*Responsibilities*
* Evaluate and treat patients presenting to the Emergency Department with a broad range of medical conditions and injuries.
* Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and medical assessments.
* Diagnose acute and complex medical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans.
* Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other diagnostic studies.
* Perform emergency procedures and interventions within the physician's scope of practice.
* Provide stabilization and management of critically ill or injured patients.
* Recognize and respond rapidly to life-threatening conditions and medical emergencies.
* Consult with specialists and coordinate admissions, transfers, and appropriate follow-up care.
* Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, nurses, and other clinical staff as appropriate.
* Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up recommendations.
* Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation.
* Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and departmental initiatives.
* Maintain current knowledge of emergency medicine standards, treatments, and best practices.
*Qualifications*
* MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
* Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine preferred.
* Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.
* Current DEA registration.
* BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certification preferred or required based on facility requirements.
* Emergency Medicine experience preferred.
* Strong clinical judgment, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
