The Medical Assistant supports the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care within Banner Health Urgent Care. This position is responsible for assisting healthcare providers with clinical procedures, patient assessments, and administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinic. The Medical Assistant must demonstrate flexibility and professionalism while providing compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent will be required to float to other Banner Health Urgent Care clinics within the surrounding area based on operational needs.

This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.
2. Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures which could include taking patients’ blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, as well as performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation and EKG’s. Acts as chaperon as needed. Uses universal blood and body fluid precautions at all times and personal protective equipment as needed. Responsible for prioritization of patient flow through clinical process.
3. Coordinates and manages patient care including pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling of patients for clinic, hospital and other ancillary medical treatments and tests. Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
4. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
6. Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.
8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Also interacts with physician’s offices in order to report, ask for or clarify information. Prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. Active Medical Assistant certification such as: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) with proof of current membership from American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with proof of current membership from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) with proof of current membership from National Health Career Association (NHA) (Test administered after 7/1/2017 only) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) with proof of current membership from National Certified Competency Testing (NCCT).
Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with office medical procedures and treatments and knowledge of insurance, managed care operations, EMR and scheduling software preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Processing team supports critical imaging and clinical technologies that help Banner Health providers deliver efficient, high-quality patient care. The team is responsible for approximately 40 enterprise applications, including imaging post-processing platforms, artificial intelligence solutions, and voice recognition applications. By partnering closely with clinical, operational, and technical teams, the Post-Processing team ensures these systems are reliable, secure, and optimized to support patient care across a wide range of service lines and specialties throughout the organization.
As a Senior IT Consultant on the Post-Processing team, no two days are exactly the same. One day may involve partnering with clinical stakeholders to improve workflows, evaluating new technologies, or leading an application upgrade, while another may focus on troubleshooting complex issues, coordinating with vendors, or implementing initiatives that enhance system performance and user experience. This is a remote position. The schedule is Monday through Friday on a daytime shift, with hours varying based on business needs. This role also includes participation in an on-call rotation. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a high-level strategic contributor with expertise in selected business or healthcare processes and is responsible for formulating system scope and objectives relative to the company’s requirements. Acts independently providing knowledge, guidance, research, and fact-finding expertise to define, design and modify specifications and processes of complex information systems. Responsible for establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications, overseeing planning, tactical execution, and integration of initiatives.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Translates emerging customer needs and technologies into actionable business terms and associated plans. Contributes to the prioritization of all enhancement requests or initiatives to all electronic channels. Assures that the proper business case has been provided and the solution fits with overall strategic direction.
2. Develops solutions by applying accepted processes and/or creates new approaches to leverage technology from abstract information. Reviews and consults on design and content of all digital projects to ensure consistency across electronic platforms, efficiency and lack of redundancy, appropriateness of statistical analysis, and relevance to business and strategic objectives.
3. Provides mentorship to junior team members in the areas of strategy, external research and benchmarking, best-practice analysis, business analysis, and ultimately implementation of electronic solutions to our customers. Supports end user customers and vendors by assembling request for information/proposal (RFI/RFP), return on investment (ROI) calculations, capital or operating budgets data or other high level strategic specifications and documents.
4. Establishes and manages an effective dashboard of metrics that communicates objectives of initiatives and the progress towards specific goals. Oversees the effective, correct, and consistent application of data analysis and decision making based on fact for all information feeds into the innovation process for respective areas. Promotes the use of data analysis and fact-based decision-making. Educates and influences stakeholders on the most effective use of electronic channel options from both a short-term and long-term perspective. Maintains a significant role in the creation of strategic technology plans.
5. Guides the design, implementation and maintenance of complex application and system specifications and processes. Participates and may lead taskforces to plan, implement, and coordinate facility activities to maximize information technology service quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. Identifies, investigates, tracks, and resolves complex project, system or application errors ensuring the solution is timely and of acceptable quality.
6. Designs and administers complex standards and policies regarding application and end user customer documentation. Ensures that department and company standards are implemented and consistently adhered to.
7. Provides high level expertise to the development of fully integrated testing scenarios. Ensures that the information systems across multiple levels and states and their relationships are considered and are part of the comprehensive testing plans.
8. Maintains current professional and technical knowledge relating to the healthcare industry by attending educational workshops/conferences, establishing personal networks, and/or maintaining relevant certification or licensure as business needs require.
9. Foresees and resolves customer issues and provide solutions that meet the needs of the organization. Resolves conflicting objectives and priorities to stay within budget guidelines. High level responsibility for selected information applications or systems. Performs work in a fast-paced multi-tasked environment where there may be conflicting priorities or tight deadlines. Participates in meetings, presentations, visioning sessions, strategic and planning sessions, implementation activities, and supports functions company-wide.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess strong knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and healthcare experience. Must also have progressive experience in a healthcare environment typically achieved in seven plus years.
Must demonstrate substantial knowledge of information technology, healthcare, and/or operations for an assigned specialty area. Needs significant proven leadership experience in large scale project planning, reporting, and budgeting. May need experience with specific IT process methodology depending on assigned areas of responsibility.
Requires exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences. Requires leadership skills with ability to lead, communicate, and interact across facilities and at various levels. Successful candidate will have skills and experience to recruit, mentor, motivate, evaluate, and retain staff.
As is typical in this industry, variable shifts and hours and carrying/responding to a pager may be required.

