Summary:
Serves as a patient advocate, liaison, and adviser/educator to assist patients with navigating the continuum of care.
Responsibilities:
Provides emotional support, counseling, clinical education and expert guidance to patients and families to promote their ability to understand and meaningfully participate in the healthcare process and personal decision-making.May collect and assess data to identify quality trends or actual sources of risks to patients and employees. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and committees with respect to quality outcomes.Assists patients and families with resolving financial, psychosocial, functional, and administrative issues by advising of options and referring to appropriate resources. Intervenes as appropriate to advocate for patient and family.Continuously reviews and evaluates patient progress as outlined within the plan of care. Communicates plan of care to patient and family and solicits concerns, questions, and issues for resolution.Serves as a liaison between patient and clinical staff, administration, physicians, and community/external resources to coordinate/maximize resources and identify/resolve barriers to the plan of care.

We are looking to hire a Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Cath Lab Team at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport, Iowa!
Schedule:
- M-F, first shift hours--4 (10 hr) shifts per week
- 40 hours per week
- Call one night per week and every 4th weekend
Responsibilities:
- Provides direct patient care activities in the Cath Lab & other applicable procedural areas implementing an outcome-based plan of care
- Identifies learning needs and implements a plan for the patient, conducts patient and family teaching and documents teaching done
- Appropriately uses equipment required to perform Cath Lab procedures
- Understands varying treatment needs and approaches for patients across the life span, as appropriate to the department
- Performs independently in the role of scrub tech, circulator, and hemodynamic monitor and obtains data collection with physiologic calculations specific to the procedure performed and documents
- Initiates BLS/ACLS protocols as appropriate in cardiac emergencies
- Provides care utilizing critical thinking skills based on patients' needs and acuity, and is consistent with policies and procedures of the department
- Coordinates and provides care with a team approach
- Demonstrates clinical competency
- Facilitates medication administration, initiates and manages IV therapy
- Assures medication safety by following the “5 Rights of Medication Administration”
- Manages patient’s pain in accordance with policy
- Monitors and manages conscious sedation/sedated patients in accordance with policy
- Responsible for daily count of controlled substances
- Cross trained to work in other procedural areas as needed
- Assists with and implements appropriate interventions during Cardiovascular Procedures under the direction of a licensed professional
- Communicates relevant clinical information to optimize patient outcomes to phys. and other health care professionals
- Documents completely and legibly
- Conducts an initial assessment and ongoing assessments
- Completes initial assessment in accordance with policy
- Completes ongoing assessments based on patient’s individual needs and/or unit specific time frames
- Identifies problems, needs and/or changes in patient conditions and implements interventions
- Performs indirect patient care activities to maintain department standards
- Cleans and maintains equipment as needed
- Assures all patient care and storage areas are clean and organized
- Assists with supply ordering as assigned
- Participates in unit-based quality monitoring of patient/procedural outcomes
- Charges patient account for procedures and supplies in a timely manner
- Demonstrates responsibility for cost-containment in daily practice
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and supports change within the department/organization
- Participates in and supports precepting and mentoring activities for new employees in the lab as requested by manager
- Does follow up calls to patients as assigned. (customer service, fluoro time)
- Familiar with regulatory requirements and assists with surveys as assigned
- Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include: 18-65 Yrs: Adults and 65+ Yrs: Geriatrics
- Collects, analyzes, interprets and applies age-specific data
- Performs tasks/procedures, uses equipment in an age-appropriate manner
- Communicates and works with others in an age-appropriate manner
- Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures
- Attends required safety programs
- Appropriately and consistently uses the personal protective equipment required of the job
- Knows and can demonstrate departmental emergency procedures for fire, disaster and other emergency situations
- Reports and removes unsafe equipment/furniture

General Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Cath Lab or special procedures lab preferred or 3 years critical care experience
- Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a Registered Nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa and IL RN license within one year

- Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting/updating pertinent health information (i.e. chief complaint, allergies, medications).
- Performs laboratory procedures (i.e. strep test, wound culture, specimen collection, etc.) using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions / infection control guidelines.
- Assists the physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administers medications, under physician/provider orders, including: immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy; administering selected fluids with pre-mixed medications.
- Provides basic patient education on the performance of tasks, skills, treatment and self-care. Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services. Refers questions to registered nurses and physicians/providers per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed.
- Communicates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Documents and communicates accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
- Performs advanced clinical tasks or skills such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen, phlebotomy - butterfly, venous access, heel stick), EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
- Organizes and prepares exam rooms, lab and work areas including: cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
- Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing and caring for instruments and other equipment.
- Participates in patient centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. The Cardiac Device RN is a licensed registered professional nurse who is a clinical expert in cardiac device management and provides ethical, evidence-based, safe, and compassionate nursing care. The Cardiac Device RN focuses on patient safety and the quality of nursing care by identifying and clarifying patient needs related to cardiac device, conducting education, promoting patient advocacy, coordinating healthcare services, and evaluating patient outcomes. The Cardiac Device RN will assist with coordination of care amongst disciplines and departments including but not limited to General Cardiology, EP Cardiology, Advanced Heart Failure, Primary Care, Acute Inpatient Care, PeriOp, Oncology. The Cardiac Device RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care by completing thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of implanted cardiac devices in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Cardiac Device RN will assist in coordination of care and device optimization throughout imaging studies. The Cardiac Device RN is responsible for triaging remote transmissions and programming recommendations for patients undergoing therapies that may impact the device.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions- Coordinate care by triaging orders, device data and the clinical scenario to provide recommendations for programming of device patients undergoing proton therapy, radiation oncology, spine center, peri, post operative and/or MRI.
- Coordinate care for hospitalized device patients by performing in-person device evaluation, communicating to vendor representatives, or utilizing remote transmission technology.

As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Essential Functions:
1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
2. Identifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.
- Analyzes and interprets the assessment data to identify desired patient outcomes/goals.
- Determines nursing interventions to achieve those outcomes/goals.

As an Environmental Service Worker at MercyOne, you will clean client rooms, nursing units, special care units, nursing stations, lounges, lavatories, bathrooms, offices, and all other areas assigned in accordance with maintaining a clean, infection-controlled environment. - Uses the correct cleaning chemicals for the surface being cleaned in order to prevent permanent damage to all fixtures and equipment.

As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. 1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.

- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.

Position Summary

Requirements:

Pay and Benefit Expectations
We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. Essential Functions
- Evaluates patients, selects and administers assessment techniques, synthesizes information to establish appropriate patient care plan to include necessary modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups and patient education as warranted by a holistic view of the patient's diagnosis, condition, age, and discharge needs.
- Gathers and interprets appropriate data from the medical record, physician reports, patient, and/or family as evidenced by documentation.
- Establishes functional goals in conjunction with the patient and provides evidenced based intervention to work towards meeting these goals with ongoing assessment to adjust the plan of care as needed .

Lifting of patients, equipment or supplies will be required up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Able to laterally transfer patients 100 pounds rarely. Must be able to demonstrate any appropriate exercise and activities to patients/caregivers. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and masks are sometimes required due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals or blood and body fluids. Work is in a fast-paced clinical environment. The work environment is primarily indoors but occasionally outdoors.

- Provides crisis intervention, brief psychotherapy, triage, resource development and disposition recommendations for behavioral health patients of the Emergency Department and Medical Center via both in person and via telehealth as indicated by site.
- Provides direct specialized care with patients who have been identified as needing psychological assessment or interventions beyond the scope of general patient care practice, including assessment of patients’ mental status, psychosocial stressors, level of functioning, risk, support systems, strengths and needs.
- Provide ongoing rounding, counsels patients utilizing solution focused therapy and utilizes problem solving collaboratively with patient to stabilize condition/crisis.
- Uses short-term crisis intervention techniques and/or referrals to other support services to support patients and families dealing with acute emotional distress, addictions, grief, loss, disability and traumatic lifestyle changes.
- Develops discharge and safety plan in direct consultation with patient, family, physician and health care team. Coordinates arrangements to implement plan.
- Facilitates admission process to inpatient psychiatric unit (site specific).
- Ensure patients are pre-certified for recommended level of care.
- Communicates with staff and physicians of the Emergency Department, medical unit, Behavioral Health Services and/or human service agencies to obtain all relevant patient information, refers patients and consults with other staff regarding patient progress to provide optimum patient care.
- Participate in unit meetings, trainings related to departmental changes or enhancements and education.
- Adheres to relevant state and federal guidelines governing patient care and treatment of sensitive information, particularly the Illinois Developmental Disability and Mental Health Code, the Illinois Confidentiality Code, HIPPA and EMTALA.
- Ability to flex hours within the department and cross train to related job roles/duties to meet the needs of the department.
- Ensure accurate data collection for billing, the management information system, and other purposes in accord with organizational policies and procedures.
Licensure:
- LSW, LPC minimum
- LCSW/LCPC strongly encouraged to apply and would be considered for a Level 2 position.

