Summary:
Manages the daily operations of the assigned department, unit, or function to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational objectives. May provide direct care to patients.
Responsibilities:
Assesses the quality of patient care delivered. Evaluates needs of patients and families and provides patient and family centered care. Manages complaints and conflicts through to resolution.Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.Ensures regulatory compliance. Assist with the identification, determination and need for systems, equipment and supplies. Monitors usage, and oversees proper working order of equipment and ensures adequate supplies.Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, documents and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. May oversee scheduling, recruitment, payroll and student engagements.

Additional Job Information:

Education
- Required - Master's in social work (MSW)
Work Experience
- Required - 5 years of related experience

Certifications
- Required - Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of practice and able to engage in independent practice.
- Required - Licensure or certification as a sex therapist may be required depending on area of assignment
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Good knowledge of common disease entities and disorders and medical terminology in order to understand acute and ongoing needs of patients and families.
- Excellent psychotherapeutic skills.
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively and courteously with patients, families, multi-disciplinary team members, departmental peers and community agency personnel.
- Advanced knowledge of an acute and chronic care medical setting, medical terminology and the psychosocial and economic effects of illness and/or trauma upon the patient and their support system.
- Advanced knowledge of managed care and public programs such as those funded by Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance plans.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

Summary:
The Patient Financial Services Representative (PFSR) serves as the first point of contact in greeting patients and guarantors in the hospital, ambulatory or medical office setting. The PFSR engages with the patient or guarantor to obtain pertinent information and answer any questions in an effort to ensure that all required demographic, financial, and insurance eligibility information is gathered and verified. Ensures all required notices and consent forms are signed accordingly.

Prepares specimens for analysis by registering and accessioning orders via Hospital Information System and Laboratory Information Systems (clinical lab and/or anatomic pathology), verifying specimen acceptability. Performs established pre-analytical and analytical laboratory procedures, not requiring Medical Technologist or Histology Technologist interpretation, in accordance with established laboratory policy in an accurate, safe, and timely manner.

The Patient Financial Services Representative (PFSR) serves as the first point of contact in greeting patients and guarantors in the hospital, ambulatory or medical office setting. Other Information: In Memorial Physician Group (specialty practices), additional responsibilities include: (1) obtain specialty authorizations (2) authorization denial and peer to peer process (3) patient care navigation ex: surgical and procedural coordination and scheduling for patient specific populations (4) handle all incoming calls and physician and hospital back line (5) obtain and confirm referrals. In the Hospital, additional responsibilities include: (1) Upon validation of patient identity, place identification band on patient (2) obtain signatures for hospital specific regulatory forms not required in an ambulatory or office setting (3) obtain authorizations for walk-in appointments (4) determine when financial assistance is needed. In Memorial Primary Care, additional responsibilities include: (1) MIH-MPC program patient referral, payment collection and eligibility scheduling (2) process referral work-ques and same day access requests (3) work with Patient Access Center on real time patient requests (4) address prescription refill requests, patient advice requests through MyChart, and provider scheduling template.
For the Physician Practices (MPG, MPC and UCC): Must be willing to travel to other locations based on the needs of the business. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Summary:
