Position Summary
The Dietary Aide III is a collaborative opportunity on our Nutrition Services team. In this role, you will ensure MultiCare patients, families and visitors have the best possible nutritional health care experiences.
Responsibilities:
- You will process meal orders and monitor diet orders for appropriate menu modifications
- You will maintain accuracy between patient trays, visiting patients, delivery, and pick-up of patient meal trays
- You will collaborate with a team of Nursing staff, Doctors, Clinical Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians, and other department staff to provide optimal nutrition care for patients
- You will engage in a variety of consistent and routine functions with excellent customer service
- You will utilize an understanding of special dietary needs
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Two-year degree in Nutrition preferred
- Current Washington State Food Handlers Card
- Minimum six (6) months experience in a customer service oriented position preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $21.43 - $32.60 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. Job Description:
This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. This position is responsible for the care of patients as well as the development of effective, professional relationships within the multidisciplinary team.
This is a PRN (as needed, zero budgeted hours) pharmacist position that will cover in the Central pharmacy and the IV room for pharmacists that are taking time off, LOA, sick calls, etc. This position is primarily responsible for operational pharmacy tasks like dose preparation/verification, drug distribution, etc. The hours and shifts will vary depending on the coverage needs but may include day, swing, or overnight shifts and all days of the week Sunday through Saturday including potential holidays. Shifts are typically 10 hours.
Essential Functions
- Reviews patients' medication order for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness of drug therapy, and drug- drug interaction. Makes appropriate evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use. Ensures safe, appropriate, cost-effective therapies and accurately dispenses medications.
- Oversees and/or participates in assuring appropriate medications are prepared and delivered timely to care areas and are stored both securely and appropriate for both stability and effective workflow.
- Provides counseling to patients and promotes quality medication education and adherence. Ensures patient is well informed, treated with respect, and receives the highest level of professional service.
- Completes all regulatory and compliance training and ensures documentation of regulatory requirements is clear and complete. Is knowledgeable and compliant with state and federal laws, regulations, pharmacy policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
- Supervises and directs activities of interns, technicians, and support personnel as required. Provides medication related clinical consultation and clarification to other health professionals.
- Takes the initiative to solve problems including, but not limited to, equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing issues, and extraordinary patient care concerns.
- Identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff and takes appropriate actions. Participates in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback
- Supports clinic or hospital and system directives, including clinical, compliance, business operations, standardization, and customer service.

Your Job:
This is a Full time Day Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) role.
The RRT is responsible for a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures including ABG, PFT’s, and various forms of ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy and airway maintenance. You will be expected to be proficient with the respiratory assessment and respiratory treatment of both adults and neonates. These procedures are performed under the indirect supervision of the department’s medical director, according to departmental policies and procedures. The RRT must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, understanding and ability to care for patients of all age groups; and be sensitive to the diverse and unique needs of patients based on age, sex, race and culture.
Your Job Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Current Basic Life Support certification required
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire
• Currently licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.
Your Job Responsibilities:
• Performs respiratory therapeutics to include oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures to include arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation to include a bedside respiratory physical assessment, patient interview and a review of patient’s medical record.
• Perform appropriate actions using critical thinking skills.
• Must be able to interpret the CXR, ABG, and PFT’s when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots all cardiopulmonary equipment such as artificial airways, ventilators, oxygen analyzers, oxygen delivery devices and blood gas analyzers.
• Participates in tasks related to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs required cleaning and maintenance of all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Utilizes appropriate customer scripting as evidenced by observation and improved patient satisfaction.

- Escorts patients to exam/treatment room; takes and records vital signs; records medical history according to charting criteria; prepares patient for physician exams; evaluates patients to maximize patient flow and minimize patient wait time; completes all documentation and paperwork.
- Performs procedures and diagnostic testing based on patient evaluation, following physician orders and established guidelines, policies and procedures. Sets up monitoring, recording and related equipment used during procedures. Assists with procedures providing appropriate support and instruction for the patient.
- Assists electrophysiologist during procedures (i.e. tilt studies) in the clinic. Performs initial ECG interpretation and communication with physician regarding test results.
- Interviews patients routinely and during symptomatic events for the purpose of detecting sub-clinical pacemaker failure and correlating symptoms with ECG findings. Provides education and follow-up to patients with regard to the disease process and pre / post-surgical management. Collaborates with physicians and health care team members in planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care.
- Performs and assesses transtelephonic ECGs on patients, instructing them on the test procedure to ensure proper transmission and quality data.
- Performs independent interrogation of implanted devices and prepares reports for electrophysiologist. Notifies physician and/or registered nurse of device malfunction and dysrhythmias per protocol.
- Documents patient evaluation, procedures, medications, refills and relevant information according to established guidelines.
- Provides guidance to patients regarding health problems, symptoms, or concerns. Triages patient calls utilizing interpretive skills, and initiates interventions in an assistive capacity under the supervision of a physician or nurse. Coordinates care with outside agencies including, but not limited to: hospitals, pharmacies, extended care facilities, and insurance companies.
- Coordinates clerical activities of the pacemaker clinic, including patient registration, reminders and follow up.
- Performs initial troubleshooting on equipment. Recognizes mechanical or technical abnormalities and uses established protocols in solving the problem. Performs calibration, cleaning and quality assurance measures on equipment.
Requirements:
- High School Education completed
- 3 years of experience in cardiology and/or electrophysiology, patient evaluation, performing or assisting with cardiology and/or electrophysiology related procedures and diagnostic tests (ECG, tilt studies, interrogation of implanted devices), and knowledge of cardiac medications and medication therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.

The Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology is seeking a full time BC/BE Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist. The successful candidate will be an energetic and collaborative individual who is committed to exemplary patient care, quality and safety, patient experience and educational excellence. Our Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Division includes three experienced pediatric hematologists, oncologists and a dedicated nurse specialist. Our pediatric hematology oncology practice includes very active outpatient and inpatient services. The physician will collaborate with our multidisciplinary team which includes specialized nursing, pediatric surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, radiation oncology, pediatric neurology, pediatric psychology, interventional radiology, pediatric procedural sedation, pediatric anesthesiology, and child life specialists. We are an active member in good standing with Children’s Oncology Group with most of the Phase II and Phase III COG sponsored clinical trials opened and have good clinical data research associate support. While we will consider junior faculty, mid-career physicians with an interest in or additional training in neuro-oncology are preferred.Job Duties:
- Hematology services include diagnosis and management of all primary hematological disorders including sickle cell disease, bleeding disorders, anemia, and thrombotic disorders.
- Oncology services include expertise in treating leukemia, lymphoma, solid tumors and an expanding neuro-oncology service. Our program includes good standing membership in the Children’s Oncology Group and offers clinical trials for the majority of pediatric cancers. We are part of NCI funded National Community Oncology research program through our adult oncology program, and we provide access to treatment for adolescents and young adults.
- Geisinger Janet Weis children’s Hospital, Danville Department of Pediatrics have set up multiple satellite clinics across central Pennsylvania and this position also incorporates seeing patients across multiple clinics in Northeast Pennsylvania and with the role for expanding out footprints in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center Wilkes Barre.
- Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital has developed a bidirectional and multidimensional affiliation with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This highly collaborative and productive relationship allows us to care for complex pediatric oncology patients here at our children’s hospital - keeping families close to home during very difficult times. In addition, the affiliation allows our division rapid access to CHOP’s world-renowned quaternary capabilities such as Blood and Marrow Transplant, Proton Therapy and CAR T-Cell Therapy.
Janet Weis Children’s Hospital (JWCH) is located on Geisinger’s Danville campus and is the region’s only dedicated 5-floor, 91 bed children's hospital with a highly successful hospitalist service and a 14 bed pediatric intensive care unit staffed with 24/7 in-house attending coverage. Children requiring non-PICU admission for hematologic or oncologic disorders are admitted to the pediatric hematology-oncology service. JWCH’s team of medical and surgical specialists provide care in over 30 pediatric specialties, including a 41-bed Level IV NICU and 14 bed Level I PICU.
The Department of Pediatrics provides the full range of inpatient medical and surgical subspecialty services, including pediatric hospitalists, critical care, neurology, nephrology, gastroenterology, cardiology, genetics, infectious disease, and the full spectrum of pediatric surgical subspecialties. We have active outpatient services including outreach clinics in general and subspecialty pediatrics. The successful applicant will participate in, and contribute to, the department’s established clinical and scholarly activities.
Teaching and mentorship responsibilities include medical students from several affiliated institutions, and residents in our fully accredited categorical Pediatric and Internal Medicine/Pediatric residency programs. An academic teaching appointment is available through Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Many resources and opportunities exist to conduct clinical and translational research and within the Genomic Medicine Institute.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or New Hampshire, as appropriate. A bachelor’s degree in nursing is strongly preferred, and candidates with an associate degree must complete a BSN within 4 years. Completion of the Oncology Nurse Residency Program (ONRP) or 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse. Ambulatory and/or oncology experience preferred. 6. Complete and document nutrition assessments on high-risk patients according to standards of care; including but not limited to: appropriateness of diet to diagnosis, adequacy of current tube feeding, infant formula, or parenteral nutrition orders; assessment of laboratory values, drug-nutrient interactions, medical history, current nutritional needs, nutrition education needs, care plan development and writing orders in the electronic medical record when nutrition intervention is needed for a patient.
7. The Registered and Licensed Dietitians (RD/LD) at WVUH have been granted Order Writing Privileges (with physician co-signature) which have been approved and established by the WVUH Medical Executive Committee and the WVUH Board of Directors.These privileges may be utilized whenever the physician orders the “MNT Protocol”.This allows the registered dietitian (RD/LD) to order Medical Nutrition Therapies within their scope of practice as defined by the American Dietetic Association and West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians (WBOLD).
8. The RD is considered qualified with current registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, current licensure through the WVBOLD, and clinical competency as verified initially and through the annual performance appraisal process. (See RD order writing privileges policy for specific guidelines.)
9. Complete and document follow-up to assessments and consults according to standards.
10. Attend local or national meetings/conferences specifically those that physicians request dietitian attendance or those meetings/conferences required to maintain accreditation of hospital programs or foster partnership with other facilities.
11. If applicable, provides guidance and supervise daily activities of nutritional therapy support team, i.e. difficult or unusual diet orders, tube feeding calculations, infant formula calculations. Document potential/actual errors or harmful interactions with patients or staff committed by NCA’s on assigned units where appropriate (i.e. personnel file, medical record, etc.)Provide intervention and participate in disciplinary actions as appropriate.

