Required Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Experience:
1. *Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), AND
A. 12 months of recent nursing experience within the past five years, OR
B. Recent completion of a re-entry nursing program.
OR,
2. Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent nursing experience within the past five years
Exceptions:
1. *Current LPNs employed within the Emory Healthcare (EHC) system who have completed an accredited RN program and obtain RN licensure are eligible to transition into this role while completing the RN Resident Program.
2. Emory LPNs enrolled in an Emory ADN program as of 3/30/2025 must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.
3. Emory Warner Robins, Perry and affiliated Physician Groups location RN Clinicians with an Associate's Degree in Nursing with less than 2 years experience as a new hire or transferring as of 3/29/2026, must sign an obligation agreement to complete an ADN-to-BSN program within two years of entering the RN Clinician role.
Licensure: A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
Certification:
1. BLS certification
2. ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire
3. Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
4. If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire. Employees in role prior to 11/09/2025 will have until their next renewal date to achieve compact status.
5. If hired into a Wound Care Dept., completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program is required. Must achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months of entering the role.

The Patient Care Technician will be responsible for the examination and treatment of activities under the direct supervision of the physician.
Duties include but not limited to the following: obtaining patient medical history information, expediting patient flow, rooming patients, stocking clinic with supplies, navigating electronic health record system (EPIC), scheduling and following-up with appointments and checking for prior authorizations and scheduling tests, procedures and consultations.
The PCT will communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients and physicians in a respectful manner and will uphold Baptist’s mission and core values that drive service excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the coordination and flow of patients throughout the patients visit to create an exceptional patient experience.
Proactively check the provider’s schedule and review information within the patient record to ensure that all required information is available prior to their visit.
Proactively obtains any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date, which helps to ensure better care is being provided.
Upon arrival, captures patient’s vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage and preferred pharmacy information.
Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.
Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate.

Major Responsibilities:
- Performs, reviews, and reports complex laboratory tests in accordance with prescribed procedures according to standards set by FDA, CAP, AABB, GDHR and The Joint Commission.

Cytotechnologist performs microscopic evaluations of gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens. Uses independent judgment and cognitive skills to develop interpretations to be used by the physician in determining the presence of disease and/or an infectious process.
Major Responsibilities:
Demonstrates working and theoretical knowledge of diagnostic principles and interpretation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic evaluations and consistent screening productivity. Evaluates patient samples to determine the absence or presence of malignant and pre-malignant changes, infectious and inflammatory processes.
Identifies and provides accurate diagnoses within the department guidelines. False negative fraction and major/minor discrepancy within acceptable range set by the Supervisor Technical Lab. Follows screening limits and workload policy as required by the Clinical Laboratories Improvement Amendment of 1988 (CLIA'88).
Ascertains specimens are properly identified, labeled, data entered and suitable for testing. Identifies and corrects, as needed, patient demographics, clinical history, specimen identification and billing errors. Ensures reports are precise, accurate and timely according to the quality assurance program.
Assists and prepares cytology slides from fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures using the proper technique.
May perform, evaluate and monitor quality control and quality assurance for cytology, immunohistochemistry, and molecular testing, noting trends and identifying issues. Troubleshoots equipment, validates instruments, and tests according to established protocols. Recognizes indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction; evaluates and implements appropriate corrections.
Documents all appropriate information for quality assurance/improvement according to established protocol. Monitors workflow and makes necessary adjustment to complete work in an appropriate time frame.
Utilizes all required computer information systems appropriately. Follows policy for reporting and entering results in the department computer system. Refers cases for quality control review and pathologist interpretation.
Understands, follows, and assists in improving laboratory procedures, policies, and processes. Supports change efforts within the organization and contributes to their successful implementation. Ensures compliance with all accrediting agency standards.
Provides general direction and technical assistance to lab aides, pathologists, colleagues, client services and clients.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Cytotechnologist (CT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or
Specialist in Cytotechnology (SCT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or
Cytotechnologist (CT) certification issued by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP BOC) needs to be obtained within 1 year.
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, or
Bachelor's Degree in Cytotechnology. (Bachelors degree in biological science or equivalent will also be considered.)
Experience:
Recent cytology experience in an acute care hospital or high-volume clinical setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Minimum one year of training in a school of cytotechnology that is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
Required to participate in cytology proficiency testing and continuing education, having a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Attend and participate with mandatory in-services and department meetings.
Have a working knowledge of cytologic specimen processing.
Maintain constructive and effective communication to enhance department performance.
Must be able to work well with others in a team to complete tasks.
Must be able to demonstrate computer competency and be detail oriented. Maintain current knowledge of and comply with contents of all pertinent policy and procedure manuals.

Education & Training:
High School diploma or GED equivalent. General knowledge of medical terminology. Completion of an approved educational diploma program in ECG/EKG, Cardiology, or Emergency Medical Services. Education/training (except for HS diploma or GED equivalent) may be waived with experience listed below.
Experience:
One (1) year experience as a Monitor Tech, Critical Care Tech, or Patient Care
Tech in a hospital. Hospital experience may be substituted with Two (2) years of
experience in an acute clinical care setting or Two (2) years’ experience as an
emergency medical technician. Experience may be waived with
education/training as listed above.
Required Certification/Registration/Licensure:
