Job Description:
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the first connection between Intermountain and patients. This role embodies Intermountain values and focuses on establishing collaborative relationships with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction. The PSR ensures a superior customer experience by identifying and resolving patient needs related to patient intake and care, which may include greeting and checking-in/out patients, as well as verifying information supplied by patients.

Posting Specifics
- Entry Rate: $18.31 - $23.80 depending on experience

- LOCATION: This position will be located at our NEW Kimball Junction Pediatric Clinic opening soon
Essential Functions.
- Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging. Resolves patient needs skills to ensure a superior customer experience by identifying and resolving patient needs related to patient intake and care.
- Documents all phone calls accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
- Registers patients over the phone or in person by confirming, entering, and/or updating all required demographic data on patient and guarantor on the registration system. Follows procedures when identifying patients.
- Obtains copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on all required forms. May verify information on appropriate accounts to determine insurance coordination of benefits, may include pre-certification/prior authorization .
- Assists patients in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing needs prior to receiving clinical care. Scans necessary paperwork and educates patient on financial assistance. Proactively requests payments from patients on current and past medical services. Receives and processes those payments following appropriate procedures for handling payments.
- Stays current on role/responsibilities, updates etc. which may include reviewing monthly email/newsletter, ambulatory epic dashboard, patient access, work ques, attend clinic/service line meetings, review emails each shift, etc. to ensure the highest standard of performance is achieved.
Minimum Qualifications
- Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
- Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
- Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI) of patients, members, and caregivers.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of customer service experience involving interactions with customers in person and by phone.
- Billing and collections experience.
- Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Multilingual
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for caregivers to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- Position may require standing for long periods of time, lifting supplies
- May assist patients into/out of the clinic.

- Provides administrative support for the development of GME residency and fellowship program budgets
- Assists with the development of the annual labor, expense and capital budgets
- Reviews monthly responsibility summaries and provides tracking and approval of check requests and reimbursements
- Coordinates and implements special budgetary/financial projects, such as cost analysis • Proactively reviews budgets for negative variance and assists with the development of strategies to enhance budget compliance
- Manages restricted funds where available.
Coordinates with the AHC Medical Education Office any contract revisions and edits as appropriate (i.e. amendments or extensions) for Residents and Fellows. - Directs and supervises site Medical Education associates as they relate to GME and UME.
- Conducts regular individual meetings with direct reports to assure consistent communication of information and expectations to the team.
- Leads the program coordinator’s team meetings and works to enhance cooperation and work initiatives between individual residency and fellowship training programs and GME administration.
- Develops KRAs annually for associates and conducts performance reviews based on the KRA outcomes and the Behaviors of Excellence.
- Responsible for all Manager Desktop functions for medical education associates, including bi-weekly payroll.
Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education or health-related field. 5 years’ of supervisory or management experience. Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
5 years’ experience in medical education service delivery.- Ability to synthesize and integrate information and to make critical decisions Ability to handle confidential information.
- Computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a team oriented environment
- Ability to function in a complex integrated health care system
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with expertise in prioritizing own work and work of others
- Experience with accreditation principles, preferred.

What you will do:

Job Description:
Phlebotomist is responsible for accurate collection and handling of patient laboratory specimens for diagnostic testing according to established best practice in a manner that enhances patient and caregiver engagement in an experienced manner.
Essential Functions
- Phlebotomist is responsible for accurately collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing while working in a professional medical environment. This position functions as part of a dynamic and engaging team with a workload that ranges from fast-paced hospital settings and high/low volume clinics. Caregivers in this role will have valuable experience and knowledge that brings a higher level of expertise to laboratory services’ phlebotomy.
- The Phlebotomist
- performs specimen collection using many different techniques such as venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections. These caregivers collect specimens from patients of various acuities, such as Outpatient, Emergency Department, and Inpatient – including newborns, patients in intensive care, and all other areas of the hospital. They are at the forefront of patient care and adhere to and enforce the standards for laboratory compliance and safety regulations.
- Adherence to personal protective requirements in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including but not limited to gowns, gloves, lab coats, face shields, and masks.

Qualifications
- BLS Required
- High School Diploma, Preferred.

