This Pediatric Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) will care for patients in Geisinger’s Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, on the campus of Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.Our Dietitians work with the healthcare team to deliver excellent nutritional care and education for our neonatal and pediatric patients. This includes independent order writing privileges for managing nutritional care of our patients including parenteral and enteral nutrition. Applicants can expect to be a respected and valued part of the healthcare team.
Job Duties:
Provides safe, ethical, and competent evidence-based nutritional therapy that meets the standards of practice and the scope of practice as stated by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Manages the individual’s nutrition care in collaboration with the health care team and other nutrition professionals.
- Using the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ and Nutrition Care Process, assesses individual needs through synthesis of information obtained through the assessment interview, food and nutrition and related histories, review of the medical record, and discussion with other members of the interdisciplinary health care team in assigned area
- Develops a plan to meet assessed needs including recommendations regarding: the composition of diet and meal patterns and supplements; and the volume, rate, and composition of parenteral and enteral feedings.
- Confers with the health care team to develop goals related to patient care.
- Documentsin accordance with established standards.
- Evaluates nutritional status of individuals and makes recommendations regarding provision of optimal care.
- Counsels individuals, families, and care provider on normal nutrition and therapeutic diets with consideration given to the individual's educational, cultural, and socioeconomic background.
- Plans and conducts group classes for individuals in various areas of nutrition asindicated.
- Writes nutrition related orders for hospitalized patients in accordance with the Clinical Nutrition policy as indicated.
- Consults, educates, and advocates on behalf of individuals, groups, and special populations regarding food, culinary, nutrition and health issues, food security and insecurity, nutrition programs, nutrition wellness and resources.
- Plans for continuing nutrition care for individuals, as needed,using ancillary resources.
- Self-evaluates results and monitors for trends and changes in productivity related to workload.
- Compiles statistics and completes Clinical Productivity worksheets on a timely basis.
- Participates in departmental initiatives to meet strategic goals.
- Actively participates on appropriate committees for the organization and represents the Clinical Nutrition department in decisions made by these committees.
- Precept students as indicated. Mentor and train new staff members, colleagues, and other members of the care team as applicable.

As a phlebotomist, you'll support Geisinger’s mission of providing exceptional patient care through innovative, efficient, and high-quality laboratory services. At Geisinger, our phlebotomists are the friendly faces that collect samples to be analyzed by our state-of-the-art labs. Supporting a varied patient population, you’ll be responsible for venipunctures/skin punctures on patients in our inpatient setting.
There are many other tasks our phlebotomists complete, such as troubleshooting physician orders, processing specimens for testing, as well as aiding our patients.
We have many different skill levels in our labs, from new to experienced phlebotomists, and all skill levels are well utilized. Geisinger employs phlebotomists in roles I, II, and III. We also have numerous staff members who pursue their ASCP certification and become trainers for our department!
Phlebotomist I, II and III qualifications will be considered at appropriate compensation. Salary commensurate with experience.

Unit Description:
Join our amazing Emergency Department at Geisinger Medical Center! This hospital is a level 1 Adult Trauma Center, Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and first comprehensive heart attack center in the nation. The care of many of our patients starts in our Emergency Department- 44 bed total: 3 Trauma Bays, 9 in a Pediatric zone just outside the ED proper, and 2 Rapid Evaluation Rooms; 42 of the 44 beds have monitors.

Overview:

Certifications Required:
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State Registered Nursing License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) w/in 6 months of hire
Education Required:
- RN-Diploma, ASN, BSN or MSN from an accredited school
Experience Preferred:
- RN experience

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly.

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing. The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
Department Overview: Sentara offers both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to patients 18 and older who are in crisis due to mental illness, emotional distress, or destructive behavior patterns. Because our treatment facilities are located within local hospitals, patients have access to the full range of both psychiatric and medical care. This is especially helpful for patients experiencing symptoms that are confusing and impact their physical health.