Estimated Pay Range:
$46.84 - $78.06 / hour

As a Operating Room Unit Aide for the surgical team at Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix, you will help impact patient care directly by providing a clean and risk free surgical environment. This position provides financial leadership and expertise to specific business entitles in order to ensure the achievement of financial goals and performance metrics. This position provides timely financial analysis and ensures consistency of accounting practices in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides leadership in the achievement of financial goals including revenue growth, operating margins, accounts receivable and expense management, and other operating efficiency measures. Ensures effective processes are in place for accurate charge capture and CDM management, timely billing and collection, and compliance with appropriate cost standards and principles. Identifies performance improvement opportunities through analysis of trends and variances.
2. Manages key financial, accounting, budgeting and reporting processes and systems ensuring compliance with existing company systems, fiscal policies and procedures, internal controls, and GAAP. Develops and implements other appropriate policies and procedures as necessary.
3. Works closely with operations management to provide financial information for use in planning, staffing, budgeting and other operational decision making. Establishes and reports financial performance metrics in conjunction with operations management.
4. Presents financial information and trends to stakeholders including internal committees, management and administration.
5. Oversees financial reporting to federal or state agencies and ensures compliance in all aspects of financial operations.
6. Directs personnel actions including recruiting, new hire actions, interviewing and selection of new staff, salary determinations, training, and personnel evaluations. Provides on-going financial education opportunities for staff and administration, as necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, related field or equivalent experience.
Requires a proficiency level typically achieved with five years prior work experience in healthcare finance. Requires in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, cost accounting, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies. Must have strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills to work with all levels of management and external stakeholders. The Banner Gateway Medical Surgical Unit, is a very busy 24-bed unit that specializes in care of oncology patients, from diagnosis, treatment, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation treatment, symptom management, palliative (supportive) care, clinical trials, and care of some stem cell patients. A high percentage of our patients have a diagnosis of leukemia, but we care for patients with all types of cancer. We are affiliated with MD Anderson Cancer Center and work closely with them to ensure our patients get the best cancer care possible. Many of our patients have extended stays to complete their course of treatment. This allows us to really get to know each patient and his or her family members and helps to form a therapeutic relationship/bond. Our nurses find this aspect of the job very rewarding.

The Medical Assistant’s role is unique in the sense that you will not only be rooming patients daily, but also will perform prior authorizations, patient recalls, directing patients appropriately, covering for other providers when their medical assistant are out on PTO or call off. Our dynamic and growing neuroscience practice, includes neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology and diagnostic testing. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.

Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures which could include taking patients’ blood pressure, documenting respiration and heart rate/pulse, taking temperature, as well as performing phlebotomies, ear irrigation and EKG’s. 3. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.

Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
6. Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.
8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Also interacts with physician’s offices in order to report, ask for or clarify information. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. POSITION SUMMARY

