Hours and Schedule:
**All Acute Patient Access Services New Hires are required to attend New Hire Orientation & PAS New Hire Training.
Acute Patient Access Training (first 4 weeks): Monday - Friday standard business hours.
Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend and 15%-night shift differential when applicable.
*On-call PM rotation and mandatory holiday rotation.
Schedule:
Week 1: Sunday 12:00pm to 12:30am, Monday 2:00pm to 2:30am and Thursday 2:00pm to 2:30am
Week 2: Tuesday 2:00pm to 2:30am, Wednesday 2:00pm to 2:30am and Saturday 12:00pm to 12:30am.
There is on-call and holiday rotation with this position. Will be crossed trained in Inpatient and Outpatient Registration.

This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment. This position is in a hospital-based setting which includes Emergency Dept, Inpatient, Obstetrics, Outpatient, etc. Responsible for in person patient intake and registration, providing superior customer service, accurately identifying, and obtaining authorizations patients’ insurance, verifying eligibility and benefits, generating patient estimates for services rendered, financial counseling, and collecting patient liability. Demonstrates the ability to resolve customer issues and provides excellent customer service.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Verifies patient’s demographics and accurately inputs this information into EHR, including documenting the account thoroughly to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials/penalties from the payor(s).
2. Proficiency with multiple services including, but not limited to inpatient, observation, emergency, obstetrics, surgery, imaging. This position may cover services 24/7.
3. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of insurance guidelines for all services. Proficiently verifies, reads, and understands insurance benefits.
4. Demonstrates proficient understanding that this position creates the first impression for our patient's experience with Banner Health. Demonstrates a positive patient experience through interactions and effective communication.
5. Proficient understanding of payer authorization guidelines. Accurately submits timely notification according to insurance guidelines using various systems to reduce/eliminate denials. Consistently meets all registration related key performance indicators as determined by management.
6. Obtains federal/state compliance information, consents and documentation required by the patient’s insurance plan(s). This includes a thorough understanding of accurately completing hospital-based compliance forms required by CMS. Uses multiple computer applications proficiently.
7. Consistently discusses financial liability with the patient(s) and/or families that includes: collection in full of patient liability, assisting patient in applying for Banner Line of Credit, setting up payment plans and/or assisting patient with Banner Financial Assistance policy/application.
8. Provides a variety of patient services and financial services tasks. May be assigned functions such as transporting patients, training new hire employees, recapping daily deposits, posting daily deposits, or conducting other work assignments of the Patient Access Services team.
9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a high-volume, fast paced, clinical environment which requires to ability to be adaptable, critical thinking, and independent decision making and to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient’s care. Primary external customers include patients and their families, physician office staff and third-party payors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED is required.
Must have customer service skills or knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience.
Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, database software, and typing ability are required.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree preferred.
CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) certification, a credential offered by the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA)
CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) certification, a credential offered by the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM)
Knowledge of medical terminology or healthcare systems.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

