Job Description:
This position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices. In addition, this position is responsible for consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers and for collaborating with care teams and stakeholders to deliver quality, patient centered care.
Schedule: PRN (as-needed basis). Hours will vary based on department and patient care needs.
Essential Functions
- Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service standards.
- Competent Services: Provides skilled physical therapy services, staying updated on standard practices for different patient groups. Conducts evaluations and treatments according to professional standards (APTA), considering diagnosis, history, and physician referrals, and develops care plans with specific goals based on patient assessments.
- Productivity Standards: Meets established productivity standards for the department or service line.
- Documentation and Billing: Keeps thorough and timely patient records as required by regulations and facility policies. Completes patient billing accurately and promptly.
- Communication: Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare providers about patient needs and goals. Ensures smooth operations and optimal use of rehabilitation services.
- Patient Care and Supervision: Manages all aspects of patient care and education, including supervising assistants, aides, office staff, and students to ensure high-quality care.
- Continuing Education: Participates in and promotes continuing education opportunities for self and staff, seeking new learning opportunities according to licensure requirements.
- Quality Improvement: Engages in quality improvement processes, including safe equipment use, improving clinical outcomes, patient access, patient experience and all aspects of the Intermountain Operating Model. Participates in utilization review audits.
- Meetings: Participates in patient care conferences, interdisciplinary meetings, staff meetings, and necessary professional and work groups in collaboration/consensus with leader.
- Program Development and Marketing: Contributes to program development and marketing strategies to grow the physical therapy program and achieve department goals.

Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist license in states where you work.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Basic Computer skills.

- Possess skill sets and experience with target population of job setting.
- Current driver’s license, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

Physician - Breast Radiation OncologistThe Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Kansas Medical Center and University of Kansas Cancer Center, an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center, seeks to recruit a senior breast radiation oncologist at our main academic location and to direct the disease section under the leadership of endowed chair Dr. Ron Chen. The Department has state-of-the-art clinical facilities including IBA Proteus One proton therapy program, high volume brachytherapy programs, adaptive therapy, and Theranostics serving over 7,000 new patients annually across an integrated clinical program.
About University of Kansas Cancer Center-Department of Radiation Oncology
The University of Kansas Cancer Center is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The University of Kansas Cancer Center has recently received a $100 million lead gift to build a new, state-of-the-art destination cancer center.
The Department consists of 25 physician faculty, 20 physicists and highly skilled dosimetrists, therapists, and nurses. It includes active research infrastructure, basic and translational programs with departmental research staff for clinical trial coordination, grant administration, and a full-time statistician. There is an ACGME-accredited four-year residency program in radiation oncology and a CAMPEP-accredited medical physics residency.

Compensation:
Respiratory Therapist II Pay Range: $36.50 - $48.84 per hour
Respiratory Therapist III Pay Range: $36.50 - $50.71 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.

What you will do:
* Demonstrate a working knowledge of the policies and procedures of Hyperbaric Medicine.
* Ascertain that the patient's diagnosis is one of the appropriate approved disorders for HBO Therapy, and that the said diagnosis is clearly entered on the patient's charts/records.
* Implement the physician's orders as indicated by the patient's treatment plan.
* Educate patient and/or patient's family as to the benefits, risks, contraindications, and
safety issues of hyperbaric oxygen therapy prior to treatment.
* Perform blood glucose monitoring as ordered and indicated by patient diagnosis.
* Inspect the patient prior to the commencement of each HBO treatment to ensure all safety standards are being adhered to, i.e. 100% cotton attire, no makeup, no hairspray, etc.
* Perform the HBO treatment and monitor the patient during therapy.
* Perform dressing changes and/or wound care within scope of practice, as ordered and participate in clinic when HBO volumes are below par.
* Take serial photographs of the wound for reporting of the patient's progress.
* Evaluate the patient outcome and meet with the manager and the hyperbaric physician to
discuss patient treatment and adjust treatment as necessary.
* Consult with hyperbaric physician regarding any adverse reactions.
* Document treatment notes and maintain patient treatment/diagnostic records.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be a credentialed or licensed in the state where working.
* Minimum of two (2) years experience in Hyperbaric Medicine is preferred.
Licensure:
Current Florida state license or certification is required in one of the following areas:
1. National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist

In addition to inpatient responsibilities, there may be occasional opportunities to participate in outpatient PM&R follow-up clinics depending on departmental needs.
Pay Range:
$54.90 - $82.35The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Nurse Practitioner serves as an integral member of our multidisciplinary rehabilitation team, working closely with physiatrists, nursing staff, therapists, case managers, patients, and families across the continuum of rehabilitation care.
The position is predominantly hospital-based, with approximately 90% of practice occurring in the inpatient setting. The APP rotates between two primary clinical responsibilities: the inpatient rehabilitation consult service and the acute inpatient rehabilitation unit. Rotations typically occur in blocks of several weeks at a time before transitioning to the alternate service.
Consult Service Responsibilities The APP evaluates new inpatient consultations from multiple hospital units, including neurology, trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general medicine services. Responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive rehabilitation consultations.
- Assessing functional deficits and rehabilitation needs.
- Developing individualized rehabilitation treatment plans.
- Making recommendations regarding therapy services, medical rehabilitation management, and rehabilitation candidacy.
- Assisting with disposition planning and determining the most appropriate post-acute rehabilitation setting.
- Collaborating with referring physicians, therapists, nursing staff, case managers, and families to facilitate optimal patient outcomes.
Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Responsibilities On the rehabilitation unit, the APP works closely with the attending physiatrists in the medical management of patients undergoing intensive inpatient rehabilitation. Responsibilities include:
- Performing admission evaluations and facilitating admission processes.
- Participating in daily patient management and interdisciplinary rehabilitation care.
- Managing acute and chronic medical issues under collaborative physician supervision.
- Reviewing, reconciling, and adjusting medications as appropriate.
- Educating patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, rehabilitation goals, and discharge recommendations.
- Coordinating discharge planning and ensuring appropriate follow-up care, referrals, and continuity of care after hospitalization.
- Collaborating with therapists, nursing staff, case management, and consulting services to maximize patient functional recovery.
Patient Population The APP cares for medically complex rehabilitation patients. Approximately 75% of the patient population consists of individuals with neurologic diagnoses, including:
- Stroke
- Traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Neuromuscular disorders
Additional patient populations include:
- Multiple trauma patients
- Amputees
- Patients with significant medical complexity requiring rehabilitation
- Orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation patients
Practice Environment This role requires strong collaboration with a team of physiatrists and advanced practice providers. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, self-directed clinician with excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking skills, communication skills, and the ability to function effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
Previous experience in hospital-based practice is strongly preferred. Experience in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, neurology, and inpatient medicine would be particularly valuable.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
License/Registration/Certification Required:
Active RN, and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice, AND
Active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served, AND
Active DEA registration prior to hire, AND
If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire, AND
Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluates, assesses and performs prescribed clinical procedures and therapy by order of a licensed medical provider.
- Works under the general supervision of the ECMO Manager, Respiratory Clinical Supervisors and Managers of the Respiratory Care Dept.
- Analyzes and evaluates clinical patient data to determine the appropriate therapy or intervention and offers recommendations on patient care to the medical staff.
- Modifies therapy, as appropriate, based on patient physiology and response by executing the knowledge of understanding the indications, contraindications and the safe and effective use of all hospital approved pharmacological agents and blood products delivered through the ECMO system.

- Assists the physician in the initiation of ECMO.

- When not functioning as an ECMO Specialist functions as a staff respiratory therapist, evaluating and assessing the clinical appropriateness, efficacy and responses to basic and medically complex respiratory care procedures in patients with cardiopulmonary related difficulties.
- Assesses, evaluates and provides complex intensive respiratory care and mechanical ventilation in all patient populations within the acutentensive care areas.
- Provides safe and effective service to the Code Response Team, Rapid Response/Fast Team, and the high risk transport of ECMO patients to / from outlying facilities (LifePact).
- Provide expert care in the use of high frequency ventilation, bronchoscopy assistance, percutaneous tracheostomy procedures, nitric oxide delivery, heliox or other medical gas delivery.
- Participates in approved IRB medical research projects.
- Cleans and restocks pump and equipment cart after discontinuation of ECMO support following all hospital policies regarding infection control and bio-hazard waste procedures when caring for and disposing of circuit components.
- Assembles all components, monitors, evaluates and assesses the SCUF to ECMO interface.
- Participates in departmental quality improvement activities including documenting variances which occur during the administration of ECMO.
- Attends ECMO Staff Meetings for case peer review and in-service education.

As a Registered Nurse at MercyOne, you will provide and direct safe, effective, and culturally competent care for patients with acute medical and surgical conditions. Through evidence-based practice, utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate outcome-based care. The Acute Care RN manages a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, including post-operative, medical, telemetry, and neurologic patients. Supervises and coordinates care provided by LPNs, Patient Care Assistants, and other nursing team members. Essential Functions:
1. Conducts an initial assessment to gather data.
- Makes an initial assessment of new admissions within 30 minutes of the patient’s arrival to the unit.
- Completes all areas of the admission assessment database within 24 hours of admission.
2. Identifies patient problems and develops them into an outcome/goal-based plan of care.
- Initiates the patient problem list and incorporates relevant medical history into the plan of care.
- Analyzes and interprets the assessment data to identify desired patient outcomes/goals.
- Determines nursing interventions to achieve those outcomes/goals.

Job Description:
This position is responsible for screening, testing, evaluating, diagnosing and treatment of injuries, diseases, and disabilities using physical therapy procedures and modalities in accordance with standard physical therapy practices. In addition, this position is responsible for consulting, educating, and training patients, families, and caregivers and for collaborating with care teams and stakeholders to deliver quality, patient centered care.

25. LPNs are responsible for the following technical skills and duties:
· IV Therapy including Ports, PICCs, TLC catheters, sterile dressing changes, antibiotic therapy-no PPIs, TPN and Chemo Infusions, no titration of pain pumps. LPN cannot pull PICC.
· Wound vacs, all aspects of sterile wound care, Pleurx drain care, Ostomy care, Trach care, Gtube care, and Foley and suprapubic caths. LPN cannot remove OnQ pain pump removal (placed by ortho).
· Labs via peripheral and central access.
· Revolution Device changes.
· Complete head to toe assessments.

This position works with the medical team to provide optimal medical nutrition therapy to all patients including infants, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics. Works with other members of the department to improve food service and quality care to patients.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) through the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR)
2. Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided:
WV: Licensed Dietitian through the West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians
MD: Licensed Dietitian through the State Board of Dietetic Practice
OH: Licensed Dietitian through the Ohio Board of Dietetics
3. State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.

EXPERIENCE:
1. One (1) year of clinical experience.

1. Provide comprehensive high quality medical nutrition therapy to patients.
2. Complete physician ordered consults and instructions according to standards of care and document in medical record. Contact the physician regarding any concerns, recommendations, etc.
3. Document NPO/Clear Liquid notes by day five; follow-up until nutrition provided (unless contraindicated).
4. Complete and document calorie counts accurately. Document summary of calorie counts within 24 hours of completion if results warrant nutritional recommendations.
5. Calculate and report results of nitrogen balance and metabolic cart studies accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Complete and document nutrition assessments on high-risk patients according to standards of care; including but not limited to: appropriateness of diet to diagnosis, adequacy of current tube feeding, infant formula, or parenteral nutrition orders; assessment of laboratory values, drug-nutrient interactions, medical history, current nutritional needs, nutrition education needs, care plan development and writing orders in the electronic medical record when nutrition intervention is needed for a patient.
7. The Registered and Licensed Dietitians (RD/LD) at WVUH have been granted Order Writing Privileges (with physician co-signature) which have been approved and established by the WVUH Medical Executive Committee and the WVUH Board of Directors.These privileges may be utilized whenever the physician orders the “MNT Protocol”.This allows the registered dietitian (RD/LD) to order Medical Nutrition Therapies within their scope of practice as defined by the American Dietetic Association and West Virginia Board of Licensed Dietitians (WBOLD).
8. The RD is considered qualified with current registration from the Commission on Dietetic Registration, current licensure through the WVBOLD, and clinical competency as verified initially and through the annual performance appraisal process. (See RD order writing privileges policy for specific guidelines.)
9. Complete and document follow-up to assessments and consults according to standards.
10. Attend local or national meetings/conferences specifically those that physicians request dietitian attendance or those meetings/conferences required to maintain accreditation of hospital programs or foster partnership with other facilities.
11. If applicable, provides guidance and supervise daily activities of nutritional therapy support team, i.e. difficult or unusual diet orders, tube feeding calculations, infant formula calculations. Document potential/actual errors or harmful interactions with patients or staff committed by NCA’s on assigned units where appropriate (i.e. personnel file, medical record, etc.)Provide intervention and participate in disciplinary actions as appropriate.
12. Work with Physicians, Nurse Managers and nursing staff on assigned units to improve medical nutrition therapy to the patient, including diet texture changes, providing appropriate foods/texture for aspiration risk (also work with speech pathologist), timing of medications to prevent drug-nutrient interactions, etc.
13. Act on any patient food complaints, provide alternative selections and/or arrangements. Follow-up with appropriate managers on food quality issues.
14. Review and update clinical rotation assignments annually to reflect changes in practice and feedback from previous interns, unless determined by student's university. Develop and teach classes regarding area of specialization to the interns (i.e. renal nutrition, oncology, nutrition support, etc.).
15. Monitor interns, making certain that they are functioning to standards before leaving unsupervised. Review and co-sign all intern documentation in the medical record. Correct assignments and evaluate progress within 2 weeks of the end of the rotation. Attend intern case study presentations, question interns, evaluate presentation.
16. As requested, develop and present in-services to other health care personnel, food service personnel, and students.
17. As requested, develop and present lectures to community groups.

Major Responsibilities:
- Uses Respiratory therapy processes to support assessment of patient utilizing a variety of skills such as pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiograph, hemodynamic values, laboratory values, and correlates blood gases and electrolytes. Can identify and address the special needs of patient population specific to department services.
- Operates specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care venues. Assists physician with bedside or other procedures as applicable to facility.
- Provides medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient driven respiratory protocols as prescribed.
- Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper functionality of equipment. Troubleshoots equipment as necessary and identifies the need for service and/or repair.
- Educates and instructs patients in purpose, technique, self-care, goal of therapy, and disease management.
- Facilitates clinical problem solving and collaborates with other departments to provide education on managing patients.
- Under physician direction, the respiratory therapist must be able to adapt and comply to policies and procedures for a variety of different service areas, perform tasks and/or special duties as required by assignment and maintain performance standards and organizational behaviors.
