Job Description:
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant provides assistance to the occupational therapist in developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment, procedures, and related activities for direct patient care.
Join our pediatric behavioral health teamand make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and adolescents. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work alongside Occupational Therapists and an interdisciplinary care team to support patients experiencing behavioral, emotional, developmental, and mental health challenges. In this role, you'll help implement individualized treatment plans that promote emotional regulation, coping skills, sensory processing, daily living skills, and functional independence. This is a unique opportunity to combine pediatric rehabilitation and behavioral health while helping children thrive at home, in school, and in their communities.
Essential Functions
- Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service standards.
- Competent Services: Provides skilled occupational therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups. Conducts treatments according to professional standards (AOTA).
- Productivity Standards: Meets established productivity standards for the department or service line.
- Documentation and Billing: Keeps thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies. Completes patient billing accurately and promptly.
- Communication: Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals. Ensures smooth operations and optimal use of rehabilitation services. Communicates patient assessments, progress, and concerns with the occupational therapist.
- Continuing Education: Participates in and promotes continuing education opportunities for self and staff, seeking new learning opportunities according to licensure requirements.
- Quality Improvement: Engages in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use, improving clinical outcomes, patient access, patient experience and all aspects of the Intermountain Operating Model. Participates in utilization review audits.
- Program Development and Marketing: Contributes to program development and marketing strategies to grow the occupational therapy program to achieve department goals.

Qualifications
- Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the states where you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting.
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Performs MRI procedures which are complex and elaborate to assist the physician in the diagnosis of injury and/or disease. Performs the duties and responsibilities within the scope of an MRI Technologist - Level I, as defined within the job description.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided:
MD: No state license is required
OH: No state license is required
PA: No state license is required
WV: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) License through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board.
2. Registered through American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)in MRI OR MRI certification throughAmerican Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
3. Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
4. State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) year experience as an MRI Technologist (apprentice experience not applicable).

1. Prepares and explains exams to patients
2. Performs all exams that pertain to specialty areas.

4. Maintains proper magnetic field safety requirements as required by manufacturer.
5. Assists physician during specialty exam.
6. Process exams and make available on PACS.
7. Demonstrates appropriate patient/family/self-safety practices
8. Delegates and evaluates the delivery of care given by peers, other members of the health care team and ancillary staff.
9. Participates in self-evaluation and develops a plan for professional development based on personal/unit goals/strategic plans.
10. Upon completion of exam, all paperwork is finished that deals with patient.
11. Participates in the education/oversight of orientees, ancillary staff, and students in collaboration with the preceptor, manager, and/or designated education coordinator.
12. Active on selected committees for the purpose of exchanging information and participating in problem solving methods.
13. Arranges own knowledge base and development by attending formal and/or informal educational activities.
14. Assists in identifying problems for investigation, collecting data for research projects and applying current concepts to patient care.

The MRI Clinical Ladder is a system-wide clinical advancement program to enhance professional development, provide a reward system for quality clinical performance, promote quality respiratory care, and improve job satisfaction for respiratory therapists.

Level 1
·No experience required.
·All MRI technologists with less than 12 months of experience enter at Level one.

As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. 1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
2. Identifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.
- Analyzes and interprets the assessment data to identify desired patient outcomes/goals.

Regardless of patient location, The Banner telehealth team responds to requests for help from bedside care teams, monitors for adverse trends and intervenes before adverse trends become adverse outcomes, monitors and supports "best practice" compliance and measures clinical outcomes.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses and coordinates behavioral health care to ensure the most appropriate level of care in accordance with all state and federal regulations as well as company policies and procedures. This position provides crisis assessment and support to patients and family members who are experiencing serious psychological or psychoactive substance abuse disorders. This position communicates effectively with multidisciplinary teams within organization and outside agencies.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs emergent/non-emergent behavioral health assessment of mental health and psychoactive substance abuse patients. Makes recommendations regarding patient’s level of care needs and resources. Coordinates inpatient and outpatient admissions or alternate level of care facilities. Provides crisis stabilization therapy or intervention therapy skills during critically changing behavioral situations. Coordination with the patient’s family, attending physician, or other hospitals and agencies may be required.
2. Conducts assessments in collaboration with other healthcare professionals as necessary to develop clinically safe patient dispositions according to state regulations.
3. Documents complete, accurate and timely in the medical record. Depending on assignment, incumbents with a current RN License may take Doctor's orders.
4. Conducts initial utilization review by obtaining treatment authorizations as appropriate with representatives of managed care or other necessary agencies/individuals. Documents accurately and coordinates with patient financial services and payers regarding treatment authorized.
5. Identifies the full spectrum of mental health disorders as listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) and is knowledgeable of all state and federal protocols that pertain to the treatment/transfer of psychiatric patients.
6. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
7. Responds within hospital bylaws to requests for assessment and consultations within organization. Provides emergency interventions and makes disposition recommendations to medical staff.
8. May be accountable for external patient placement, advocacy assistance and support to patients and families. Collaborates with all members of the healthcare team to develop, manage and communicate discharge plans.
9. This position is responsible for behavioral health assessments within organization. Internal customers: all levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. External customers: physicians, payers, community agencies, provider networks and regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a Master’s degree in counseling, behavioral health, or a related human services field, or education requirement as mandated by the state board in order to obtain licensure in field of specialty.
Requires one of the following licenses: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC), Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor (LISAC)Marriage and Family Counseling (LCMFT) or MA-Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).
Requires BLS.
Requires a proficiency level typically achieved with 2 years clinical experience. Requires extensive knowledge in the areas of psychotherapy, counseling or clinical social work. Must have a working knowledge of hospital operations, medical/nursing staff procedures, hospital and community resources. Excellent organizational, human relations, and communication skills are required to maintain good rapport and effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Banner Registry and Travel positions require a minimum of one-year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Crisis & Intake Therapist in the specialty area.

Additional Job Description:
This full-time Clinical Pharmacy Float position will provide flexible coverage across both the adult Medicine Specialist services and the adult Hospitalist/Surgical services. Under the direction of a Sports Medicine Physician, the Athletic Trainer will assist in evaluation and treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries and sports related injuries.

Performs needed assessment, care and treatment planning for patient population.

1. Performs radiation therapy treatments by following and verifying referring providers’ orders. Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical care as normally obtained through an Associate degree in radiation oncology or related field.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking a Pediatric Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) on a PRN basis to provide feeding therapy, swallowing therapy, dysphagia management, speech-language services, and pediatric rehabilitation for infants, children, and adolescents across inpatient and outpatient settings.

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.
- Provides basic patient education on the performance of tasks, skills, treatment and self-care. Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.

Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license in states where you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Basic Computer skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting.
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