As a Registered Nurse on Pediatrics you can expect to work along a small team dedicated to providing exception care to our pediatric patients. In this role you will be working alongside a team who is dedicated to taking care of children. Pediatric RN's do float to assist Women Infant Services with couplet care and also float to Med/Surg floors.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Assesses patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs. Reviews patient history and physical with patient/family and assures completion within appropriate timeframe. Reviews available information obtained by other health care team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to the physician(s) and other appropriate caregivers. Completes assessment and reassessments according to patient need and as outlined in policy.
2. Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family and health team input. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient's response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
9.Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. This program provides a collaborative learning environment in which you can refine your nursing skills, enhance your knowledge, and develop new personal and professional relationships.
Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. We offer all of our New Grads multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities to achieve your long-term career goals. Whether you are wanting to go into a specialty unit, leadership roles, non-bedside nursing opportunities, or any other sector of nursing - we will help you get there! The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! Most new nurses will work three 12 hour shifts, which will include weekend and holiday rotations with other staff members.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. 1. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. 2. Processes patient admissions, records bed assignments in system, makes face sheets and prints patient labels upon admission. Orders outside records from other facilities and Physician’s offices.
3. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. May be responsible for QC/validations.
4. Enters pending discharges into the system. Coordinates patient appointments for procedures and treatments that may be required prior to timely discharge. Processes patient discharges.
5. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery.
6. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.
7. This position works under local supervision and has responsibility for assigned unit only. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Interacts with other health unit secretaries and other staff at all levels throughout the facility. POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. Initiates a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, assessment data and the medical plan of care. Goals for patient are realistic, measurable and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. Considers the physical, cultural, psychosocial, spiritual, age specific and educational needs of the patient in the plan of are. Plans care in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team. Reviews and revises the plan of care to reflect changing patient needs based on evaluation of the patient’s status.
3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.
4. Evaluates the patient's and family's response to care and teaching, and revises the plan of care as needed. Evaluates patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. Evaluates patient's response and the effectiveness of patient teaching.
5. Documents assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient's response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
6. Provides care based on the best evidence available and may participate in research activities within clinical practice. Participates in unit or facility shared leadership. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate.
7. Contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care. Actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes. Such activities may include participating in professional organizations.
8. In some roles, this position may supervise staff and work flow of the department.
9.Interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. Interacts with other health care providers in numerous settings in order to report and ask for or clarify information. Also works with clergy to provide spiritual support. Synthesizes and prioritizes data from multiple sources to provide support for the human response of the patient and family to changes in health status.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary/interim RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Relates throughout the interview process the experience, training and education needed to perform the job. Experience in the clinical area for which he or she is applying is desired. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area in which they work as demonstrated through annual validations. Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions require a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Experience must include working in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area. Banner Registry and Travel physician practice positions require a minimum of one year experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician practice or an acute care setting.

The Banner Health New Nurse Experience is a full-time Registered Nurse position that assists you in transitioning from a new graduate to a fully competent, professional nurse at Banner Health. Successful candidates will be placed in specific units at Banner Health facilities to be clinically mentored by unit staff and educators. We offer all of our New Grads multiple Career Pathways and development opportunities to achieve your long-term career goals. The expectation is that you will stay on your NNE unit for at least 12 months to get a full and comprehensive training experience! Position Details:
As a phlebotomist, you'll support Geisinger’s mission of providing exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services. At Geisinger, our phlebotomists are the friendly faces that collect samples to be analyzed by our state-of-the-art labs. Supporting a varied patient population, you’ll be responsible for venipunctures/skin punctures on patients in our inpatient setting.
There are many other tasks our phlebotomists complete, such as troubleshooting physician orders, processing specimens for testing, as well as aiding our patients.
We have many different skill levels in our labs, from new to experienced phlebotomists, and all skill levels are well utilized. Geisinger employs phlebotomists in roles I, II, and III. We also have numerous staff members who pursue their ASCP certification and become trainers for our department!
Phlebotomist I, II and III qualifications will be considered at appropriate compensation. Salary commensurate with experience.

3. Implements the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of the activities of the health care team. Provides care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, in compliance with policies and procedures, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately, and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for whom care is provided.

As the Associate Director you will have oversight of operations, quality, safety, experience of patients and staff for Neurology Progressive Care. This stroke certified unit provides specialty care for neurology patients, including stroke, neurological conditions, seizure patients primarily, but does care for patients with other diagnosis requiring a higher level of care. This role is instrumental in assisting and facilitating care of not only the patients admitted on the Neuro unit, but other patients requiring neurological services in ICU, and other inpatient units. We utilize tele neurology services for 24hr neurology care. The staff of the unit are trained as PCU level staff with a more acute/higher level nursing needs focus.
Being a leadership position the worked hours for this role are typically Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm but may vary based on the need of the facility including the possibility of evenings, nights, weekends, holidays. This role will also join the Nursing Administrator on call rotation.

This position will work under the supervision of the pharmacist performing routine duties in packaging, distribution, non-sterile compounding, and record-keeping of pharmaceutical supplies. Serves as a liaison between the customer and the pharmacist. Becomes proficient in preparing compounded intravenous medications, total parenteral nutrition products, and chemotherapeutic agents within compliance with USP regulations. Effectively uses pharmacy computer systems to investigate and respond to missing medication requests. CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Identifies medications and other items for reorder as necessary to maintain a continuous inventory of medications and supplies. 2. Manages users within the automated dispensing technology database as per policy. Investigates discrepancies and troubleshoots malfunctions in automated dispensing technology.

