The incumbent has the authority, responsibility, and shift accountability for the delivery of nursing care through the use of the nursing process. The incumbent accepts accountability, applies competent clinical knowledge skills, and uses independent nursing judgment for care provided by self and by health care providers to who care is delegated to achieve quality patient care outcomes. The incumbent must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is relevant to the patient(s) under their care, as well as apply principles of growth and development over the life span. The incumbent also must possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)OR
Must possess current temporary RN permit as required by state board where services will be provided:
MD: No temporary permit issued. Requirements as follows:
Documentation of recent graduation from School of nursing
Must obtain permanent RN license within 90 days of graduation.
OH: No temporary permit issued. Ohio Nurses must be currently licensed.
PA: Current PA Registered Nurse Temporary Permit. Must obtain permanent licensure within one (1) year of graduation.
WV: Current WV Registered Nurse Grad Permit. Must obtain permanent licensure within 180 days from graduation.
NOTE: Temporary permits are valid only within the state of issuance; they are not multi-state licenses.
2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Answers multi-line telephone, provides routine information to callers and patients, takes messages and places pages.
- Contacts patients by telephone to confirm scheduling information and communicates patient schedules and changes to the appropriate staff.
- Performs patient check-in and initial patient registration tasks and ensures accurate completion of forms.
- Collects patients' post charges and payments. Completes patient receipts in a timely fashion.
- Orders, monitors and stocks all paper supplies including retail items.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail and supply deliveries.
- Files and maintains an orderly medical records system.
Work requires reaching in front of body to operate telephone, typewriter, computer, copier, and fax machine. Work requires long periods of sitting, frequent bending and pivoting to perform filing and office activities and reaching overhead occasionally. Must be able to lift documents or supplies weighing 1-10 pounds frequently, 11-20 pounds occasionally, and 21-50 pounds rarely. Work requires frequent use of fingers and both hands, speaking with clear diction, hearing and vision at close-up ranges (24 inches). Works in a fast paced office environment. Employee is responsible for working in a safe manner. Hours are occasionally long or irregular.

Provides nursing support to the physician and provides direct nursing care to patients in an inpatient setting.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Current Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by the state in which services will be provided or current multi-state Licensed Practical Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
2. Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
3. State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.

1. One (1) year clinical experience.

1. Provides direct patient care, as outlined in the patient’s plan of care and/or as directed by the overseeing role , to promote comfort and/or return to functional health for the patient. Consults with the Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist to seek guidance in delivery of nursing care, as necessary.
2. Performs designated therapeutic procedures to assigned patients as needed.
3. Accurately observes, records and reports to the overseeing role, all patient concerns, symptoms, reactions and progress in a timely manner.
4. Assists physicians and the overseeing role with examinations and procedures, as assigned.
5. Contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting and recording objective and subjective data.
6. Observes the condition or change in condition of the patient, records signs and symptoms of deviation from normal health status and reports findings to the overseeing role.
7. Participates in the development of the patient’s plan of care by providing data, contributing to the identification of priorities and assisting in the identification of measures to maintain comfort and support human functions and responses.
8. Assists in assigned patient and family education and rehabilitation by reviewing patient needs with the overseeing role and following the teaching plan.
9. Documents nursing interventions and responses to care, communicating to appropriate members of the health care team.
10. Accurately and safely administers intramuscular, subcutaneous, IV, oral, nebulization and/or MDI delivered medications as assigned.
11. Obtains instruction and supervision as necessary from the overseeing role when implementing nursing technique or practices.
For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:
1. Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In-services, and competency validation.

1. Heavy/Hard work:Work requires strength and/or stamina, lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, positioning of patients, standing, walking; carrying of patients, materials and equipment weighing 40+lbs.This is performed on a daily basis.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

3. Must be skilled with computer systems used by both physician offices and hospitals to capture data accurately and consistently.
4. Ability to function as a team member in respect to organization, communication, and task prioritization. Must also be able to work weekends, holidays and all shifts.
