$59.00 - $88.50MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical responsibilities:
Assesses, diagnoses, and determines/alters treatment and management plans appropriate for age, acuity and clinical condition. This includes ordering, performing, and interpreting appropriate diagnostic studies and prescription of pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and therapies.
Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence-based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
Provides health promotion, disease prevention and disease management counseling and education of patients and families.
Manages patients as part of an interdisciplinary team and within scope of practice. Seeks physician or other healthcare team member consultation or referrals as appropriate. Escalates need for more emergent or specialized care when necessary.
Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Substantiates and submits professional services consistent with compliant coding and billing practices.
Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team and/or health or community agencies.
Performs office or hospital procedures in accordance with specialty practice, competency and granted privileges (where applicable).
Other responsibilities:
Participates in quality, safety, and peer review initiatives/performance activities, organizational and/or departmental meetings and committees, peer review, and workgroups as necessary.
Participates in education and/or onboarding of new team members, students, and other health care professionals.
Seeks experiences to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and advance the profession within and outside of the organization.
Maintains standards of productivity, access, face-to-face time, and quality metrics to ensure optimal, safe and timely patient care delivery.
Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
License/Registration/Certification Required:
Active RN, and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice, AND
Active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served, AND
Active DEA registration prior to hire, AND
If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire, AND
Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire
Education Required: Master’s Degree in Nursing

$21.85 - $32.80MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives and sorts specimens and assists with detailed specimen handling; packages and tracks specimens for transport and performs specimen storage and retrieval. Ensures that specimens are properly labeled and suitable for testing. Resolves specimen identification and/or requisition problems and clarifies requests.
Performs limited testing under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) 1988 guidelines, according to established policies and procedures.
Performs laboratory result entry in the computer system. Enters and verifies test requests into the laboratories' computer system. Notifies providers of stat, critical, and other abnormal results and exceptions as defined by policy and procedure.
Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and makes minor repairs when needed. Runs quality control checks. Reviews logs and documentation to ensure compliance needs are met.
Reviews new lot/new shipment on testing in areas of oversight to ensure QC performed as needed. Also includes lot to lot requirements.
Processes specimens for testing, including aliquoting, pre-analytical steps, and loading instruments, while maintaining proper specimen identification.
Acts as a resource and trains new employees.
Assists Supervisor with workflow improvement, dept. projects and implementation of system initiatives, where appropriate.
Assist in a specialty area of the laboratory department, including but not limited to Microbiology, Genetics, Anatomic Pathology, Transfusion Services, etc.
Assists supervisor and technical specialist in inspection preparedness. Familiar with CAP checklist items that pertain to their duties in the areas of their oversight.

This position supports the Wisconsin Core Laboratory Cytology Department. Job duties include processing and staining Pap and Non-Gyn specimens, preparing specimens for molecular testing, slide filing and other ancillary duties as needed.

$24.10 - $36.15Major Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and storage of adequate inventory. Maintains adequate supplies and reagents at workstation and notes when reorder or preparation levels are reached. Orders supplies as required. Follows up on back orders, missing and incorrect orders. Puts supplies away appropriately including rotation of stock. Assures that all supplies are marked with date received, logged and appropriate labels NFPA are applied according to accrediting agency requirements.
- Maintains departmental equipment and computer hardware. Performs and documents routine preventative maintenance on instrumentation and equipment including printers and keyboards. Documents all maintenance and technical problems per established protocol. Identifies and solves technical problems related to lab methodology, including instrumentation and procedures; notifies supervisor as appropriate.
- Ensures accurate identification and validity of all specimens received from Surgery, Emergency Department, Nursing unit and physician’s offices. Confirms surgical specimen number, part number, etc. Notifies initiating unit and documents incidents of unacceptable identification or validity of specimens.
- Follows established laboratory safety procedures in accordance with those regulatory bodies such as OSHA, FDA, EPA, etc. Complies with requirements of CAP, Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and other regulatory agencies.
- Prepares tissue section and cytology cellblock cassette for histological processing. Assists pathologist or pathology assistant with gross examination of surgical specimens, labels tissue cassettes; maintains accurate daily workload records. Assists with fine needle aspirates including processing and logging for referral laboratories. Accurately files and retrieves stained slides, blocks to meet legal compliance retention of records.
- Assists in the preparation and performance of human postmortem examinations if deemed necessary per each laboratory site. Under the direction of the pathologist verifies the identity of the cadaver, makes preliminary body measurements, eviscerates the cadaver, performs routine dissections of some organs, cleans bowel and removes brain as requested, makes appropriate organ measurements, weights and records preliminary observations according to autopsy protocol. Notifies the Admitting Office when the body is ready for release to the funeral director. Assists in the assembling data necessary for the preparation of preliminary autopsy protocol. Assures the proper maintenance of equipment, adequacy of supplies and cleanliness and compliance with regulations in the autopsy suite.
- Provides required patient service and job assignment turn-around times according to established standards. Performs with adequate speed to assure expected result turnaround time. Initiates follow-up procedures when patient results exceed established criteria according to department protocol. Ensures frozen sections are processed promptly and within established protocol (site specific).
- Performs quality control testing. Records, reports and monitors all QC data in the proper manner. Takes appropriate corrective action when necessary and documents; notifies supervisor when limits are exceeded. Participates in efforts to monitor and improve CQI indicators. Identifies opportunities for improving quality.
- Demonstrates competency in the use of the Hospital Information System (HIS), Laboratory Information System (LIS) computer functions. Recognizes unusual operation functions of LIS systems i.e., fatal error codes, locked patients and notifies appropriate personal. Initiates and follows downtime procedures during instances of HIS/LIS failures or scheduled downtime. Performs computer functions, which includes, but are not limited to specimen accession, credits, charges, and order entry, printing of labels, reports.
- Assists in training and teaching bench-level methodology and theory to new and existing associates and students.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Zilber Family Hospice is an 18-bed acute inpatient hospice facility that provides highly skilled care to patients experiencing symptom management needs at the end of life. Our team provides exceptional care by working together to meet the needs of patients and families.
Pay Range:
$20.80 - $31.20Major Responsibilities:
- Assists RN with daily care of patients including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, activity orders and ambulation which may include use of therapeutic assistive devices, proper positioning, range of motion and special transferring as indicated.
- Measures and documents blood pressures, TPRs (Temperature, Pulse, Respiration), I & O (Intake and Output), daily weights, and other patient data as requested. Documents accurately in Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Performs purposeful rounding under direction of RN and promptly communicates observations, concerns, and needs of patient/family to RN. Documents appropriately.
- Participates in admission, transfer and discharge process under supervision of RN including room set up, orientation to room, removing linen, and proper management of patient belongings. Ensures patient call light is always in reach of patient and answers call-lights promptly.
- Collects urine, stool, and sputum specimens and performs point-of-care testing as indicated using approved process for accurate specimen labeling and identification. Maintains competency as required.
- Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas.
- Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection.
- Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
- Under the direction of RN and as determined by site/unit requirements, may be required to remove IVs, provide post mortem care, and bladder scans.
- Practices within policies and procedures of infection prevention by demonstrating hand hygiene and knowledge of sterile and aseptic procedures, proper disposal of contaminated materials and utilizing proper attire when in direct contact with patients in isolation.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days, and
- Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices.
Education Required:
- Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), or
- High School Graduate.

