Where You Will Work:
10T is a 24 bed unit that cares for patients with advanced heart failure, chest pain, pre open heart surgery needs, pulmonary hypertension, and medical overflow. The unit also manages patients following pacemaker and defibrillator placement, procedures to correct arrhythmias such as ablations, and medication loading for arrhythmia management.
We’re Looking For:
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- New Grads Welcome!

- As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Where You Will Work:
9ST is a 48 bed Adult Moderate Acuity Cardiovascular Surgical unit. Working closely with the CVICU, we provide care to those patients needing specialty services before and after their heart surgery, heart transplant and/or ventricular assist device (VAD). Orientation to our unit is completed in two phases. Phase one focuses on the care of the cardiac surgical patient with phase 2 centering on the more complex needs of the heart transplant, ultrafiltration or VAD patient. Ensuring that our patients always receive care from the most professionally trained nurse we. 9ST is proud of our quality and patient satisfaction scores. Our dedicated team is always open to new nurses who are looking for a challenging but rewarding nursing career.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Must be able to: push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
- Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
- Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
- Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
- Additional department specific physical requirements may be identified for unique responsibilities within the department by the nurse leader.

Primary Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Assist with daily activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help patients with mobility: turning, repositioning, and transferring between beds and wheelchairs.
- Serve meals and assist with feeding if needed.
Vital Signs Monitoring
- Take and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Report any changes in a patient’s condition to nurses or doctors.
Support for Nurses and Doctors
- Set up medical equipment and assist during some procedures.
- Transport patients to different departments (e.g., radiology, surgery).
- Restock supplies and maintain a clean, safe environment.
Patient Observation
- Monitor patients for signs of distress or changes in behavior.
- Document care provided and communicate observations to the healthcare team.
Emotional Support

- Proficiently operates ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular and/or cardiac procedures/studies. Accurately differentiates between normal and pathologic findings.
- Reviews patient's medical record to obtain necessary clinical information including patient history, lab results, and physician orders, obtains necessary clinical information from patients, and compares requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
- Positions patient and selects proper transducer and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures. Adjusts factors to attain the appropriate images. Ensures safety, mental and physical comfort of patient.
- Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
- Accurately identifies and labels images identifying patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
- Maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
- Identifies equipment performance issues, communicates to appropriate staff, and evaluates new products and equipment for possible future use.
- Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history, and communicates findings to the appropriate physician.
- Serves as a technical resource, role model and/or preceptor for students and staff. Acts as a resource to staff at own facility and throughout the system.
- Participates in a quality improvement, patient safety or cost containment project/initiative either at a site, market or system level and in the achievement/maintenance of laboratory accreditation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

- Assists licensed pharmacist in technical duties related to preparation and distribution of medications
- Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications for patients including hazardous drugs and controlled substances
- Assists with medication distribution tasks
- Screens phone calls and routes as needed using proper telephone and voicemail etiquette
- Assists in daily pharmacy procurement, inventory control, and outdate checking
- Complete documentation required for removing, stocking, and wasting controlled substances, where applicable
- Perform nonsterile compounding following proper USP standards, where applicable
- Perform sterile IV admixture, as defined at the entity level, using proper aseptic technique, where applicable
- Inspects all assigned medication storage areas for adherence to storage policies
- Completes and documents medication admission histories, as applicable at the facility level

Pay Range:
$26.55 - $39.85Major Responsibilities:- Manages all daily operations of the department and the food program(s). Coordinates food preparation for patient tray assembly and delivery, and manages the distribution of food and supplies to ancillary areas.
- Directs and coordinates the development of menus to ensure quality therapeutic appropriateness and adequate cost to value ratios. Develops menu cycles for retail operations and modifies menu choices to meet requirements.
- Prepares instructional material for training and development of staff and conducts in-service education. Orients and trains employees in responsibilities such as food preparation, pre-serving/serving activities, recipe standardization, cashiering, infection control, fire safety, and cleanup activities consistent with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Guidelines.
- Initiates and maintains the department's outside vendor contracts, which includes evaluating pricing terms, arranging quantity discounts, negotiating contracts, soliciting bids, maintaining adherence to product quality standards, and contractual compliance.
- Generates statistical reports, analyzes data and tracks trends. Analyzes outcomes and develops action plans for improvement of the department. Identifies participants, performance indicators, data collection tools and evaluation methods to ensure timely corrective action plans in areas deviating from established standards.
- Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures, which may include: tray-line, production, diet office, retail operations, procurement, portion and temperature control, Mobile Meal Program, etc.
- Maintains the food service safety programs. Conducts regular safety inspections and accurately documents and investigates accidents.
- Establishes quality standards for customer satisfaction and develops and implements corrective action plans based on survey feedback.
- Develops and implements a comprehensive HACCP program to achieve a high level of sanitation and compliance with appropriate regulatory agencies. Conducts routine inspections of production areas and equipment on a daily basis.
- Responsible for cost effectiveness, which may include: monitoring cash register balance sheets and daily sales, evaluating equipment specifications, participating in the formulation of food specifications, and conducting periodic inventories to ensure adequate supplies are available to meet employee and customer needs.
- Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which includes coaching on performance, completes performance reviews and overall staff morale. Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, corrective action decisions, and terminations.

3CD is a 23 bed post-op surgical unit with 15 beds for Tele Patients. 75% of patients are admitted from PACU or as stepdown from Surgical ICU. This is a fast-paced, high acuity surgical unit specializing in Gastroenterology, Urology, Gynecology, and Plastic Surgery populations. This is a great unit for experienced Med-Surg nurses seeking to advance their skills and grow in their practice. It is also a great foundational unit for new graduate nurses who seek to eventually develop into more advanced clinical settings, such as ICU, ED, OR, and NP. We are a strong performing inpatient unit as measured by their Nurse Sensitive Indicators and Patient Experience scores. 3CD team members are committed to excellent clinical practice and patient outcomes. Shared Governance is an essential part of the culture on the unit, where nurses and nursing assistants have a strong voice in the daily operations. 3CD received top tier team member engagement scores in 2021.

Where You Will Work:
4CD is a 26 bed Medical/Telemetry unit comprised of both private and semi-private patient rooms. Most patients are admitted by the Emergency Department, making it a great learning experience for new graduates. You will care for a very diverse population with multiple acute and chronic illnesses including COPD, CHF, chest pain, diabetes, wounds, cellulitis, stroke, pneumonia, and minor surgical patients (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, etc).
We are a fast-paced medical unit which is the perfect place to learn new skills and have the opportunity to work as a partner alongside our multidisciplinary team. Where You Will Work:
The Same Day Interventional Surgery unit at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center is a 41 bed cardiac patient-focused unit, with 33 beds primarily supporting post‑procedural care for Cath Lab, EP, and IR patients, and 8 beds designated for the Cardiac Observation Unit. Supporting patients undergoing scheduled interventional and procedural care who are expected to be discharged the same day. The unit focuses on pre‑procedure preparation, post‑procedure monitoring, and discharge coordination for patients receiving minimally invasive or image‑guided interventions. The unit operates 24 hours solely to support observation patients and secures overnight at 10:30 pm. Procedural patients are monitored following moderate sedation, with some requiring overnight stays.

Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Requirements:
- High School Graduate
- at least 1 year of CNA experience in an acute or procedural setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days, and
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
- Basic computer skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities.

- Team members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g. DNV, CARF or others).
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift.
- Must be able to:
- lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
- lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
- carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to:
- push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
- perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
- Will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Must have functional vision and hearing.
- Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids on a continuous basis; therefore, protective clothing must be worn as necessary.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
