Serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the medical facility. This job is intended for use by positions employed by an outpatient facility. Greets and checks-in patients, verifies information, schedules appointments, and updates Electronic Health record (EHR). Facilitates intake procedures such as completion of healthcare and insurance forms and collecting payments for services. Gains confidence and cooperation from the patient, their family/support group, and other healthcare providers through competent job performance and effective communication. Adheres to all organizational, local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. May also be responsible for performing specific tasks and/or orient other staff to the department.Job Description:
These Principal Accountabilities, Requirements and Qualifications are not exhaustive, but are merely the most descriptive of the current job. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
PATIENT SERVICES:
• Checks-in patients and assures ensures all necessary authorizations are obtained prior to patient visits.
• Obtains patients medical history and insurance information to complete forms for processing purposes.
• Communicates with patients in a clear and professional manner to alleviate confusion and expedite processes.
• Ensures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established departmental time frames.
CLERICAL:
• Performs general clerical tasks, such as answering phones and greeting customers and patients on a daily basis.
• Prepares and completes accurate, job related documentation, including collecting, updating, and maintaining patient medical and insurance information.
SAFETY:
• Maintains a clean, neat, and safe working environment, including organizing files and keeping desks free of loose papers and clutter.
COMPLIANCE:
• Performs job responsibilities in compliance with department standards, policies, and procedures, as well as local, state and federal regulatory agencies to deliver the highest level of service.
• Maintains strictest confidence of all patient protected health information (PHI) and protects all PHI from accidental, intentional, or inappropriate disclosure.
EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
1 year of recent relevant experience.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, as well as patient billing.
Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Possess written and verbal communications skills to communicate with fellow team members, supervisors, patients, and other hospital personnel.
Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).

$20.80 - $31.20The Certified Nursing Assistant performs duties necessary to provide the best in patient care, but not to the extent requiring service and judgment of a registered or licensed nurse. This individual provides and maintains a clean, safe and quiet environment in support of patient comfort and contentment. The CNA promotes the practice of family-centered care. He/she provides supportive care to patients in all units with adequate supervision and cross training. Job Description:
The Respiratory Therapy Assistant provides support to the licensed Respiratory Therapist with various duties (e.g., ordering, stocking, assembly and cleaning of respiratory supplies and equipment necessary for patient care). The incumbent follows appropriate procedures for obtaining, tracking, returning, cleaning, and disposing of equipment and supplies. This position conducts other assigned tasks by the licensed Respiratory Therapist in keeping with the Respiratory Therapy Assistant's defined duties.

Essential Functions
- Assists professional staff with clinical services, maintains an orderly work area, and performs clerical duties.
- Inventories and requisitions supplies and equipment. Maintains daily, monthly, and annual cleaning schedules and documents appropriately.
- Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potential areas for improvement, including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff and takes appropriate action. Participates in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback.
- Care sites may add transport as an additional responsibility in the department-specific addendum. "Transports patients to and from treatment areas as needed."
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need. See the job description for the blood gas technician or EKG technician.
- Data Outcomes: Performs low acuity data reviews. Data entry and extraction.
- Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Discharges: Review patient chart for DME insurance coverage. Presents patient choice information and documents patient choice. Assembles all regulatory required documentation or forms for DME. Review DME discharge documents with the Respiratory Therapist prior to faxing them to the DME company. Coordinate calls and additional information with the DME company in preparation for patient discharge with DME. Performs follow-up calls to patients after discharge to ensure a smooth transition (e.g., date/time oxygen was delivered by the vendor to the patient at home).
- Blood Gas: (See blood gas Technician Job description) Performs arterial blood gas punctures and running of samples as applicable to the facility. Performs equipment maintenance and quality control per defined processes and schedules.
- EKGs: (EKG Technician Job description) Performs EKGs as applicable to the facility.
- Assists and coordinates with the Respiratory Therapy/Pulmonary Disease Navigator in arranging appointments (e.g., follow-up clinic and physician appointments, community outreach services).
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma as required by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Preferred Qualifications:

Physical Requirements

- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, and medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize a full range of movement, including bending to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk to obtain and distribute supplies and equipment. This includes pushing and pulling portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms that are full of equipment, power cords, etc.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice. Compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

What you will do:
- The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible to collaborate with a team of Physical Therapists to manage a caseload of patients requiring home-based therapy, primarily post-acute or subacute.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes/provides physical therapy services in the home to assist the patient in achieving his/her optimal level of functioning.
- Evaluates and treats individuals with functional deficits secondary to neurologic, orthopedic and medical conditions.
- Care for one patient at a time.

- NYS PTA Licensure
- Minimum one year of experience working with adult and/or geriatric population as a PTA

Pay Range: $29.53 - $38.22 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

This job works under direct on-premises supervision of a licensed physical or occupational therapist and according to detailed instructions, competency completion, policies and procedures, provides therapeutic modality treatments as assigned, prepares therapy areas and patients for treatments, and transports patients by use of wheelchairs and stretchers. Job Duties
Prepares and maintains work area for treatment including ordering of supplies/linen and pharmaceuticals.
Orients and mentors new staff in needs of assigned area.
Monitors and assists in patient-care as specifically instructed by the therapist according to their competencies.
Assists with generalized office and front desk procedures.
Transports patients to and from department or room via wheelchair or stretcher as directed by professional staff in a safe and courteous manner.
Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
Performs other related duties as required.

Conduct patient treatments as assigned or directed by a Physical Therapist.
Required Qualifications: Inpatient Physical Therapy Assistant - casual/PRN
Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant school required.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal required.
Strong team orientation required.
Strong computer and office equipment skills required.
Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Nebraska required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon completion of department orientation.