Interacts primarily with department personnel, cross-department personnel, internal customers, patients and physicians.

5. Compounds non-sterile medication products. Understands and appropriately follows all product worksheets/recipes for documentation and check processes. Understands and adheres to all applicable USP compounding guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge of and consistently performs calibrations of equipment and accurately measures components for compounding. Repackages bulk medications into unit of use packaging. Completes accurate documentation of medications compounded and repackaged per policy.
6. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, laws, and regulations. Performs quality control activities such as monthly nursing unit inspections and pharmacy section checks in a timely manner. Completes documentation of refrigerator temperatures, and equipment maintenance activities as required.
7. Handles narcotic medications following all federal and legal requirements as set through policy and procedure. Understands all regulatory requirements for receiving, compounding, repackaging, and distribution for controlled substances. Consistently adheres to all storage and inventory movement documentation requirements for controlled substances.
8. Becomes proficient in performing compounding and labeling of intravenous non-hazardous compounds using proper sterile and aseptic technique as appropriate to the site of care. Understands the different product lines in sterile populations (adult, pediatric, and neonate). Completes all required environmental cleaning procedures. Documents all required tasks and other information per policy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Pharmacy Technician licensure and active Pharmacy Technician certification OR Pharmacy Intern licensure in the state of practice.

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.
2. Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.
3. Recognizes and reports abnormalities and/or changes in the patient’s health status and responses to treatment to a licensed professional. Promotes continuity of care by accurately and completely communicating to other caregivers the status of patients for which care is provided.

5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.
6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Monitors and tracks the use and whereabouts of electronic equipment such as patient ID scanners and lap top computers. Ensures that all are accounted for and in working order.

