Required Qualifications:
Education
Associates or Bachelor's degree required. Non degreed applicants with RRT credentials prior to January 1, 2006 and graduates from a military RT program with RRT credentials will also be considered.
Certification/Licensure
State Respiratory license
NBRC RRT
BLS required at time of hire.
For new graduates only, must have State license and BLS at time of hire, and must obtain NBRC RRT within 6 months of hire date.

Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Shift: Second shift
Available Hours:
9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Weekends: Every other weekend

At Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Emergency Department nurses care for patients in one of the region’s most advanced and fast-paced clinical environments. Our 53-bed Emergency Department is equipped to manage a wide range of medical emergencies, with approximately 10% of cases related to trauma.
As part of a Level I Trauma Center, you will work alongside experienced emergency medicine providers, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely, high-quality care when patients need it most. Nurses in this department gain exposure to complex emergency, trauma, cardiac, stroke, critical care, and specialty cases while building advanced clinical skills in a collaborative environment.
Sentara Norfolk General Emergency Department has been recognized with the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award, honoring exceptional and innovative leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research.
Education Requirements
Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
BSN or MSN preferred
Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered
Certification/Licensure Requirements
Registered Nurse license required
Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be considered
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred
Experience Requirements
Prior RN experience preferred
Emergency Department experience preferred
Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads’ only Level I Trauma Center. Education Requirements
Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required
BSN or MSN preferred
Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Assist with plans and prepares revenue analysis for system wide programs, projects and services, and monitors revenue budgets and benchmarking activities. Acts as support for all system intermediary data requests, audits and exit conferences.
Assists in preparation and provides necessary information required for the completion of system wide external financial audits, and Medicare and Medicaid interim and year-end cost reports. Overview

Contributes to system-wide Quality/Health Outcomes measure development and definitions, goal setting, project improvement activities and work groups for AAMG and EPH. Keeps current on external reporting programs, associated measures, and best practices in order to ensure internal priorities align with external environment and demands. Maintains programming specifications and code lists for all quality measures in value-based agreements and internal reporting and partners with other data professionals to ensure timely communication of critical updates.
Leads the development of enterprise-wide reports, processes, workflows, tools, and initiatives designed to improve health outcomes. Leads the development and adoption of processes and mechanisms for accurate quality data collection, analysis and reporting. Manages the interpretation, analysis, and communication of Quality data by engaging professionals in own department and leaders of other collaborating departments to drive improvements.
Participates in the development of reports, files, and databases used for internal and external reporting. Ensures accuracy and optimization of quality data and is a resource for business intelligence, data analysis, and workflows supporting Quality initiatives and data integrity.
