Responsibilities
· Exhibits each of the Mount Carmel Service Excellence Behavior Standards holding self and others accountable and role modeling excellence for all to see. · Meets population specific and all other competencies according to department requirements.
· Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients.
· Relationship-based Care: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Mount Carmel following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system.
· (For patient care providers) Provides nursing care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism in nursing practice within the model of the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®. OFFICE MANAGEMENT
· Assists with administrative activities necessary for supporting the department including office organization, filing, typing, and routine departmental administration.
· Maintains all department databases, files, and records.
· Takes minutes in staff meetings and committees.
· Prepares service related reports and proposals. INVENTORY CONTROL
· Develops, implements, and maintains an inventory control system for department supplies/equipment which will include:
· Maintaining an inventory control system for ordering routine stock items.
· Ordering routine stock and special supply items.
· Checking/stocking ordered supplies and equipment.
· Maintains purchase order requisitions and capital item requisitions. INITIATIVE:
· Takes responsibility to facilitate improvements in patient services, staff/physician relationships, and the working environment. COMMUNICATION
· Coordinates service requests, telephone requests and information to customers using appropriate form of communication (e.g. electronic mail, voice mail, written correspondence, meetings, etc.). DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS
· Acts as a resource person for the Unit Director/Director, Physicians and staff regarding environmental/resource aspects of department operations.
· Completes environmental rounds monthly and submits reports as directed.
· Monitors supply rooms for organization, appropriate par levels, and accurate stocking
· Coordinates service requests with appropriate departments (Clinical Engineering, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Telecommunications, etc.) COLLABORATION
· Collaborates with Unit Director/Director in the management of financial resources including:
· Reviewing and updating department charges and initiating new charges as appropriate.
· Collaborating with Financial Services and Materials Management when appropriate. TECHNOLOGY - Utilizes appropriately and demonstrates continuous learning
Requirements/Qualifications
· Education: High school graduate or equivalent
· Licensure / Certification:
· Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred
· Effective Communication Skills
· Experience in inventory, budget and cost control systems preferred
· Evidence of effective clerical and computer skills preferred
· Self motivated, independent worker with multi-tasking abilities

Where you will work:
5 South: Stroke ACE Med/Surg is a 34 inpatient acute care Med/Surg unit caring for a wide variety of diagnosis including Stroke, Seizures, Neuro focus, Diabetes, Electrolyte imbalance, Kidney Disease, Mental Health, Dementia, Alzheimer’s. This is an excellent unit to build a neurological focus, foundational skills, become certified in the specialty of Med/Surg and develop specialized skills applicable to any area in nursing.

Typical RN to Patient Ratio: Days: 1:4-5, Nights: 1:5-6
What we are looking for:
Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

Build foundational skills and knowledge through Nurse Residency and Preceptor directed orientation.

Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Provide continuity of patient care through 12-hour shifts, patient centered care and team minded support.

Leads or oversees an entire business application module or system, providing mentorship and guidance to junior administrators to develop technical expertise. Summary:
The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for performing, evaluating, and reporting of technical laboratory procedures on patient specimens for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Follows established procedures to ensure laboratory quality control and compliance with professional standards of practice. The Assistant Supervisor may perform administrative and supervisory responsibilities of the laboratory section assuming additional technical or non-technical responsibilities as needed.

- Experience with a minimum of 5 years working in hospital lab in Hematology and Chemistry, highly preferred.

Position Summary:
This Director position will be overseeing all of the Critical Care Units at Mount Carmel East to include the Cardiac ICU, Medical ICU, Neuro ICU and Surgical Trauma ICU as well as the Intermediate Care Units to include the Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, Neuro Intermediate Care Unit and the Surgical Intermediate Care Unit. Respiratory Therapy and Rapid Response Team.
What the Director of Critical Care will need:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN Required
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio
- Master's in Nursing, Healthcare, Business or Related Field Required.
- Prior ICU nursing and/or Leadership Experience Preferred.
- Prior Director and Change Management Experience Preferred.
What the Director of Critical Care will do:
- Drive Evidence-Based/Best Practice
- Work collaboratively with physicians/surgeons/pulmonologists for cardiac, medical and surgical care services.
- Develop and support nursing services leadership
- Oversight of all Intensive Care Units
- Develop strategy and implementation plan for positive patient experience and colleague engagement
- Operationalize organizational initiatives and present to front line
- Succession planning
- Ensure efficient operation within productivity measures while staying current with changing dynamics
- Align with other system leadership to develop strong working relationships
- Work with senior leadership

The Provider Service Specialist responds in a timely and accurate manner to provider inquiries made by phone, in person and in writing regarding Plan benefits, services and payment determinations.
Responsibilities
- Receive, interpret and accurately respond to provider inquiries, both verbally and in writing in accordance with department standards, policies and procedures.
- Consistently document and accurately code all inquiries within designated software applications, within required Plan timeframes and according to Plan documentation policies
- Review, investigate and advise providers regarding claims status and payment determinations
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of plan benefits, services and stay abreast of changes from year to year
- Document and track actions requested from other departments addressing provider or member inquiries and informal complaints to insure prompt resolutions
- Interact professionally, efficiently and effectively with providers, management and other departments in a caring and honoring manner.
- Assist other internal departments as needed and assigned in support of Plan operations
- Responsible for both incoming and outgoing provider phone initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience: 2-3 years of prior customer service experience required
- Managed Care Industry knowledge or experience preferred
- Knowledge of and/or the ability to do data entry, various claim form formats, medical terminology, CPT and ICD9 coding
- Ability to function well in high pressure situations with attention to detail and accuracy
