Description:
- The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.
- Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.
- Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.
- Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.

Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

- Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

- Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines.
- R is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.
- As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
- Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
- Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
- Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
- Basic life support
- ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.

6B is a 23-bed post interventional telemetry unit. Staff receive specialized training for post catheterization, femoral sheaths and Tikosyn administration. Medical and post-procedural patients are cared for on this unit in addition to complex GI Oncology surgical post-op patients and inpatients needing chemotherapy and telemetry.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.
Job Description:
- Provides direct patient care, including hygiene, mobility, toileting, feeding, and positioning.
- Obtains and documents vital signs, intake/output, weights, specimens, and other patient data.
- Performs delegated clinical procedures such as blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
- Assists with patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and procedures.
- Performs clerical and unit coordination duties, including patient charts and physician orders.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and a safe patient care environment.
- Responds to patient needs and emergency situations while providing compassionate, respectful care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current KY Nurse Aide Certification, or successful completions of first year of Nursing program with validation of clinical rotation

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

The Patient Access Registrar presents a pleasing, helpful, and courteous manner to patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, and all other internal and external customers of the hospital. The registrar interviews patients in a professional manner and obtains all personal, medical, and financial information necessary for admissions and billing properly for services rendered. Obtains accurate insurance information and signatures when applicable and explains payment options available and refer to Patient Financial Counselor if necessary.

• Receives and interviews patients in a courteous, empathetic, and professional manner
• Obtains and enters complete and accurate patient demographic, guarantor, and insurance information
• Assures completion of forms for signatures, authorization and consents

• Ensures that the ordering, attending, referring and primary care physicians are documented in the hospital computer system (SMS) correctly when registering patients
• Maintains awareness of individual patient needs and wait times for registration. Monitors waiting and treatment areas for patients that have not been registered

Required - Current license or temporary license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist in the state of practice, Meets CLIA and CAP requirements for testing personnel relative to scope of duties, Meets the CLIA standards as a general laboratory supervisor; i.e. at a minimum a bachelor’s degree, and one year lab training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing, ASCP certification as a Medical Technologist. Job Description:
The CT Technologists performs CT scans according to established protocols. The CT Technologists demonstrates an understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology. The CT Technologists maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique. The CT Technologists maintains knowledge and awareness of radiation protection and safety during all radiographic examinations. The CT Technologists prepares for and assist the radiologist with intricate CT examinations including a range of tissue biopsies and fluid drainages. The CT Technologist will prepare and administer contrast media in accordance with hospital policy and procedure as well as state and federal regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information pertinent to the examination being performed, including correct patient identification and order verification.
- Assess patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
- Performs pre and post exam patient education pertinent to exam being performed.
- Produces CT scans according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department with a high degree of accuracy.
- Evaluates finished images/series for technical accuracy and diagnostic quality.
- Demonstrates good radiation safety practices during radiographic examinations to include use of correct FOV, lead shields as appropriate, and determining pregnancy status of women of childbearing years.
- Performs venipuncture and contrast injections in accordance with department and hospital guidelines.
- Ensures examinations are complete to include and exam logged in computer system.
- Instructs Radiologic Technology students in the CT Scan positioning and technique.
- Attends and participates in department staff meetings and in-services.
- Assists in training new personnel in hospital and department procedures.
- Takes an active role in gaining and maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems needed in performance of job responsibilities.
- Uses appropriate customer relations skills to ensure that customer expectations are met including flexibility in scheduled hours.
- Assist in quality improvement programs in the department.
- Maintains appropriate credentials and certification related to clinical practice and ensures a current copy is on file in the department/hospital.
- Ensures that assigned areas are kept clean, neat, and orderly.

- Registered with ARRT

- Reconciles medication list in EHR

- Completes school/work statements, FMLA paperwork, and other patient forms