Uses proper imaging techniques and equipment to obtain scans of optimal quality. 1)Positions patient, adjusts equipment and immobilize patients to ensure optimal quality exams are obtained. 2)Assist physician during invasive procedures, adhering to sterile techniques, conducting timeout and completing all paperwork accuratly. 3)Operates portable ultrasound equipment when required to perform portable procedures as requested throughout the hospital. Resposible for documenting pertinent history for each procedure, in order to provide the radiologist with adequate information prior to interpretation. 1)Obtains appropriate medical histories and completes comment sheet for each patient. 2)Communicates and/or Fax “STAT” reports to physician offices, nursing units, and Emergency Department upon request, complying with critical value criteria. 3)Correlate current exam data with that from the patient’s prior exams. 4)Routine operation of department PAC's system. 5)Communicates with Radiologists in order to assure exam completeness. Adherence to all accepted safety standards and practices to insure patient safety and quality patient care. 1)Maintains CPR certification to futher ensure safety of patients in department. 2)Complies with OSHA Standards for infection control to prevent cross-contamination to patients and instruments. 3)Maintains awareness of safety hazard labels, pathology specimen, completed lab requisitions for delivery to appropriate lab departments. 4)Cleans, prepares, and sanitizes transducers for scanning according to manufacturer recommendations and established infection control standards. 5)Attends mandatory in-services / meetings. 6)Assures accuracy of exam perfromed and patient identification according to hospital policy. 7)Compliance with Accrediting Organization, ACR, IDPH, and EPA standards is required. Provides technical support for smooth and efficient operation of Ultrasound Department. 1)Interacts closely with the Ultrasound supervisor to provide for smooth daily operation of the department. 2)Helps in answering telephone, creating requisitions, etc. as needed. 3)Demonstrates reliability for attendance and punctuality. 4)Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility for change. Able to make diagnostic judgments when scanning and present them to the Radiologist. Registry eligible CPR Certification within 30 days of hire. New hire must be ARDMS certified within 1 year of graduation. Current Advocate associates must be ARDMS certified within 6 months. Your Job Responsibilities
• Answers the telephone and front window.
• Compounds products in IV Lab using sterile, aseptic technique
• Gathers items needed for miscellaneous requisitions, orders, crash carts, etc. to be checked by pharmacist prior to dispensing.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area; restocks returned medications, restocks work area to appropriate levels.
• Assists in maintaining inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies by notifying purchasing when items become low or increased usage of particular items in observed: utilized the “short list”.
• Maintains drug storage systems through restock and trouble-shooting functions
• Maintains Unit Inspections outside the department
• Makes scheduled rounds to all nursing units for the delivery of medications and the pick-up of discontinued medications and orders as needed.
• Makes non-scheduled rounds to any nursing unit as required.
• Perform charges and credits for floor stock sheets, narcotic sheets, miscellaneous charge slips, and returned medications into computer system.
• Processes medications in assigned area (OR, IV lab, first fill) in preparation of final dispensing by the pharmacist.
• Trains new employees as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned
