To perform, under the responsibility and supervision of a physician, diagnostics and therapeutic tasks to further educate the Advanced Practitioner Fellow in knowledge, patient care decision-making, and patient care management. The AP Fellow works collaboratively with the attendings and APs to provide care to new or established patients, assure continuity of care and advocacy for patients, and in serving as a liaison between physicians and patients. Additionally, the AP Fellow works collaboratively with medical staff members, nursing personnel, and other departmental staff to coordinate patient care requirements.Job Duties:
- To assist the physician in the evaluation and management of patients, to include:
- Performs and records comprehensive patient history and physical examination.
- Reviews all appropriate laboratory studies and x-rays.
- Clearly discriminates between normal and abnormal findings when evaluating a patient’s historical, physical examination, and diagnostic data.
- In concert with collaborating or supervising physician, writes orders for appropriate laboratory, diagnostic studies, and consultations.
- Executes and relays medical regimens as directed by the collaborating or supervising physician.
- Assists with patient hospital admissions and consults, including performing and documenting the patient history and physical examination, and entering routine orders.
- Identifies patient problems and develops further evaluation and treatment plans in concert with the appropriate collaborating or supervising physician.
- Informs the collaborating or supervising physician of all changes in the patient's condition.
- Assists the collaborating or supervising physician in all inpatient settings.
- Assists the collaborating or supervising physician with correspondence relevant to the patient's care.
- Communicates to patients and family members, in language they can understand, summaries of all patient medical findings and advice as directed by the collaborating or supervising physician.
- Participates in training on the performance of therapeutic procedures as directed by the collaborating or supervising physician.
- Attends all appropriate in-house conferences and required lectures as assigned and attends appropriate continuing medical education.
- Completes all required reading assignments.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the collaborating or supervising physician.
- Additional essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: appropriate electronic medical record usage, computer competency, traveling to system clinical sites, and participation in the call schedule.

Overview
The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.

Overview

May perform a wide variety of advanced patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices. Position Details:
The Registered Clinic Nurse, functions in the spirit of teamwork, is accountable for the delivery of care utilizing skills learned in the clinic. Assists other team members on the unit.
- Acts as clinic lead providing oversight of clinic flow and non-provider staff. Monitor staffing levels to assure appropriate staffing based on clinic needs. Assists in all aspects of day to day clinic activity.
- Triages patient sick calls to facilitate appropriate treatment plan with providers.
- Obtains and documents patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provides basic medical data base for provider, and prepares patient for examinations.
- Oversees chart checks insuring that all patient completed testing is available for provider visit.
- Directly assists providers with invasive interventional procedures as directed by provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Collects and prepares laboratory specimens and completes associated paperwork to expedite laboratory studies with maximum accuracy and efficiency.
- Executes and documents ongoing patient communication.
- Provides instruction to ensure patient's understanding of medical condition and compliance with treatment instructions.

- Provides care for Intravenous Lidocaine Infusion patients which require 1:1 observation/assessment/documentation during the infusion.
- Responsible for prep, positioning and monitoring of patient for acute changes during invasive interventional procedures.
- Receive, recover, assess and educate patients on all aspects of medication and treatments as appropriate prior to discharge.
- Routinely inspects and observes condition and operation of diagnostic equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and identify need for preventive and corrective maintenance. Competent in sterile technique and able to clean, sterilize and prepare instruments, according to established protocols, to ensure required level of asepsis and adequate availability.
- Required to wear protective equipment (lead apron/collar; radiation badge) during fluoroscopic procedures and complete necessary competencies annually.
- Cleans and sets up Procedure rooms between cases, ensures required level of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.
- Educates staff and patients on all aspects of medication and treatments as appropriate. Serves as preceptors for new nursing staff.

May perform a wide variety of advanced patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and maintains the patient care and unit environment consistent with the policies, procedures, and practices. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned clinical area.
- Provides enhanced patient care under the direction of the licensed nurse, which may include but is not limited to advanced dressing care, suctioning, removal of Foley Catheter and peripheral IV.
- May perform venipunctures and skin punctures to obtain blood specimens according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines.
- May perform daily, hands-on aspects of the storage, preparation and delivery of breast milk, infant and pediatric formulas.
- Documents in the appropriate sections to create a complete and accurate medical record.
- Identifies, observes, and documents the physical needs of the patient according to established standards. Reports any changes in patient condition to licensed personnel in a timely manner.
