- Observes, reports, and documents signs and symptoms or changes in patient behavior to charge nurse.
- Interacts with patients therapeutically.
- Assists, initiates, and participates in social and recreational activities, group therapy, patient teaching groups, and other group activities.
- Uses CPI techniques appropriately.
- Makes rounds on assigned patients at least every half hour during shift.
- Demonstrates flexibility in changing workload.

Job Description:
The Special Education Supervisor is the on-site leader responsible for leading a team of Special Education Teachers. The Special Education supervisor ensures patient centered education is appropriately provided on an individual and group level. Provides continuous training and education on CDE standards, curriculum implementation, IEP compliance, and evaluation procedures. Oversees all development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), Evaluations, and academic testing. Provides classroom skills assessment, academic skills evaluation, educational programming and transition planning to day treatment patients. Provides educational counseling services and recommendations to parents regarding the educational needs of their children. Serves as liaison to patient's school district coordinator. Participates, along with clinical staff, parents, patient and receiving school personnel, in transition planning to a patient's community-based school at discharge from treatment.
Mount Saint Vincent is seeking a Special Education Supervisor to lead a dedicated team of Special Education Teachers serving children with complex educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. In this role, you'll join the Education Leadership Team and have the opportunity to coach educators, partner with multidisciplinary teams, strengthen instructional practicesPosting Specifics Pay Rate:Based on Experience Shift Details:Full-time (40 hrs/wk).Day Shift (Monday - Friday) -This is a patient facing, in-person role.
Location:Early Learning Center at Mount St. Vincent Home (Denver area) Additional Details:Highly flexible, adaptable, and organized, with strong group management skills. Ability to effectively support individuals with complex behaviors and provide guidance and support to professionals who are new to the field of Special Education.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree obtained from an accredited institution (degree will be verified)
- Current Colorado teaching licensure
- Special education endorsements (per Colorado licensure)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the educational and curriculum processes for children with emotional and behavioral needs.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated teaching ability
- Demonstrated effective classroom management skills
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Positive driving motor vehicle (DMV) record, proof of current automobile insurance coverage, and a copy of a valid driver's license
- Basic Life Support and First Aid within 90 days of employment
- Ability to adjust work schedule based on business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in special education obtained from an accredited institution. Education is verified.
- Five years paid experience in a teaching position; at least three in special education
- Demonstrated experience in an education and/or behavioral health setting
- Knowledge of current state and federal education-related legislation
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
Essential Functions
- Together with Education Manager, ensures school program adheres to the Colorado Department of Education and State Licensing requirements and guidelines.
- Leads a team of Special Education Teachers and Special Services (Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathologist, reading interventionist), including oversight of hiring, onboarding, training, retention, and evaluation of performance. May be required to cover in the classroom when teachers are absent or based on business need.
- Expertly utilizes trauma-informed care to establish and maintain strong relationships with patients, effectively interpret behavior, and appropriately respond to meet the patient’s needs.
- Ensures that educational services are delivered in a culturally sensitive manner and that all federal, state, and local educational requirements are met (including specialized instruction in accordance with Individual Education Plans).
- Responsible for setting up, coordinating, and overseeing systems such as Individual Education Plan (IEP) record system, data tracking, student files, and service delivery for students with disabilities.
- Serves as the Curriculum Coordinator to ensure compliance with the Colorado Department of Education Office of Facility School curriculums
- Collaborates with public and private educational systems to obtain and communicate educational information and to arrange appropriate educational services and transition plans.
- Satisfies all Intermountain Health requirements. Maintains constant compliance with appropriate (on and off-site) school accreditation standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Work closely with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support pharmaceutical care activities, complete pharmacy billing activities, record keeping, reporting, inventory management, and arrange appropriate medication delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.

Minimal experience, typically gained through 0-2 years relevant work experience. Ability to attend and successfully complete 160 hours of on the job training required. Strong customer service focus, superior problem-solving abilities. Ability to complete moderate to difficult mathematical calculations using a hand-held calculator is required.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides leadership in specialty area of clinical nutrition, establishes practice standards and serves as a mentor to educate colleagues in the specialty nutrition area. This position manages a complex caseload of patients by providing comprehensive nutritional assessments and nutrition-focused physical exams, developing and managing all aspects of appropriate nutrition care plans, and monitoring outcomes of plans. Provides patient and family nutrition counseling and education. Develops Nutrition Standards of Practice and Education material in collaboration with peers. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary Health Care team providing input and establishing patient care policies, programs, quality improvement activities and provides in-service education in areas of expertise.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients' nutritional needs, to include nutrition-focused physical exams as appropriate, with at least 50% of patient case load in designated specialty area. Obtains timely and appropriate data and analyzes/interprets data based on evidence-based standards and established practice guidelines.
2. Demonstrates and maintains competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols and oral nutrition management standard of practice as demonstrated by successful completion of initial competency exams and ongoing evaluation.
3. Writes orders to initiate and manage the nutrition care and of all assigned patients including those receiving nutrition support (parenteral and enteral nutrition) per protocols.
4. Evaluates effectiveness of the care plan and communicates effectively to the other members of the healthcare team to provide optimal nutrition outcomes. Provides pertinent information in the medical records, patient plans of care and/or clinical pathways while meeting requirements of regulatory agencies (i.e. Joint Commission, CMS, State and Local Agencies).
5. Provides nutrition education to patients, families, staff and other health care team professionals through the development of effective teaching materials and in-service programs; Evaluates patient and or family response to education.
6. Provides leadership in area of practice, establishing proper patient care procedures and acts as liaison with nursing areas. Establishes and monitors policies and procedures in area of expertise and communicates areas of concern that impact patient care in this area. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess knowledge of nutrition and dietetics demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent coursework. Must be a Registered Dietitian based on academic and professional requirements as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Effective January 1, 2024, CDR requires a minimum of Master's degree to be eligible to take the registration examination. Must hold current registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and be able to maintain ongoing registration while providing verification of registration annually. Maintains current licensure as required by State law.