This position independently provides respiratory care, pulmonary plus cardiology diagnostic testing and advanced clinical monitoring techniques to patients. This position is a resource person and specialist who may provide assistance to physicians and other healthcare professionals in complex procedures in specialty areas. This position may provide leadership and coordination of services and direction to staff on an assigned shift.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1.Performs all basic modalities and advanced practice respiratory therapy, pulmonary plus cardiology diagnostic testing as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
2.Performs multiple access procedures, arterial and venous. May assist in FDPAC and IAPB insertion and associated invasive cardiac outputs/profile and non-invasive cardiac outputs as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
3.Applies and manages mechanical ventilators in collaboration with physician and/or licensed independent practitioners recommending adjustments to improve clinical condition, patient comfort, and to expedite the weaning process. The practitioner demonstrates expert clinical proficiency in traditional and non-traditional ventilation modalities as prescribed in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
4. Assembles, disassembles, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, cleans and performs adjustments in the application of durable medical equipment and circuitry used in delivery of care in accordance with established department/hospital policies and procedures.
5. Performs patient assessment and evaluates patient response to care provided, making recommendations to physicians/licensed independent practitioners regarding the plan of care, and appropriate use of respiratory therapy and modification of therapy as clinical condition changes. Documents care provided and all interventions in an accurate and complete manner.
6. Acts as a resource to therapists and other healthcare practitioners regarding patient status, equipment and operational issues. Participates in interdisciplinary rounding, making recommendations for changes in therapy dictated by the patient’s condition. Collaborates with patients, families and other health care professionals regarding the care provided, services available and problem identification and resolution.
7. Participates in ongoing monitoring of quality, appropriateness and effectiveness of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and the development of policy/procedures. Assists with training, orientation and continuing development of students, orientees and staff, and with in-service education, training programs and equipment evaluation recommendations.
8. May be assigned shift supervision responsibilities. May have operational responsibilities for supporting and facilitating business growth and process improvements. May coordinate oversight of quality and safety standards, assist in budget development, and provide operational resource management of staff, supplies, and equipment to ensure optimal productivity.
9. This position independently provides respiratory care, diagnostic testing and advanced clinical monitoring techniques to patients with respiratory and/or cardiac disorders to a diverse patient population. Serves as a resource person and may provide leadership during assigned shifts. Internal customers: All levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: Physicians and their office staff, payers, community agencies and regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or technical degree
Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). RRT required for all new hires to the position after October 1, 2015. Incumbents in the position as of October 1, 2015 must possess their RRT by October 1, 2017. A current license in state practiced as required by state law.
Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required as pertinent to the practice specialty.
In Home Care setting, must posses valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
In-depth knowledge of clinical techniques, applications and equipment as typically obtained through 3 years of clinical experience. Must possess highly effective human relation skills necessary to interface with patients, families, staff and other healthcare personnel. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Evaluates acuity level of patients and insures appropriate matching of patients care needs to unit and hospital resources. 2. Performs basic patient care appropriately within scope of training: positioning, transportation, phlebotomy, ECGs, maintenance of spinal precautions. Assists patient in transfer using proper body mechanics and transfer techniques. 4. Performs airway management within scope of training and within state guidelines to include oxygen administration, tracheal suctioning, assisting with ventilation, positioning, end-tidal CO2 and pulse-ox monitoring.
5. Actively participates in the resuscitation of critical patients as assigned. Observes and monitors patients through the diagnostic phase of treatment.
6. Performs other duties as assigned based on competency and training.
7. Recognizes changes in patient status that requires notification of charge or primary nurse and physician. Keeps charge or primary nurse informed of patient status and current activities. Alerts responsible physician to changes in patient status.
8. Documents assessment and reassessments within unit guidelines on appropriate documentation forms. Documents the incorporation of assessment findings and appropriate standards statement to support desired Patient Outcomes. Documents patient progress toward outcomes and responses to interventions/therapeutic modalities example: Response to pain medication. Documents the discharge plan of care and services consulted during patient visit.
9. Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Must possess a current and valid Paramedic certification or license within the state of practice and maintenance thereafter. Current BLS and ACLS certification is required. POSITION SUMMARY

After training in these advanced skills the ED Tech may perform these functions per state and facility guidelines on adult patients and pediatric patients twelve years of age and older upon direct delegation of the task.
2. Sets up, prepares patient and assists with patient exam and minor surgical or health procedures within scope of training such as, but not limited to: lumbar punctures; sterile instrument and field preparation, suturing lacerations, chest tube insertion, closed fracture reduction, gastric lavage, pelvic examinations, restraint application, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Applies orthopedic devices, to include pre-manufactured and plaster splints under physician direction.
3. Performs specimen collection, ensuring accuracy in identification and integrity by using appropriate techniques for all age criteria as required by Lab. Where state statute permits, performs point of care testing for blood glucose, hemoccult and gastroccult or other tests, and performs quality control checks on point of care equipment as required.
4. Provides communication and updates to RN, Physician or other providers related to perceived reactions or changes to patients’ condition. Accurately records information in the patient record, documents vital signs and procedures completed, as well as the equipment and techniques utilized.
5. Monitors supply stock levels and reports needs. Notifies housekeeping, maintenance, biomedical engineering, and others to ensure proper equipment and a safe environment is maintained. Maintains appropriate levels of stock in medication room, exam room bedside carts, and specialty carts. Assists with health unit coordination tasks and reception responsibilities as needed.
6. Attends department meetings and educational sessions; Assists in orienting and training of new ED Technicians.
7. Position receives general supervision from RN, APN, PA, or Physician and other appropriate licensed health professionals. Position uses problem solving skills and provides effective communication with patients, patient families, health care providers and ancillary departments within the organization to provide quality patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for communicating test results to patient. Acts as a resource to clinician in order to provide optimal patient care. May administer medications in accordance with established policies and procedures or as directed.
4. Provides clerical support with patient/client notifications and documentation to include but not limited to complete medical records including labs, authorizations, X-Rays, hospital records and any previous care pertaining to each patient visit. Provides complete and accurate information necessary for billing related to the patient encounter in a timely fashion.
5. Maintains a clean, functional environment including cleaning and disinfection of equipment, exam rooms and storage areas. Disinfects equipment and instruments using appropriate solutions following sterilization procedures. Follows manufacturer's recommendations and OSHA guidelines in handling of hazardous substances. Performs basic maintenance of equipment and coordinates needed maintenance for prompt repairs.
6. Orders supplies as directed, stocks patient care areas. Medication ordering and tasks related to all medications (e.g. expired medications/equipment and recalls).
7. Develops and maintains effective communication mechanism with all external and internal customers. Exemplifies service orientation and the team concept in all contacts.
8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.
9. This position works under the direct supervision of the providers. This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Active Medical Assistant Certification is required. Certification or additional training must meet the requirements for Meaningful use. BLS certification required. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, Banner Home Care/Hospice or Boswell Skilled Nursing Facility must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility. Employees working in the Banner McKee Senior Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit must possess an Colorado Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working in any Banner Staffing (BSS) Behavioral Health role in Arizona must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
Estimated Pay Range:
$36.67 - $61.11 / hour