Job Description:
The Pharmacy Technician demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills in assisting the pharmacist in execution of appropriate, safe, efficacious, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care. The position participates in many procedural aspects of pharmacy practice under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or technician supervisor and is an integral part of the pharmacy team. This position supports Pharmacy Services in all locations (i.e., acute, community, ambulatory, specialty).
This position will work Mondays through Fridays day shifts (starting at 7:30 or 8:00 am alternating). Some holidays, no weekends.
Covers central pharmacy, delivers chemotherapy to infusion clinic, triage calls and central operational tasks such chemotherapy inventory stock. Supports compounding.
Essential Functions
- Assists with all phases of pharmacy services while under the supervision of a pharmacist as required by state of practice and job duties.
- Answers phones and provides excellent customer service as appropriate to practice site.
- Assists the pharmacist in collecting clinical and other patient information and maintaining appropriate records as required by regulation and policy.
- Utilizes pharmacy technology effectively to prepare medication orders for dispensing, performs calculations as necessary, and compounds medications for accurate compounding as appropriate to practice site, in accordance with state law, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Attains appropriate supervision and accuracy checks by the pharmacist(s) and clearly understands when a pharmacist must verify tasks and activities.
- Accurately fills and maintains medication supplies including verifying and monitoring controlled substance inventories to ensure security, accuracy, cost effectiveness, and 340B/Charging management as required to practice site.
- Packages and labels medications accurately and appropriately to minimize waste as appropriate to practice site and job duties.
- Ensures pharmacy cleanliness and orderliness as appropriate to practice site.
- Communicates with caregivers regarding responsibilities, identified concerns, and participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff and takes appropriate actions to escalate items to the pharmacist for review as appropriate based on urgency, regulations, and scope.
- Participates in departmental meetings, contributing ideas or feedback and identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction and seeks a team approach to developing and achieving best practices and processes.

Job Description:
The Enhanced Scheduler is responsible for registering and scheduling patients at Intermountain Healthcare facilities system-wide ensuring that processes and procedures exceed customer expectations. This position enhances the patient experience with one telephone call to schedule and register for services. The Enhanced Scheduler reviews insurance benefit information, estimated costs, and payment options with the patient. Also obtains or reviews all necessary demographic, clinical, procedural, and prep information with the patient or representative. This position also enhances the Provider experience by offering a single point of contact for the referring offices. The Enhanced Scheduler acts as a liaison between the physician office and facility departments across multiple service lines within the enterprise.

Job Essentials
- Maintains the surgery schedule, providing necessary information to patients and physicians.
- Coordinates, registers and schedules appointments for patients according to availability.
- Conducts patient pre-certification on proper insurance approval for appointments and medical care.
- Ensures all pre-operative required tests needed prior to surgery, are scheduled and completed.
- Coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc. is arranged prior to scheduled procedure.
- Communicates detailed information and answers patients' questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival / departure instructions relative to procedure.
- Schedules any necessary follow-up appointments, as directed by physicians.
- Receives and screens calls relating to problems that may arise due to date changes and any reasons for cancellation.
- Escalates non-routine issues to the practice manager or physician.
- Greets patients. Answers phones, takes messages, returns calls and provides needed information, while documenting all phone calls accurately and completely in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals and/or consultations.
- Registers patients. Confirms, enters, and/or updates all required demographic data on patient and guarantor on registration system. Follows procedures when identifying patients.
- Obtains copies of insurance card(s), forms of ID, and signature(s) on all required forms. Verify information on appropriate accounts to determine insurance coordination of benefits, pre-certification/prior-authorization. Complete the Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) questionnaire when applicable. Verifies insurance to determine coordination of benefits and obtains authorization and/or referrals as required. Screens for non-covered services and waiver of liability (ABN) through automated screening at time of service.
- Informs self-pay patients of liability due and prepayment requirements. Prepare estimate of procedures, calculates advance payment requirements on previous or bad debt and current balances. Refer potentially eligible patients to financial counseling and/or contract eligibility vendor(s). Refer complex or non-compliant patient financial issues to Clinic Manager or Revenue Service Center.
- Collects patient payments and provides accurate receipt. Posts payments in system. Reconciles receipts with cash collected and complete required balancing forms. Documents patient account notes for all interactions/transactions.
- Maintains department and/or individual work queues and reports as required.
- Prepares medical records for patient appointments by compiling information from various sources to include authorizations and non-Epic documentation. Accurately scans medical records as required for Medical Group or specialty office.
- Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards. Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent is required - Two (2) years related experience in a health care organization is required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily.
