, eye protection, gowns, booties, masks, and hair covers.
- Other duties as assigned such as performing alternate EVS aid responsibilities as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
- Prefer completion of High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Safely and properly lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs.