This position provides highly skilled support via liaison representation to committees, medical staff departments, physicians, and other hospital personnel under moderate supervision.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Coordinates all aspects of assigned medical staff committees including compiling agenda material, accurately documenting minutes, compiling follow-up memos and letters, researching and preparing information for chairs, and providing professional assistance to various chairmen regarding privileging, credentialing, reappointment, and medical staff rules and regulations as outlined in the medical staff bylaws.
2. In consultation with the director, provides administrative support for hearing committees. Serves as a resource for medical staff members regarding medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, hospital and medical staff policies, regulatory requirements and parliamentary procedure. Assists in drafting correspondence ensuring compliance with established bylaws, rules and regulations. May coordinate GME and/or CME functions and processes.
3. Under direction, liaises between medical staff and administration, communicating sensitive and confidential issues including peer review. Interacts directly with a variety of internal and external customers. Uses judgment and discretion to maintain peer review protection to hospital and medical staff.
4. Understands and maintains an accurate, secure and updated database of physician and allied health information to query on basic demographic profiles including but not limited to staff privileges and status for other hospital departments and facilities requiring this information. Uses various internal databases to gather and analyze physician and allied health data used in the reappointment, peer review and quality improvement processes of the medical staff and board of directors.
5. Coordinates processing of all aspects of physician and allied health credentialing and reappointment processes within appropriate timeframes ensuring the quality of the practitioners providing patient care. Assures the completeness and accurateness of the credentialing process. Requests additional information from external medical if necessary. May obtain and log expired credentials on a monthly basis according to rules and policies. Monitors the progress of physicians through the supervision period, assisting department chairs with the appropriate procedures, forms and time limits.
6. Collects and compiles data for physician and allied health quality profiles to analyze practice patterns using data to determine performance. This includes working with senior staff, department chairmen, quality staff, and other hospital staff to identify sources of data and methods of presenting and analyzing data.
7. Manages the preparation, distribution and maintenance of the physician emergency department call schedules.
8. Requires high degree of confidentiality and critical decision making. Requires moderate direction and guidance. Has complex relationships with members of the administrative staff of the hospital, members of the medical and affiliated staff, medical staff officers, medical staff department chairs, section chiefs, physician and other professional applicants, attorneys, medical staff professionals at other facilities, state licensing bodies, other departmental personnel and patients. All require courtesy, tact, patience, cooperation and confidentiality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess strong knowledge of medical office administration as normally obtained through 1-2 years experience in a healthcare, paralegal, managed care or credentialing. Requires knowledge of medical terminology and professional physician interface. Requires experience interacting with physicians in highly sensitive situations. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Requires astute judgment in human relations skills to interface and communicate in an articulate manner with medical staff, administrators, legal counsel and hospital personnel. The Operations Logistics Coordinator will be assigned a hospital or multiple hospitals each shift, in which they coordinate with the internal stakeholders of these facilities to procure patient bed assignments for patients coming from the Emergency Department, procedural areas, transfers from other facilities & from home, as well as the internal movement of patients when status changes occur. This position requires systems thinking, the ability to manage many conflicting priorities, excellent communication skills and proficiency with multiple computer applications. Serves as a liaison between both internal and external customers as well as providing ongoing support to the house supervisor of the hospitals to implement their throughput plan. Manages data as related to operations. Performs Utilization Management functions as required by the system.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1.Acts in conjunction with the house supervisor to manage daily throughput and support the command center for the hospital through surge management. Coordinates with internal personnel of the hospital such as staffing representative, unit leaders & procedural area leaders to manage patient movement. Coordinates with external personal responsible for transferring patient into the hospital from outside agencies to ensure timely acceptance. Maintains list of anticipated needs and projects the eb and flow of the hospital to plan throughput and manage resources.
2.Responds to the electronic orders for patient’s placement within the hospital by entering bed assignments into bed placement software timely and correctly. Files and archives completed, and cancelled orders per hospital processes. Completes multiple steps for the placement of each patient including electronic and verbal communications with the necessary stakeholders and updating multiple computer applications. Receives, verifies, and provides ongoing follow-up requests and referrals/orders.
3.Gathers all information for correct patient assignments and verifies accuracy of that information. Seeks clarification when inaccuracies occur. Follows through with resolving inaccuracies, communicates resolution in real time. Unresolved issues are escalated to appropriate nursing leadership for intervention. Prioritizes the safe transition of patients throughout the placement process.
4. Completes and distributes any ad hoc reports which are necessary for patient throughput management and communication. Collects and logs any data which may be requested, and other duties as assigned.
5. Facility based position with possible multi facility-wide impact on patient throughput, resource utilization and the patient experience. Coordinates with multiple stakeholders, manages conflicting priorities in an environment which may be fast paced and demand attention to detail. Efficiently balances requests for patient beds with available resources which may be limited and under tight deadlines. While providing excellent customer service to other Banner employees and providers of patient care and by maintaining excellent communication with impacted patient units.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
The position also requires skills and abilities typically gained with 0-2 years of experience in a healthcare office or hospital operations setting, and/or educational background. The Banner Wyoming Medical Center Operating Room team is a highly functioning team whose focus centers on providing exceptional patient care. As a Senior Surgical Tech, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where teamwork and efficiency are valued; while you hone your critical thinking skills and positively impact the patient outcomes on a daily basis.
As a Surgical Technologist, you'll work in an operating room along with other healthcare professionals. You will have the opportunity to assist during surgery and perform pre and post-operative duties. Scrub techs are the first team members to scrub in. After doing so, they set out necessary instruments, ensure they’re sterilized, position the patient on the operating table, and arrange sterile drapes ensuring the surgical field is exposed. Throughout the procedure, scrub techs will pass the surgeon instruments, sponges, and dressings as needed. They may also retract tissue, apply suction, or assist with suturing.
This will be a Part Time Varied Shift Position, working 20 hours per week.
BLS Certification is required for this position.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedure.

7. Participates in or leads the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.

High school diploma/GED and current basic life support certification.

5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.
6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient’s record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. Maintains adequate supplies of frequently used, patient education materials. Assists in the ordering of patient specimens. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.
7. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery. Depending on department assignment, receive a minimum passing score of 85% on ECG or EEG test with accurate identification of all lethal cardiac dysrhythmias and epileptiform activity is required. Successful completion of either a unit approved basic electrocardiogram interpretation course or electroencephalographic interpretation course, or on the job training is also required.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees working for Banner Home Care AZ must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In Arizona the Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure is preferred. Recent healthcare experience preferred. Successful completion of an approved unit secretary program is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