13. Act on any patient food complaints, provide alternative selections and/or arrangements. Follow-up with appropriate managers on food quality issues.
14. Review and update clinical rotation assignments annually to reflect changes in practice and feedback from previous interns, unless determined by student's university. Develop and teach classes regarding area of specialization to the interns (i.e. renal nutrition, oncology, nutrition support, etc.).
15. Monitor interns, making certain that they are functioning to standards before leaving unsupervised. Review and co-sign all intern documentation in the medical record. Correct assignments and evaluate progress within 2 weeks of the end of the rotation. Attend intern case study presentations, question interns, evaluate presentation.
16. As requested, develop and present in-services to other health care personnel, food service personnel, and students.
17. As requested, develop and present lectures to community groups.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Critically evaluates medication therapy and makes recommendations to improve patient medication regimens. Ensures appropriate and cost effective drug therapy. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to evaluating adherence, evaluating and addressing drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, contraindicated medications, inappropriate therapeutic regimens, adverse drug reactions, pharmacokinetics, disease state management and rational effective medication regimens. Accurately and completely documents patient assessment data and clinical interventions.
2. Functions as a therapeutic consultant in areas that may include rational and appropriate use of medications, medication adherence, clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, disease state management and nutrition.
3. May participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee (P&T) activities, evaluate and recommend medications for formulary inclusion, and prepares Formulary evaluations for P&T consideration, as appropriate. May participate in the Quality Council activities including quarterly meetings to discuss quality concerns to improve patient safety and workflow. Quality Council members work with the Clinical Oversight body for approval on quality related process improvement projects.
4. Applies the principles of continuous quality improvement consistent with job expectations. Incorporates quality improvement principles into other activities and projects (i.e. data collection, documentation). Develops criteria for drug use evaluations, medication use indicators and disease-based evaluations. Provides oversight and assists with the development and implementation of evidence-based medication guidelines/protocols. Designs and implements medication monitoring guidelines and programs for both staff and clinical pharmacists.
5. The Clinical Pharmacist assesses the patient at the initiation of drug therapy, develops a patient care plan and drug monitoring regimen and monitors the patient according to the care plan throughout the course of therapy. Verifies medication orders in the computer system for appropriateness and accuracy and dispenses medications in an accurate and timely manner in appropriate quantities based on stability, compatibility of the drug and specific needs of the patient. Documents in the patient clinical record all recommendations and interventions communicated to the physician.
6. Coordinates the drug preparation work of pharmacy technician and checks the accuracy of that work according to literature guidelines.
7. Communicates with the patient, physician, nursing staff, pharmacists and other members of the health care team regarding medication treatment, patient status, response to therapy and clinical objectives to ensure clinical outcome is met. Monitors patient response and documents interventions as appropriate.
8. The Clinical Pharmacist will also be required to take after hours calls as indicated.
9. Participates in all aspects of medication use, including (1) selection, procurement and storage, (2) ordering or prescribing, (3) dispensing, (4) administering and (5) monitoring of all medications utilized. Internal customers may include Patients, Nurses, Licensed Independent Practitioners, Nursing Directors, Department Directors, Administrators and other health care team members for the purpose of integrating services, improving patient care and ensuring effective communication systems. External customers may include local, state, and national pharmacy organizations, Joint Commission, State Board of Pharmacy, colleagues and peers, educational institutions and pharmaceutical representatives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
Requires current and unrestricted pharmacy licensure in the applicable state of practice within 90 days of hire date.
Incumbents in Arizona are also required to provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire.

This position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices.
