Accurately Assemble, Distribute and Collect Patient Trays
Collects patient trays at the appropriate time and in an efficient manner
Cleans all wares used for this purpose

Summary:
Under the direction of the Clinical Laboratory Management, the Supervisor is accountable for ensuring that appropriate and timely specimen handling, delivery, specimen testing, results reporting and customer service are provided in an efficient and cost effective manner in accordance with laboratory and hospital policies and procedures. The Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that all laboratory procedures being performed in areas of responsibility will comply with all regulatory, accrediting, and licensure requirements.
Responsibilities:
Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.Perform method validations and ongoing method assessments.Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with regulatory and departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols.Establishes policies, procedures, and protocols for testing performed in a defined laboratory section(s). Defines analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and reference ranges for test methods. Oversees quality control testing and instrument maintenance.Assists with the development of training material and the competency assessment tools used by the department and ensure that all associated documentation is kept up to date.Reports test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.Oversees inventory management and provides input into the budget process.Assess competency of team members.Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, instruments and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.

Provides exceptional customer service and ensures all questions and concerns are addressed in a timely and courteous manner. May guide the patient to appropriate destination for services.May confirm physician and prescription orders ensuring accuracy.Interviews patients and guarantors at the workstation or bedside to obtain all necessary information, including a copy of the patient or guarantor identification card.Explains polices including all regulatory and financial consent forms; secures all required signatures.Collects patient out-of-pocket responsibility per collection guidelines. Provides patient estimates as requested. Prepares and balances a daily deposit of all payment collections.Verifies insurance benefits including obtaining insurance card(s) and confirms coverage is active. Determines correct insurance filing order, if multiple insurance coverages are effective for that service.May perform patient discharge functions including, but not limited to, review of after visit summary (AVS), future appointment scheduling, and referrals.May schedule walk-in appointments for services offered.Obtains pre-certification and authorization.

The Sr. Director of Physician/Medical Group Financial Operations oversees and ensures the enhancement and development of accurate financial data and information in order to improve the organization's financial performance. This position advises organizational leaders through interpretation of complex financial information to assist in the decision-making process with a focus on bottom-line performance improvement through active participation as a member of the Hospital/Systems Leadership Team.