Communication with clinic staff, providers, Pharmacists, and insurance companies is essential to ensure completed peer reviews, relay updated medical and specialty drug policies, and appeals. They work closely with the Hospital and Provider Denial Management Teams to review monthly denials and assess opportunities for retro-active authorizations and determine root cause analysis. - Interpret medical records to determine initial and disease progression to prove medical necessity for ordered services and complete on-line clinical requests for advanced authorization.
- Manage Atrium Health preferred drug list (chemotherapy/immunotherapy/supportive drugs) with payors and correlate changes with oncology pharmacy.
- Manage Atrium Health drug formulary changes with authorization updates with payors.
- Review laboratory panels for Bone Marrow Biopsies to authorize Molecular Lab Studies, diagnosis specific.
- Review and address monthly denials for Chemotherapy Drugs, Molecular Labs and surgeries with payors and Atrium Health Denial Management Teams (HBO/PBO).

This fast paced 50 bed unit specializes in Cardiac Telemetry; caring for patients who have a variety of complex cardiac diagnosis such as COPD, CHF, A Fib. The unit also cares for post open heart surgical patients, and some post cardiac interventional procedures (cardiac cath, pacemakers). The unit also has a designated area for observation patients.
We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association and ACLS within 6 months of hire

5. Accurately transcribes physicians’ orders according to hospital policy. Alerts nursing staff of new or urgent orders promptly
6. Completes clerical work on admissions, transfers, discharges and prepares discharge charts to be taken to the Health Information Department
7. Maintains charts during all phases of a patient’s hospital stay, including replenishing forms.
8. Forwards physician’s order sheet to pharmacy noting needed medications
9. Completes orders accurately and forwards to departments via order communications, (Lab, X-ray, Respiratory Therapy, Physical Therapy, Dietary and Maintenance) and with requisitions as needed.
10. Answers incoming telephone calls in a courteous professional manner identifying the unit and self
11. Assists with the admission of new patients.
12. Obtains needed supplies from SPD, Purchasing, Pharmacy, lab and Linen as needed; assists in location of equipment and supplies
13. Serves as the communication center for the nursing unit by answering telephones, initiating calls and relaying communications. Answers telephones promptly and courteously and identifying self by name and title
14. Assists with orientation of new personnel as assigned, regarding: monitors, unit protocols, telemetry, stock levels and unit charges.
15. Assists in quality assurance projects concerning telemetry and cardiac monitoring.

3A is a 24 bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) that serves patients with medically complex cardiac needs. This unit sees a variety of cardiac related diagnosis, cardiac drips, pre/post procedures including TAVR recovery and recovery of open hearts post ICU downgrade, may also see pulmonary, renal and vascular patients. The vast majority of the patients in the PCU require continuous cardiac monitoring. Ratio flex between 1:4-5, however most of the time ratios are 1:4. The Progressive Care Unit at Banner Estrella Medical Center is currently seeking experienced PCU Nurses, but at this time we are accepting application for those that have Telemetry, ICU, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, Medical/Surgical or any other acute or critical care background. This is a full-time night shift, working three 12 hour shifts per week, 7:00pm to 7:30am, with rotating weekends/holidays. Determines what is necessary for securing approval and/or authorization for continued therapy visits and if the physician's office needs to call the insurer for a new pre-certification. Completes the necessary steps outlined by the insurer to secure the visits or procedures requested by the therapist.
Orders necessary patient care or front office supplies/items through Workday when necessary and emails Director or designated Supervisor/Manager what items were ordered and the purchase requisition number.
Reviews insurance information in Epic and ensures insurance benefits have been checked.
Assists with ongoing Performance Improvement initiatives which may include, but not limited to: Temperature readings of freezer and hydrocollator, patient wait times for evaluations, pool chemical readings.
May be expected to provide coverage at alternate locations to help meet critical staffing level needs, as requested by management.
Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development.