Works within and supports a shared governance model. Is customer focused. Transporting patients may be required. May at times come in contact with violent and may be involved in restraining patients.
- If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. - Recommend appropriate respiratory technologies to maximize patient safety, comfort, and clinical outcomes.
Patient & Family Education
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for patients and caregivers.
- Teach proper use, maintenance, and safety considerations for respiratory equipment.
- Provide disease-specific education to support long-term respiratory health and successful home management.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for Certified Respiratory Therapists (CRTs) and other caregivers.
- Support implementation of department protocols, procedures, and evidence-based practice initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
- Current State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Specific certifications as required (i.e. PALS, ACLS, NRP).
- Experience working in a customer service or home healthcare requiring exceptional customer service
- Current driver’s license insured and reliable vehicle, and acceptable driving record.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 7:00pm.
Day to day: This position is for an Intraoperative Radiology Technologist, this is a critical clinical role that spans multiple high-acuity departments like the OR, ER, Fluoroscopy, and Inpatient units

POSITION SUMMARY
This position performs prescribed specialized radiographic procedures as directed by following department/facility policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Medical Radiologic Technical Board of Examiners (MRTBE). This position ensures optimal care/treatment to all patient populations that are cared for in an operative setting.
The incumbent utilizes specialized training within specific surgical settings and possesses dynamic ability to adapt quickly and professionally, with minimal direction, in accordance with ALARA (“as low as (is) reasonably achievable”) guidelines.
Internal customers: All levels of medical imaging and nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: regulatory and health agencies, patients and family members.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares for surgical procedures by setting up the imaging cart (if applicable) in accordance with each OR procedure, check laterality, uploads all patient information, ensures equipment is functioning as expected, and communicates with OR team regarding special imaging needs. Plans for upcoming surgical case needs by being included in OR team planning and all communications regarding specific case needs.
2. Educates patients/families regarding procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Demonstrates professional behavior/conduct in all interactions, fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources and quality patient outcomes.
3. Performs prescribed radiographic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols, as well as under the guidelines of the accrediting agency ARRT and any applicable state licensing agencies. Understands the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure.
4. Performs imaging exams with specialty equipment such as Hybrid OR, O-Arm, C-Arms, Mini C-Arms (peds, ortho), Flat plates for any other studies wanted (KUB’s, etc. for retained foreign bodies). Ensures Imaging C-Arm, fixed or mobile, are fully cleaned following each case and in accordance with infection prevention standards.
5. Produces high quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
6. Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements. Demonstrates the ability to trouble shoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance. Proactively communicates with the surgical team, if and when, there are equipment issues of any kind so that schedules may be swiftly modified and the impact to patients and the surgical team is minimized.
7. Maintains a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors. Adheres to radiation safety policies and holds any person within the OR suite to the same radiation safety policies prior to ionizing radiation being emitted. Educates physicians, resident physicians and medical students on the importance of radiation safety and the importance of dosimetry while inside an active operative setting. Reports any identified radiation safety risks to the Radiation Safety Officer immediately.
8. Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice. This includes maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
9. Facilitates educational and onboarding support for new intra-operative technologists.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Requires national certification American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensure by state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification is required.
This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with two years of related experience.
Must demonstrate effective communication skills, human relations skills, ability to analyze data and solve problems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Evaluates, plans, directs, and administers programs of Physical Therapy. Plans and conducts Physical Therapy programs to restore function, prevent disability, and help patients enhance physical and functional abilities.
Essential Functions
- Evaluates patients, selects and administers assessment techniques, synthesizes information to establish appropriate patient care plan to include necessary modalities, procedures, exercise programs, therapeutic groups and patient education as warranted by a holistic view of the patient's diagnosis, condition, age, and discharge needs.
- Gathers and interprets appropriate data from the medical record, physician reports, patient, and/or family as evidenced by documentation.
- Establishes functional goals in conjunction with the patient and provides evidenced based intervention to work towards meeting these goals with ongoing assessment to adjust the plan of care as needed .
- Documents evaluations, tests, progress notes, daily treatment notes, attendance records, patient/family education, outcomes, discharge notes, and charges as needed.
- Communicates patient's evaluation and subsequent progress to physician, referral sources, and other clinical staff, coordinates patient's schedule and treatment programs, and discharge planning.
- Provides supervision of PTA's and Rehab Tech/Aide as required for licensure.
Hearing (corrected) adequate for oral/aural communication. Vision (corrected) adequate for reading. Intelligible speech and adequate language/cognitive skills to perform job duties. Sitting, standing, and walking required throughout the day. Job duties sometimes require climbing stairs, kneeling, twisting, bending; on occasion, crouching, crawling and reaching overhead. Lifting of patients, equipment or supplies will be required up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Able to laterally transfer patients 100 pounds rarely. Must be able to demonstrate any appropriate exercise and activities to patients/caregivers. Personal Protective Equipment such as gloves, goggles, gowns, and masks are sometimes required due to possible exposure to hazardous chemicals or blood and body fluids. Work is in a fast-paced clinical environment. The work environment is primarily indoors but occasionally outdoors.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy program required. NC license for Physical Therapy required. BLS required per policy guidelines.
