SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager (or designee) implements, supervises and evaluates the nursing care of each patient using a nursing process and in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. From admission to discharge, plans with consideration of the aging process throughout the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct patient care.
Provides leadership by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care activities provided by ancillary personnel.
Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding the patient care outcome/discharge planning.
Assesses and provides appropriate teaching based on patient and family needs.
Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
Utilizes all available resources to provide quality, cost effective patient care.
Meets and maintains clinical competencies measured by pre-determined credentialing standards, mandatory/safety education, and completion of Basic Life Support and ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
Identifies growth needs and participates in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduate nurses and less experienced personnel.
Assumes charge nurse responsibility for the patient care unit as delegated.
Competency Assessment:
Advanced Respiratory Assessment and interventions
Successfully cares for patients receiving all types of non-invasive and invasive ventilatory interventions
Critical Airway Guidelines
Monitors and interprets end tidal CO2
Interprets blood gas results
Assists with intubationA
Advanced Cardiac Assessment and Hemodynamic Monitoring
ECG monitoring and arrhythmia recognition, defibrillation, cardioversion, drug intervention, and internal and external pacing.
Cares for patient with congenital heart defect
Hemodynamic monitoring including arterial line and central venous pressure monitoring
Performs neurovascular checks /Utilizes Doppler for pulse assessment
Obtains a 12 lead EKG
Neuro Critical Care
Manages an EVD
Monitors ICP and delivers appropriate interventions
Glasgow Coma Scale assessment
Manages a lumbar drain
Maintains spinal precautions
Cares for patient with spinal cord injury
Surgical Critical Care
Manages immediate post-operative phase of complex surgeries including (but not limited to) neurosurgical, orthopedic , spinal, plastic, vascular, otolaryngology, and complex general surgical.
Provides education to patient according to age and developmental level. Evaluates the patient’s and/or families/caregivers response to teaching using teach back and GetWell Network methodologies.
Management of patient receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
Management of patient receiving continual renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
Care and management of a patient with >20% BSA burns (see burn center orientation checklist and management of the post-operative kidney transplant patient
Management of the stroke patient including responding as part of stroke team and administering and management of patient requiring maximal personal protective equipment (PPE)font-size
Care and management of patient with an oncological emergency
Safely and effectively travel with critically ill pediatric patients throughout institution.
Utilizes available smart pump technology to safely deliver vasoactive, sedation, and other high risk meds to pediatric patients.
Monitors patient during sedation for procedure
Responds to pediatric code blue and pediatric rapid response team calls throughout institution
Care of the patient and family at end of life
Knowledgeable of palliative care therapies.
Complies with standards of care for bereavement in the care of parents and families who are experiencing the loss of a child
Care of patient who has agreed to organ donation/support of parents/families
Able to use the following equipment: Cardiac monitors (stationary and travel)font-size: Giraffe warmer/ Bair Hugger/cooling blanket, Hot Line Warmer, Doppler
Presents nursing report at interdisciplinary rounds
Participates in unit based huddles supporting culture of safety
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.
Must have curret licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Twelve (12) months of Medical/Surgical strongly preferred. Critical care experience highly desirable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Visual and aural ability to monitor patient status.
Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients.
Exposed to patient care environment.
Physical ability for extensive walking and standing; lifting, positioning, and pushing patients on stretchers.

Job Summary:
As a Respiratory Care Assistant, you will play an essential role in the care of ProMedica patients who have respiratory conditions.
You will assemble, operate and troubleshoot therapeutic and diagnostic equipment and help with clinical instruction.

Education Qualifications

Position Purpose
A Clinical Pharmacist provides medication preparation, distribution services and is prospectively involved with provision of pharmaceutical care and the promotion of high-quality, cost-effective, patient-focused care for populations across the age continuum (from neonatal to geriatric patients depending on hospital populations served) in conjunction with other members of the healthcare team according to professional standards and statutory requirements. Coordinates pharmaceutical services for specified hospital units. Problem-solves, communicates with, and serves as a liaison between these units and the pharmacy department.
Actively participates in staff development programs, continuing education, lectures, conferences, and preparation of newsletters, drug class reviews, and new policies and procedures as hospital practice allows.
As hospital pharmacy department practice allows, participates in teaching programs affiliated with the Department of Pharmacy and training programs for nursing, physicians, pharmacists and other allied health professionals. Precepts Doctor of Pharmacy students on patient care activities. Meets with students regularly to review drug therapy and clinical skills. Serves as a preceptor to the pharmacy residents if trained at hospital site.
Performs duties in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
Maintains control and accountability for disposition of controlled substances, hazardous medications and investigational drug regulations. Properly maintains all legally required records. Will perform Tele Intake (telephonic or Video) assessments for patients in the ER that have a Behavioral Health Consult. Triage with appropriate on Call MD, along with taking and entering orders.
Take Triage calls telephonically for patients looking for inpatient to see if medical clearance is needed prior to the patient arriving to the hospital for an assessment.

Job Description:
Provides a full range of differential diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients referred by a physician. Performs specialized tests and treatments as well as teaching procedures to the patient, family and other health personnel.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Minimum one year post Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) clinical experience, two years preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the applicable state Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Candidate must have SLP-CCC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs comprehensive professional evaluation of patients of all ages referred for differential diagnosis of communicative or swallowing disorders. Selects and administers evaluation instruments that are appropriate for the patient's age, developmental level, cognitive function, and reason for referral.
2. Ensures patient and/or family education regarding communication or swallowing deficits and treatment options. Provides counseling to patient and extended family relative to recommendations and treatment options.
3. Plans and conducts treatment programs for patients with speech, language, voice and/or swallowing impairments. Develops individual short term and long-term treatment goals. Implements plans to achieve treatment goals, modifying therapy strategies as necessary to maximize progress.
4. Provides and participates in in-service education and training of speech pathology interns and fellows, medical students/residents, and allied medical personnel. Prepares and presents formal lectures to physicians, nurses, educators, and others on communication and/or swallowing disorders. Provides unique training for speech pathology graduate interns who are assigned to the department for clinical practicum training. Participates in in-service education programs to ensure proficiency and skills in current techniques for the evaluation and treatment of patients.
5. Continuously seeks to improve patient care services and evaluates opportunities to develop new services. Coordinates and prioritizes the patient caseload to ensure that all patient services are rendered efficiently to minimize delays in diagnosis or therapeutic intervention. Provides patient services in a manner which maximizes efficiency, efficacy, and quality without need for continuous supervision.
6. Evaluates options for augmentative/alternative communication and recommends and/or fits appropriate devices or prostheses to meet patient needs, as applicable.
7. Ensures that age/developmentally appropriate patient care is provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.
8. Ensures the ongoing assessment, maintenance, and continual improvement of staff competence related to age-specific needs of patients.

About the Department
Our Infusion Clinic provides a variety of treatments to both Oncology and Non-Oncology patients. For our Oncology patients, these treatments include chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, IV hydration, blood products, Injections, Iron, phlebotomies, Bone Marrow Biopsies, and other infusion therapies related to supportive care for these patients. These treatments are provided to both our Hematology-Oncology Patients and our Gynecology Oncology Patients. Many of these patients may be on a Clinical Research trial or receiving combined modality treatment with Radiation Therapy.
We also support many other specialties such as Rheumatology, Neurology, OB, Huron Gastro, Primary Care providers, etc and the specialized care required for these patients.
Our Infusion Clinic is supported by our Infusion Nurses, Medical Assistants, Infusion Schedulers, Nurse Coordinator, Education Coordinator, and Infusion Manager.
Our Infusion Nurses receive their Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certification through ONS (Oncology Nursing Society). We provide training and education for both the novice and experienced Infusion Nurse. We also provide yearly recertification for our Chemotherapy Certified Nurses.
We utilize EPIC as our EMR

As an RT you will work at assessing, treating and caring for patients of all ages who suffer from pulmonary (breathing) disorders. In addition to analyzing and performing diagnostic testing, respiratory therapists perform relevant exams as well as set up and utilize cardiopulmonary equipment and machines needed to assist or monitor the patients breathing.
Responsibilities:
Gather data to be able to accurately assess a patient's current health status
Assess the patient according to the patient's physical or age related needs
Observe, record and report symptoms, reactions and progress of patients
Administer and record prescribed medications, treatments and diagnostic procedures
Responsible for airway management including performing endotracheal intubations and extubations, pulmonary hygiene, and tracheostomy care and emergency life support procedures
Provides extensive health education to patients and to the general population through community services
What you will need:
Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy
Current NY State RT License
ACLS and BLS certificates
Pay Range: $39.22- $51.77

Overview of Infusion Clinic:
Our Infusion Clinic provides a variety of treatments to both Oncology and Non-Oncology patients. For our Oncology patients, these treatments include chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, IV hydration, blood products, Injections, Iron, phlebotomies, Bone Marrow Biopsies, and other infusion therapies related to supportive care for these patients. These treatments are provided to both our Hematology-Oncology Patients and our Gynecology Oncology Patients. Many of these patients may be on a Clinical Research trial or receiving combined modality treatment with Radiation Therapy.
We also support many other specialties such as Rheumatology, Neurology, OB, Huron Gastro, Primary Care providers, etc and the specialized care required for these patients.
Our Infusion Clinic is supported by our Infusion Nurses, Medical Assistants, Infusion Schedulers, Nurse Coordinator, Education Coordinator, and Infusion Manager.
Job Duties:
Our Infusion MA's provide support to the nursing team, while also providing care to our Infusion patients. Our MA's are trained to give SubQ injections, access Ports & start IV's. Our MA's support the nursing team by obtaining Vital signs, Height/Weights, ordering supplies, stocking, cleaning bays, answering call lights, bring patients back and any other delegated tasks.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an accredited school or at least 1 year of work experience as an MA or in a similar patient care role.
Will consider a student in a medical focused field of study that is able to meet the scheduling needs of the department (SEE ABOVE)
Experience: No previous experience required if MA training has been completed. Prior experience in an Oncology clinic preferred.
Licensure: BLS annual certificate.
